Where/How do I buy beer in University City, Philadelphia?
Question:
I just moved to University City and an only just realizing that you can't buy beer at any grocery or corner store. Where can I go without needing a car? Everything says I need to buy by the case, can't i just buy a 6-pack?

Answer:
Philly (and Upper Darby) have stores that will allow you to not only buy a six-pack but put together an assorment of brands. Look in the yellow pages. There might be one within walking distance or you might have to take SEPTA.

How far is Birmingham City University from the University of Birmingham?
Question:
Is it walking distance or more of a car journey? Also, how far in mins/hours

Answer:
I wouldn't suggest walking as it's 6.5 miles away. Google maps advise that it would take 19 minutes by car. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=(formerl y+University+of+Central+England+in+Birmingham),+Perry+Barr,+Birmi ngham,+B42+2SU,+United+Kingdom+(Birmingham+City+University)&daddr =University+Road+West,+Birmingham,+Birmingham,+B15+2+(University+ Of+Birmingham)&hl=en&geocode=CThryMMJKj9kFbtXIQMd4Qrj_yExTx26A9fz wg%3BFXlXIAMdHnji_yklvBYeyr1wSDE3Q0ZYy_2Ykg&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=52. 48892,-1.910568&sspn=0.152192,0.307274&ie=UTF8&z=13 Hope this helps :)

Temple University - Are freshmen living on campus allowed to bring cars?
Question:
I'm going to Temple University in the Fall and I'm going to be living on campus. Are freshmen allowed to have a car on campus? I know I don't really need one in the city, but I would really like to take it. I checked the website but didn't see anything. Anyone know first hand? Im going to Main Campus, not Ambler.

Answer:
Yes you are. Since Temple is more of a city campus the parking lot is not right next to the dorm. There are allotted parking lots around campus but pretty much a 5 minute walk from most dorms. I think you have to pay 300 bucks yearly though. There are regular parallel parking spaces in front of most dorms but I wouldn't rely on that because they usually fill up. Also, if one of the Philly sports teams win and a riot breaks out chances of your car getting damaged are really high. If you must bring a car then i recommend paying 300 for your parking space at the lot. It has 24 hour security so your car should be safe.

How far out are these Melbourne suburbs/universities from city?
Question:
I'm travelling from Geelong, so it's probably best to refer to the distance/time to travel by car from the city of Melbourne: Caulfield (Monash University) Burwood (Deakin University) Prahan (Swimburne University) Port Melbourne (Australian Academy Of Design)

Answer:
All will take roughly the same time from the city though Port Melbourne is on the Geelong side of town. All times will vary depending on the time of day. Burwood - about 12 to 15 minutes Caulfield - about 12 to 15 minutes Prahran - about 12 to 15 minutes Port Melbourne - 12 to 15 minutes

Where can I park my car for Free in Surrey, British Columbia near Simon Fraser University ?
Question:
I am in school near Central City Mall and Simon Fraser University, the car park charges a pound and a crown. Rumours of Free Parking abound. Yahoo ! Answer Help me.

Answer:
the cheapest place right near there is actually the north surrey rec centre parking lot across from Central Towers. I think its 4 bucks per day Free parking, well there is a little strip mall on the east side of surrey central (has a royal bank in it) and its not well monitored but lots of people know that. The parking lot of the mall itself is free but limit is 4 hours so if you dont mind moving your car every class you could get away with that too.

Would I be able to afford to live in New York City while going to Columbia University?
Question:
It is my newfound goal to get excepted into Columbia university and live in NYC. But now that I've thought about it, even if I got a job, would I be able to afford just living there? What with the apartment costs, transportation (gas, car, car insurance) and etc. is this even a smart dream? How much would I have to make to support myself?

Answer:
As a Freshman you will be able to live on campus - and if you are a US citizen then you can apply for financial aid. Living on campus in NY is the only way to really afford life in NY City as a student.

How many college students would be willing to ride the city bus across town to attend the university ?
Question:
Assuming that your car broke down, and you can't afford to fix it and you are living at home for free and the bus only costs .40 cents and less if you buy a pass, and it comes right to the University and with in a block of your home? If you would why and if not why not? It is a safe city, with low crime rate and rather large say 100,00+. If one plans his/her schedule well, and the buses come every hour on the hour, how could you waste time...I mean you could always, read or study.

Answer:
Of course! I'm not one of the people who think they're too good for the bus. I ride it all the time because I have no car, and I don't care what other people think.

Have you gone to San Francisco State University or lived in that city?
Question:
I'm thinking about applying there, but I want some opinions on the city first. I've visited there several times, but I don't know how it would be living there. For example, is the traffic as bad as people say? Should I bring my car with me or rely on public transportation? Etc, etc. Also, is housing and jobs difficult to find and obtain?

Answer:
Public transportation. Parking is expensive and not necessary and the bart is fun! Housing is pretty easy to come by and so are jobs (but with todays economy i'd apply to a lot of places)

How many minutes is University of Maynooth from Dublin City Centre?
Question:
By bus and/or car?

Answer:
It should only take half an hour by car. The bus goes a bit of a round about way so it might take twice as long although I'm sure there's a more direct one than the link below. http://www.nuim.ie/location/road_directions.shtml
