Can my girlfriend's mom kick me off of the curb in front of her house?
Question:
My girlfriend's mother hates me. She lives in a different house from the father, but still owns part of the house in question. The other night, she threatened to call the cops on me if I didn't get off her property. I went to my car which was parked on the curb and not touching the grass at all. She told me I had to move the car. Since I wasn't sure I could fight it, I moved. I thought about it later, and I think the curb may belong to the city. So, my question: Can she tell me to move my car from in front of her house if I'm not blocking the driveway? City is Biloxi, Mississippi. I wasn't bothering her at all. Didn't say a word to her. I was waiting on my girlfriend to come back to the car so we could leave. She has instigated at least three incidents so far on public properties. The woman tracks us with the GPS in my girlfriend's phone or something...she shows up with her other daughter and bitches at us incessantly. She even blocked us in twice. Does anyone know where I can find information to prove this in case the situation presents itself again? A written law or something?

Answer:
no

Where are you right now?
Question:
Currently, I am in Biloxi, Mississippi for a business meeting. I'm eating lunch now and am on my laptop in my rental car in the parking lot of an office building. I'm having a salad with chicken and a gin and tonic for lunch. These people at the meeting annoy me so much! I was in NY early this morning but I had to fly down here for the meeting. Then later today, I fly out to LA for vacation. Then after thats all done, I go home back to Montreal. I live in Canada. Born in Paris and raised in Canada. Its so hot here. Where are you? Whats new? What are you upto?

Answer:
Newfoundland. :) Sitting here, not doing too too much. Was watching the Olympics diving, it was pretty alright. Canada didn't win, they were suckish. But better than I can do. :) Nothing new, I smell dinner, and it smells gooood. :) Cabbage Rolls, lol.

Can I pay a possession ticket without having to show up to court?
Question:
Me and a friend went on a road trip from Dallas to Miami but we got pulled over by a cop in Biloxi Mississippi. The officer found 4 doobies (jays) which were less than 2 grams of marijuana in total. I was in handcuffs for less than 5 minutes before the officer gave me a $325 ticket for possession and a court date. He only charged me with possession because the marijuana was on my side of the car. After that he let us go our way. I have called the court and they told me that if i plea guilty the judge will just make me pay the ticket and that will be the end of that but I have to show up to court. The problem is that I am now back in Dallas and it is impossible for me to show up and lawyers are charging me over $1000 just to show up for me. Is there a way around this? Any help would be really appreciated.

Answer:
No, you cannot. You will have to go to court to pay it.

Chapter three? How is the beginning?
Question:
"Viki, sweetheart, wake up. We need to get going." My Dad whispered shaking me gently. "Where are we going?" I grumbled. "Biloxi, Mississippi." "Backwoods, yay." I sat up and streatched. My Dad left and I changed into a longsleeved, red shirt with black stars all over it and some black skinny jeans. I packed up my few belongings and checked my phone. Five missed calls and three texts. "Screw you Ryan." I muttered and threw all of my clothes into a couple suitcases. I carried all my stuff down the stairs and Dad carried it to the car. [italics] I'm going to miss this place. I'm going to miss school and...and Ryan and Drew with his idiotic comments. [no italics0 My phone stared playing 3 a.m. and I sighed knowing it was Drew. I pressed the 'send' button and planced the phone to my ear. "Hey Drew." "Vik listen-" It wasn't Drew. It was Ryan. "No, you listen. I want nothing to do with you. I honestly thought I loved you and you loved me but look how fucking wrong I was. Thanks for ruining my life. You did a great job." I hung up and turned my phone off. "Come on, we're gonna miss out flight." For the rest of the book: http://www.worthyofpublishing.com/book.asp?book_ID=12893

Answer:
"Screw you Ryan" =^_^=. Anyway, I thought her outburst of dialogue, about how she thought she loved him, was out of place. I mean, saying she wants nothing to do with him would be believable, but cut back on the rest. Unless you want to build up to it with more of him talking in between. Good luck!

Stay at home mom of two taking a six hour drive trip with kids, needs advice?
Question:
I hope everyone is doing well today! Thanks for taking the time to read my question. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Next month, my hubby, me and our two children, (son is two years old and daughter is ten months old) are taking a six hour drive trip down to Biloxi Mississippi. MY husband and I are going to a WWE event and my sister who is 15 is tagging along to go under the circumstances that we pay for her meals. She is going to be staying in the hotel room with our children while we are gone (the event is a block away) Now, my question is this. What can we do to keep our children happy for that LONG six hours. We do not have a tv in the car. So, I really need some suggestions on this one. And also, how old does a baby sitter need to be to keep someone's children? My sister is very trust worhty and her and my mother keep them for one or two hours every couple of months(my mom wants to charge me $150.00 a day to keep them) so I am always with my kids.(cant afford that)thanks

Answer:
I travel 6 hours with my daughter all the time as that's how far away my parents are, and I've been doing it from one month old with her. She may have a few toys to play with, but she also occupies herself looking out the window and talking to me about what she sees. yes, we do sing songs, etc. However, kids who aren't used to that are going to need some help. They do have DVD players that you can buy that plug into the cigarette lighter. If your sister is going along, bring books she can read to them. Get some kids music and have sing-a-longs. Plan for a stop about half way to let your kids run around for a while. Also, if you can plan the trip to be around nap time, they will sleep for some of it.

Can a police officer write you a ticket on foot?
Question:
In Biloxi, Mississippi I was stopped by a police officer who was standing in the middle divider. He waved me over. He then informed me I was in a school zone. However the school zone flashing signs where off and the posted school time was until 4:00pm which it was just. There were no children present and I was traveling the speed of traffic. Once he gave me my ticket It said posted speed was "15mph" and my speed was "17mph" then he wrote "2" over the "1" making my speed "27mph". I plan on fighting this in court I just don't know what grounds to fight on. To top it all I just moved her for the Military so I have an out of state license so I can't do traffic school plus I can't help but feel a little persecuted for the bright red car and California plates. Any knowledge of this will be great! Specifically does anybody know if an officer can literally eye ball your speed and use that as evidence for conviction?

Answer:
OK: 1) Eye balling a speed is ok when it is quite obvious a speed is being broken at the time by an excessive amount.(@5 in a 15 maybe but 17 in a 15??) 2) The ticket shows a write over as this is questionable? 3) The time the ticket was issued should also have been noted. If it is after 4pm say 415 or 405 hen why was it written. 4) Ask the courts indulgence as to no flashing lights, children etc, also go by the school area and clock when normally a school is closed. Here we have from 230 to 3 pm for the intersection to be open to school and at 3pm shut down. 5) Out of state plates an military are of no use as military personnel register their vehicle in the home of their actual residency as a civilian. I had a WA dl and have been in Cal, Montana, Ga, Al, WV, DC and NJ as a military person keeping my lic in Washington. The court of jurisdiction is what is to take into account here.

Did Hurricane Katrina hit anywhere other than New Orleans??
Question:
I am from South Mississippi and it just kills me that all you ever hear about is N.O. I just read in Yahoo News that there is not affordable housing in N.O. Well. NEWSFLAH!! There is no housing here either. I was ;iving in a FEMA trailer in Biloxi and had to move out of that into a relatives home becuase the Lower 9th Ward from N.O. was there also. They were stealing cars, selling drugs and fighting in the street. I would not even let my 13 year old daughter out of the trailer. MS is getting itself together. Why can't N.O. do the same?

Answer:
Yes I can say that Katrina did hit places other than New Orleans. I went to almost everyplace (Including New Orleans) during the 7 weeks I spent in my slow response to this disaster that the good people of New Orleans feels was brought down on them by President Bush because he has that kind of power. By they way, in my slow response, I had hurricane force winds blowing around my house late into the evening on the 29th. After getting about 3 hours or severly interupted sleep, I launch a helicopter to aid the gulf coast at 530 am on the 30th and followed with an additional 4 helicopters at 830 am. I gave my own food out to people and went with out till I could get back home later the night. This doesn't make me a hero, merely a person of compassion doing all that I could to help...... only to be made to look as if we didn't care by the media and those good citizens that expect the government to wipe their a.s.s.es. It was evident to us when we came across people who were helping themselves and others and those who were waiting for the hand out.......

Could anyone give me ideas of things to do with my girlfriend that would be "unforgettable?"?
Question:
So I met this girl a few weeks ago, we're in our senior year of high school at a boarding school, and we started dating. Most of our dates involve going to these secluded spots that are in the wilderness that no one knows about that I discovered last year or last semester, an abandoned railroad track that runs over a river, a park that is incredibly hard to find that no one goes to, or a random stairway that is in the middle of the woods that leads to a locked chamber, (very Lost ish). Anyway, she is starting to enjoy these excursions, I really like the outdoors and discovering places, but she had to be convinced :). Anyway, now she wants to go do something "unforgettable" does anyone have any ideas? I am a teenager with a car, but little money, and live in Mississippi. The ideas I have so far are go camping... ON A BOAT and in the morning try to make it back, drive 6 hours to Biloxi and the beach and build the biggest sand castle ever, or go to the nearby buffalo park and feed buffalo, but does anyone have any other ideas? (I know, some of the ideas are kind of stupid, but I think fun hopefully :) Thanks!

Answer:
I don't think your ideas are stupid. I think it's great that you two are actually spending time together doing fun activities that don't involve sex. It's refreshing to see that in a teenage couple. Anyway, you could have a picnic in a park, go on a bike ride in a nice area, or just lie under the stars (if the weather is nice where you are) and talk while staring at the clear starry sky. Hope that helped! :)
