Trust a car with 169,000 miles to go 3200? Question: I own an 88 Custom Cruiser that has 169k miles on it, and I'm planning a 3200 mile trip (7 days) from my house (central Wisconsin), and making stops in Moorhead, Billings, Pocatello, Vernal UT, Kimball NE, Nebraska City, Albert Lea MN, and back home. I plan on getting it looked at by a local mechanic for his opinion, he has told me that the engine was in amazing shape, especially when considering it's age about a year ago when he replaced the gas tank on it. I've never had problems with starting it. The body is in fair condition with rust on the back fenders. Answer: enjoy the trip, check tires, battery, no prob |
