Why Is The Parking Ramp At Rochester Mayo In Minnesota Filled With Cars With Canadian Plates? Question: http://www.postbulletin.com/newsmanager/templates/localnews_story .asp?a=311980&z=2 this is a news story from a paper in rochester minnesota (i live close to here) do u find it terrible that we cant even feel safe walking home from school. this guy targets young girls walking out in public and he pulls over cars that have young girls in it. i dont even feel safe walking home from school anymore. dont u find it terrible that we cant even take a walk around town and feel safe. this guy isnt even a real cop. tell me about it. it just freaks me out. in the paper they had a map with the location and the dates he does it and he does it every 8 days. the last one was on the 10th. so im guessing it might happen today Answer: Good grief!! are minnesota police dash cams always on? Question: I got pulled over in Rochester, MN because a cop said I didn't make a complete stop at a stop sign and I know I did. The thing is he was no where in sight in fact he was on the opposite lane as I took a right at the stop sign behind two cars and when he pulled me over he said "I got you on camera". I'm wondering if the dash cams are always on 24/7 or just when they put their lights on? cop cars are always on thus making them in "use", so the question still stands, does the recording happen when the cop turns on the lights or are the dash cam recording 24/7? Answer: I work for a larger Minnesota city. Our cameras are always in standby mode, but not always recording. Recording is started automatically when the lights/siren are activated. Recording can also be started manually by the officer, this is useful if you want to capture driving conduct prior to activating lights/sirens. The camera's not only record video/audio, they are also hooked to GPS to record exact location, and also record use of turn signals, break pedal, speed, radar speed, and g-force. The camera's we use dis-allow the officers to erase any data. Digital Ally is our vendor, they have a pretty big market in Minnesota. I think procedures vary from agency to agency, but from a logistic standpoint, the camera's only have so much capacity, much less the servers they download to. If you recorded every minute of every shift, form every squad, storage capacity would skyrocket. |

You have to know what to look for... or you will waste your money on a car worse than the one you have now...... If you have a friend that knows about cars, take him with you... If you have a trusted mechanic, take the car to him...most mechanics will do this for 50-100.00... If you have a trusted mechanic, you might talk to him, about available used cars, one of his customers may be selling a good car... A lot of people will tell you to get a carfax... this is great if you are looking at 2 year old cars, but won't tell you much on a 5-6 year old car.... |

Some of these are mis-named either because of press hype or because of racism on the part of local officials. Most of these are blown way out of proportion by calling them a "riot". For example, I lived near Plainfield, NJ in 1968 and there was a disturbance there, but I wouldn't call it a riot. And you'll notice that there are many incidents that are not called a riot, but also involve mass mob violence in which WHITE people attacked black people. A good example is the town of Rosewood in Florida. In 1923 there was such a horrific event there that the entire black population was either murdered or forced to flee for their lives, and the town was wiped off the face of the map. There were many events like this from the end of the 19th century, right up through the civil rights era of the 1950s and even early 1960s. Why weren't they called "riots"? EDIT: I just noticed you included the Stonewall Riot. You really should look that up. It had nothing to do with race! Gay New Yorkers, tired of being beaten and abused by police, fought back in what is historically considered the beginning of the Gay rights movement. While I'm sure there were Black people there, most of the people fighting the police were White. Do you just think the word "riot" implies "Black people" is that how you accidentally included this one? That says a lot about where you're coming from. |
