i traveled by car for 14 hours with my two hermit crabs and 7 hours overnight in a hotel ... i had one of those acrylic tanks with the plastic vented lid ... i filled it with about 3 inches of coconut fibre and it was pretty damp ... i also had a bowl for water with a sea sponge in it ... i also put in half a coconut shell, i had one that would fit both inside at once ... i put in some of their regular staple food too .. i spritzed them once ... i also covered three of the four sides of vents to keep it more humid but still allow airflow ... they were cramped but dealt with it well ... still alive and kicking and that was almost four years ago :O)
