Police harassment!?!?!?
Question:
Im 25. I live in a metro area of around 200,000. The town in question is Fargo, North Dakota, i live across the river in Moorhead, Minnesota. I have worked the same construction job for the last 4 years. Last year i was arrested for disorderly conduct and the charges were dropped when the city witness did not show up for court, even though they were subpoenaed. Ever since then i have been getting pulled over and ticketed for the dumbest things, no ticket has been over $20. I did not pay one as i was laid-off at the time and did not have as much money as i normally do. So my drivers license was suspended, effective May 3, 2011 12:01 am. I was pulled over at 6:48 am, for no reason. The officer claimed he ran my plates when we drove past each other head on, but he did not pull me over immediately. I went into a stop-n-go to get some breakfast before work. He followed me from the parking lot, and got behind another car. I was 4 blocks in front of him when he turned his flashers on to 'pull me over for driving with a suspended license'. He was very arrogant that he had pulled me over. I was taken to jail under $300 bond, as per his decision! I was bailed out by a coworker about an hour later. Does this fall under police harassment or am i just being paranoid? Is there anything i can do about this?

Answer:
It is not harassment. To lessen these problems: 1.) Avoid driving between 9pm and 9am when possible. You are more likely to get pulled over during these hours. 2.) More importantly - Obey the law. Do not speed, Do not make a lane change without signaling. Do not be disorderly. And do not drive with a suspended license.
