How much do O'reily and Autozone pay per hour?
Question:
I'm in Joplin, Missouri. Also, I have hands-on experience with my car, my most extensive work involving an engine and transmission swap so I'm not totally clueless. I'm not certified or anything though either.

Answer:
I've had a couple friends work for these companies. One just worked the floor and front counter, and made about $9 an hour. Another friend, however, has a unique job at an auto parts store and actually works on the computer/POS systems at one of these chains (I can't remember which one). He makes about $35,000 yearly. He is able to use his knowledge of cars AND computers, two of his major passions, and loves his job. He, though, had to work his way up – starting as a clerk. I think that you are probably looking at a long time of being there if you want to make any money. If you are there for 10 years, you do really good and get promoted a few times, you might end up making $50,000 or $60,000 yearly as a store manager or something similar.

Can you be a self employed taxi driver?
Question:
What's to stop me from turning my car into a cash generating asset and drive people around for money and charge people less than the other taxi services? Are there any laws or regulations regarding this situation that I need to be aware of? I live in Joplin, Missouri. As opposed to say getting a job at a taxi company. I am 24, and can't drive taxis until I am 25 because of insurance crap.

Insurance, business licence, safety inspections, , a new vehicle regularly, people pissing, throwing up, bleeding in it, robbery of you

I need to get my dog from San Diego Ca. to Iola KS. I only have $250. He has been in a foster home for 1 mo?
Question:
I moved 1 month ago. my daughter was supposed to take the dog when she moved but at the last minute she realized that she couldn't fit him in her car. he is a lab about 3 years old and weighs about 75lbs. He has been with a "foster family" for about 5 weeks and i am desperately trying to bring him here to Iola Kansas to live with "mom". I miss him terribly. I have tried most airlines and they are about $350. I posted a request with "operation roger". which is a site that has truck drivers who will transport your pets. So far I have had no response. I am running out of ideas! He is in North County San Diego, between Escondido and Oceanside.I can go to Kansas City, Kansas or Witchita , Kansas or Joplin, Missouri or Tulsa, Oklahoma to pick him up. I am in a wheelchair as I am having foot and ankle reconstruction. I am on a fixed income and have saved $250.00 so far. I am wanting to get him here before another month goes by. I have the money to take car of him with no problem it is the $400 total cost of health certificate, vet visit and airfare that I do not have. This is a "family" dog that has been with us since he was born and has been taken care of quite well. He has been part of the family and I am wanting him to stay part of the family. He has a large fenced yard and kids to play with. I am trying to get him "home"

Answer:
My Aunt in TX. placed an ad in her local paper and found someone needing to go to CA and back. She paid for part of the gas, and the pet was retrieved successfully. the people who drove were two older ladies, trying to get back for a family reunion. They were happy for the financial help, and the security of having a large dog in their car at rest stops. If your lab is gentle, and will behave in a carrier, this might work for you. Be sure to ask for local references.

Grandparents rights when parent leaves the state and children are being neglected?
Question:
Here is the situation: My mother lives in Florida and, until recently, my younger sister and her two children lived there too. My mother would have the children 5 days a week, and during the evenings and overnight on weekend. (so yeah, basically all the time) My sister was never really concerned about it because she was able to go out, work (sometimes) and try to keep an eye on her "husband". Well, her "husband" up and left for Joplin, Missouri (yep, same place on TV now) and my sister became lonely and thought that if she brought the kids to Missouri, the "husband" would have no choice but to come back to her. So, the Saturday before that eadly tornado went through Joplin, she tells my mother she will watch the children. Of course, she actually just takes off with the kids and steals one of my mother's cars in the process. (Let's also add into the note that my mother was IN THE PROCESS of trying to get custody of both children!) My mother was scared that if she reported the car stolen, the children would be put into the system and she would never get custody of them. Anyway, my sister goes to Joplin,Missour and we all know what happened next. Now she is trying to ask my mother for money and such, using the sob storey that "the baby doesn't have this" or "the baby doesn't have that" (one child is a 6 year old boy, the other is a 7 month old girl) but she has money to try and convince the children's father to come over. (She basically pays him to come and see them). My mother has offered to have the children flown back but my sister wants none of it because she "knows that eventually the father will come around." The children are sleeping in a car every now and then because the father's side of the family wants nothing to do with any one of them and my sister has only 3 sets of clothing for them. She says she would rather make this sacrifice than try to live without this man. She has left the children at shelters with people because she "was checking into work" at late hours (we are talking midnight and on) and sees nothing wrong with the children just being shuffled around. She wants my mother to take pictures of things in Florida and send it to her so she can claim that she lost those items in the tornado, ie a television, a different car, expensive stuff you know). She is impossible to track because of the hopping she does from shelter to shelter, but we do know she is still in Joplin. The CPS in Missouri is very busy now, understandably, but there has to be something that can be done. I am unfamiliar with Florida law (I work in law enforcement in Texas) and have no clue of what else to do. We have tried contacting CPS in Missouri, but they are very busy; the social worker in Florida says there is very little they can do right now. There must be something to expose the fraud she is trying to pull and the way she is neglecting these children. Any SERIOUS advice would be appreciated. It should be noted that the children WERE being neglected before. . . while in Florida. Their mother would rather party and go out than care for her children. She merely visited them at my mother's house when she was awake. YES, a disaster zone is an excuse but she is being given an option to make it better for her children and she refuses because she only wants to chase a man around!

Answer:
i live in Florida and it is a long long process...we have been going through it with my grandchildren, and even if the state puts the children in temporary custody with your mom, they hire an agency to reunify the family. So as of now we have been going through it a year, my daughter is in rehab...but even the state taking the children away from her, having report after report of suspected drug use and neglect, they chose to spend tons of money to hire an agency to actually put those children back in the hands of there neglecter!...We all know the success stories of recovering from addiction is very low..i said all of that to say this..dealing with Florida stinks to the high heavens, we are way behind here . Florida's own protective services say it is not a crime to live in a car, or to be poor!....I know its not a crime, but there should be food in the house or available for the children. They want to keep the children with family, so if they did temporarily take the children from her, then your mother would be on the top of the list...after fingerprinting, background check etc etc..its a long long process.

Cheap travel... help please?!?
Question:
Hello. I am leaving for Joplin Missouri from Virginia Beach on the 24th of May and returning on the 29'th. My husband and I really can't afford to put out more than $300 round trip. I was planning on driving, but my mom offered to put $300 towards us flying today, and after looking around I can't find any thing cheaper than $400 per person including taxes. So yeah, that would leave us with a $500 dollar bill to fly, minus her $300 contribution. Does anyone know of a lower-cost and faster way to travel? My hubby's navy and I'm a dependant, and yes, I have looked at military discounts. Does anyone have any ideas? Or should I just take the car? Thanks!

Answer:
Okay well I travel all the time on a budget to see family and most the time the cheapest way to go is by car. I tried to crunch some numbers for you so you would have a better idea of what driving would cost. You are going approx. 1212 miles, lets say you have a 10 gallon tank that is 121 gallons used to get there. The average price of gas for your trip is $3.00 per a gallon which brings your total to about $363 each way (this does not included food or other things). Total round trip would be $726. If your mom is giving you $300 this brings your cost down to $426 round trip. I really do not think that you are going to find airline tickets for this. Here are a few websites to help you with gas prices: http://www.gasbuddy.com The only other thing I can recommend is to look on priceline, expedia, traveloctiy and other travel sites. If you are flexable on the time you can bid last minute and get some great deals. Two things to look out for: Make sure you can pick the day and make sure you are not flying stand by. They have really cut flights and getting a flight stand by is really hard. I hope this helps you have a great trip and tell your husband thanks for serving our country.

Do you guys agree with Republicans that Relief funds for Tornado victims should come only if cuts are made?
Question:
Eric Cantor said Relief funds for Victims of the Recent tornado devastation should only come if cuts are made from other programs. I guess the cities that were destroyed should lay in Ruin's only if Republicans can make cuts to more ideological programs right? I mean it totally makes sense that those people who lost their homes, cars, and everything should probably starve with their children or remain homeless and jobless until these cuts are made right? That makes a lot of sense right? I wonder what Eric Cantor would think had Barack Obama came out against sending billions of dollars in Aid to Israel every year unless we make some cuts to the Tax Relief for Corporations and those 250k and Higher? Just a thought. http://www.newsmax.com/US/Cantor-Joplin-budget-Missouri/2011/ 05/30/id/398211

Answer:
Eric Cantor showed what an ass he is and it's gonna cost him.

Having Second thoughts about relocating?
Question:
I went to Joplin Missouri May 25, til June 15th. Did Tornado Work. I loved the Area, The people and stuff. Just couldn't live in a Tent for any longer. I want to rent out a room for like $250 $350. There are alot of kids my age doing that. How do I know if I will miss the little things. I won't have any furniture, only my laptop, car, money, clothes and few blakets to sleep on. Jobs will be easy and I will start school. I miss the area now that Im home. But scared.

Answer:
The answer is you will miss the little things, but that will make your experience so much better. Once you get a job you will be able to afford some furniture from a second hand store or a garage sale. Just go and do it, the experience will be worth whatever you might miss.
