is there a correlation between religious fanaticism and intellectually lacking?
Question:
September 13, 2006 David McMenemy of Rochester Hills, Michigan crashed his car into the Edgerton Women's Care Center in Davenport, Iowa. He then doused the lobby in gasoline and then started a fire. McMenemy committed these acts in the belief that the center was performing abortions, however Edgerton is not an abortion clinic.

Answer:
When one is naturally lacking in the mind they must make up for in the body or spirit.

Few questions about Michigan (Rochester?)?
Question:
I know there's a good few questions here, but please can you try your best to answer them all thanks. 1) Is Rochester Hills in Rochester ? Or is it two different places ? 2) Is Michigan big ? How big roughly ? Compared to Scotland ? 3) How big is Rochester/Rochester Hills ? 4) What age do you have to be to legally smoke and drink ? 5) What age do you have to be to legally buy cigarettes and alcohol ? 6) What age do you have to be to legally drive and own a car ? 7) Is Rochester a nice place to live in ? 8) Whats the crime rate like in Rochester ? 9) What other places are nice to live in, in Michigan ? 10) Are the people friendly ? 11) Whats the weather like in Winter and Summer ? Thanks xx

Answer:
Hello, I don't know anything specifically about Rochester but i can answer a lot of your general questions about Michigan and the US. Michigan is larger than Scotland by about 60,000 sq. miles. Remember that the state is split into 2 parts...the part that looks like a glove and the peninsular portion along Lake Superior. In the Us you need to be 18 to buy tobacco products, but you need to be 21 to buy/drink alcohol...and this is very strictly enforced. However, you can get your driver's license at 16. Michigan can have safe areas and not so safe areas. If you go to inner-city Detroit you will find lots of crime, but if you go out into the suburbs it will be safe to be alone at night. Just know where you are going and whether it is a good neighborhood or not. People in the Midwest are in general very friendly. They are very open and can sometimes be very nosy and ask questions that might make people from more reserved nations uncomfortable. In winter Michigan is pretty miserable. High winds, VERY cold (think into the negatives FAHRENHEIT!) and it gets lots of snow. At the beginning of the day there might be a few centimeters of snow on the ground and a few hours later there can be snow up to your waist. The summers are hot and humid. Think up to 30-35 degree centigrade on a bad day. Lots of sun, but it can also get really intense and you will be happy if you live in a place that has air conditioning. Remember that the US has a continental climate (as opposed to the UK's maritime climate) so you get extreme heat and cold throughout the year in many of the states.

I have a 71 Chevy impala with 350 2 brrl Rochester carb. Car lacks power going uphill and even stalled once.?
Question:
I initially was having problems when I accelerate on flat ground. The car would jerk for a bit and then just stall. I took it home and changed the spark plugs out and it ran fine, but just the other day it stalled out going up a hill. The next thing I was going to do is change the fuel filter if I can find it. What else should I check?

Answer:
Fuel filter is located where the gas line attaches to the carb . there should be a large nut there .Remove distributor cap and look for cracks and wear on the electrodes . Replace points .Then ohm out spark plug wires they should be no more then 15k ohms. Make sure the coil has a good ground . Remove coil and clean with 200 grit sand paper

Who here thinks that voting in rules should change when it comes to elections?
Question:
I am really upset when I hear people talk about "issues" that they have little or no knowledge about. I get angry when people throw around numbers and statics that really are not facts. I get angry when people say that such and such is a FACT when really its just there opinion. When it comes to Elections, I think that only educated people should be making the decisions that effect each other. For example: I live in Michigan and Detroits Mayor Kwamie Kilpatrick, Lives in a Mansion, drives expensive cars, and take exotic vacations etc. However, Go Vist detroit, Minus the Down Town area where ford field is, Detroit is mainly run down, too many people on welfare, and too many people homeless. Gangs and Violence rain the streets. I can make sense of why the Mayor lives so richly but everyone else is poor. If you visit Oakland county were I live, Bloomfield Hills, Rochester hills, Troy,Briminham, that is the Middle to upper class people live. The mayors there don't live in mansions What is the best way around the issues? Who should be doing the voting?

Answer:
education or financial resources cannot be barriers to voting in much the same way gender and race cannot be. You complain about the mayor's lifestyle whose money is he using to live extravagantly? I would venture to guess his own. Elected officials have salaries that are not that high and most provide the mayor with a home unless they choose to live in their own house. If they move into the city/town's home they do not own it they move out when their term in office ends. So all in all it sounds like you are one of those people who if we took your view should not be allowed to vote because you do not investigate facts.

Any And EVERYONE Who Knows Anything About Cars Starting. Speak Your Minds... Out of Ideas. 1972 Chevelle 350?
Question:
This car is driving me insane getting it started. Granted, I have knowledge of motors and cars but I can't seem to figure out what my friends and I are doing wrong. Ok with this car, we have been replacing parts left and right. It has sat for over 10 years but a couple months ago, we started replacing a lot. Here is the list: Starter, battery, alternator, distributor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, head gaskets, thermostat, intake manifold gaskets, hoses, belts, cables, water pump, air filter, fuel filter, fuel lines, fuel pump, installed new fresh fuel draining all the old fuel out. Adjusted the valves four times (we know they are good), checked timing way too many times and that is good and probably some other parts I am forgetting. Anyway, I bought a rebuilt Rochester 2GV carb from a guy with the same exact car as mine (1972 chevelle 350 A/T 2 barrel carb.) He said he ran it on his car and it worked fine. Installed it on mine and the car improved. When I go to start it, it turns over extremely well and gets really really REALLY close to starting but won't go over the hill to say the least. Itll go vr-vr-vr-vr-vr-vr-vr-vr-VR-VR-VR-(and just about ready to vroooooooooooom) but it won't do that. Just turns over really fast but won't go fully and start and idle. With these cars, it should "mumble" or hear the muscle car sound when idling or turning over for that matter. But when we turn it over, sometimes you can hear the muscle car sound but others, all you hear is just regular turning over like a regular toyota or other import car. Not picking on them, but you cant hear the muscle car sound when my car is turning over. Sometimes you can, others, nothing. About 50/50. So anyway, I look down inside the carb. If you move the throttle cable back and fourth, you can see the accelerator pump pumping. See the fuel squirting. Sprayed starting fluid in there, and nothing happened. Just turning over regularly. I know sometimes before, you can actually hear it take affect when sprayed in there. It'll actually start and then stall right away. But today, it wouldn't take no affect. Checked timing light, and the timing is correct. So then, we took the fuel line off at the carb and turned it over, and there was only a lil' bit of fuel coming out. It has gas but not a lot of fuel was spitting out. Hmm....? Like I said, when I hold the gas pedal down, it'll get really close but just won't go over the hill and won't even start with starting fluid dirctly in there. I have no idea what else to do. If I hold it turning over, it feels like it'll blow up. Not really, but it won't go vrooooooom, just keeping turning over faster and faster and faster. What the hell? Anything you can think of? No vacuum leaks, everything is where it is supposed to go and it is torqued correctly. Everything. I imagine the fuel pump might be an issue. But let me know. I have no idea what else to check. Only 47K original miles on motor - the cam lobes are fine. Anything you can provide will be awesome? And what makes an engine go vrooooom (over the hill) and idle? Because mine isn't. Thanks Distributor is HEI MSD Street Fire. So Ballast Resistor is not used. Good spark too. Let me know anything to try

Answer:
it sounds like your distributor is 180 degrees out. ot will fit but not start.

Question:
Melanie was drowning. Drowning in people, that is. They were packed against her on every side, and she could scarcely breathe as they pressed closer. The metro squealed to a stop, and she was forced to throw out a hand and grab the metal pole before she fell. “Mind the gap,” enunciated the automated voice as the doors slid open. “Buckhurst Hill, Central Line.” “Is this our stop, Miranda?” She asked the woman next to her. Miranda checked the slip of paper in her pocket and nodded. “Is everyone else in the next car?” A tall girl squeezed her way through the throng of people. She was stunning, with her dark locks and large blue eyes . “I’m here, as well.” "Hey, Wynne,” Melanie replied before stepping out into the dimly lit tunnel of the London underground. “Let’s go quickly, I want to take the BMW. You know I hate the Porsche.” For the majority of car-lovers, this statement might have seemed a sin, but all of them were used to exorbitantly priced cars, as Miranda adored them. And could afford them. The three of them hurried up the steps and into the car park where they had left their cars, bypassing the red Porsche but sliding into the nondescript charcoal ride that was parked beside it. Melanie rode shotgun beside Miranda, who started the car’s ignition. “Caleb’s all right, you think?” She asked Miranda suddenly. She turned the wheel and increased the gas. “Why shouldn’t he be? He’s twelve years old. I swear, you mother him more than I do,” Miranda teased. Melanie smiled vaguely and shrugged. “Don’t know,” she murmured. “Just…a feeling. Never mind, it’s nothing.” Her eyes returned to the road that was slowly disappearing in front of them. When they finally reached the inn at Rochester, Melanie kicked open the low door before the car stopped and took off at a run. You’re being silly, she told herself firmly. He’ll be sitting there reading a novel and grinning at your panic. So there. She fumbled with the lock but managed to slide the key card into its holster and waited until the light blinked green. Melanie shouldered the door open and burst in to the suite. No Caleb. No, that wasn’t possible. It was a large suite. He had to be there somewhere. “Caleb,” she called softly, not wanting to wake him up if he’d put up an early night. She checked his room, and the next one- both were undisturbed, still as perfectly made up by the maids as they had been earlier. “Caleb!” Panic consumed her like a wall of fire. Since Miranda had gotten custody of her (Melanie still hadn’t the faintest idea how, as Miranda was neither related to her nor an appointed guardian, so she could only assume some tricky finagling had been in order), she had adopted both Miranda and her son Caleb as siblings, and was fiercely protective of the boy. “Caleb, I swear, if you’re…” she trailed off as Miranda strode in, Wynne at her heels. “I knew it. I can’t find him anywhere.” Miranda held a finger to her mouth and pointed at the armchair on the far side of the room, where the boy had fallen asleep. “He’s just there,” she whispered calmly. “Honestly, Mel, you’re the most logical, cool-headed person I know, but when it comes to him you’re positively mad.” She sighed. “I know. Okay, sorry. I am. I just..” Melanie smiled fondly at Caleb, reaching out to smooth his dark hair out of his forehead. She lifted his hand- knowing the he was a deep sleeper- and ran her long fingers lightly across his knuckles. “You know how I feel about him. He’s more than my little brother. When he gets hurt, I’m as bruised than he is. Anyway, ’night.” Yawning, Melanie padded off to the double room she shared with Caleb as Miranda went into the one where Wynne now dozed. Please, please be honest! Tear into it. Be brutal, I need it! Rate it on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best book you've ever read, 1 being something that should never see the light of day. And BE HONEST. I want to learn from my mistakes! I know it seems like it's really dull so far... but here's a bit more. Makes it more dramatic. “Get up, Melanie! Damn it, Mel, get up!” A voice was sobbing. A hand pushed her shoulder roughly. "Shove off," she mumbled sleepily. "Leave me alone." "Caleb's gone, Melanie!" Melanie was awake and pulling a T-shirt over her head, jerking socks on. "Have you looked everywhere?" she asked, blowing past Miranda and into the suite's living room, where Wynne was already waiting. "Of course," Miranda snapped. "And I've called the inn's front desk, as well. He's not in the hotel." "Have you called the police?" Her fingers already began tapping her cell numbers. "Melanie." Miranda gently prized the phone out of her sister's grasp. "You know the police can't help us. I think we both know who took him." Melanie met her gaze for a long moment before pulling away. Caleb, her heart screamed.Where are you? "Phone," she muttered frantically, hands skittering across it before tossing it into a small bag. "Knife, poison. Anything else?" "What are you doing?" Wynne asked, seated on the edge of the sofa. Her hands were twisted in knots and her sweet face was creased with worry. Melanie hated to leave her friend but Wynne couldn't help her now. "Finding Caleb. Miranda, take care of her." She shook her head, faintly adding, "You can't do that, Mel. You're not going to go looking for him alone. Wait for Anya or William to come. Delia, Craig. Or Simon! Wait for Simon." "Are you crazy? They're hours away! He'll be dead by then. And you know he hasn't got a talent to protect him. If the wraiths have him, Miranda..." Melanie trailed off. "I'll be back soon. I hope."

Accident!!! Will my license be taken away!?
Question:
I just turned 16 on December 6th i live in Rochester Mi and today i got into an accident i did not see the car coming because there was a hill so i turned and then they hit the back of my car, i have insurance and everything, the cop said he will show up on our court date and be on my side too try and not get points put on my record and just make them fines my question is could i get my license taken away? or just get point on my record?

Answer:
Nobody can answer this. We don't have all the facts. If you caused the accident, maybe, but more likely it will be suspended. What I'd worry about more is how much more expensive car insurance is going to be.

why was I found guilty for speeding?
Question:
hi, I got a speeding ticket in up state Ny, by rochester. I am from massachusetts. I got the ticket in december, the officer said I was going 76 in a 55m he clamed he hit me with laser. I pled not guilty, and filed for a discovery, and they denied the discovery. I wanted to know the all the Usual stuff. anyway part of my argument was that If I were to have been going 76 miles per hour, I would have been going at the speed of 111.46 feet per sec. the officer was coming up a hill to an intersection from a 90 degree angle, when he turned his lights on. sence he was moving would not he had to deduct he spped from mine? also I argued that sence I was going 111 feet per sec, I would have passed the 20'-24' wide intersection at less than 1/4 of a sec. how could he cheched my speed with a laser gun ? also because the beem is so small it would be so small how could he hit my car with it? well I just was not going that fast. when the officer came to court he didnt bring thing with him just his testamony. I asked Him all the questions like did he have the gun calibrated, was he trained to use it, and he just said yeah. but he didnot prove it. The judge just asked me if I had any proof that I was not speeding, such as pictures, or any witnesses, and I didnt really have anything, so I said to the judge, this sounds like I am guilty untell proven innocent. he said yeah that is pertty much it. also he gave me my fine, and I didnt think about it untell I left, but that paper with the fine was allready printed out , sitting on his deskwith my letter requesting a discovery, before I came in the court room. so it seems as if I was guilty, even before I came to court. also it said the court has accepted my gui.lty plee???? I didnt plee guilty????? how is this justice? sence when are we guilty until proven innocent???? what ever happend to innocent until prooven guilty????? what ever happend to cop and judges bening here to serve you??? now all it seems like they are just after your money. especaly in NY, and the cops seem just like they have become just revenue officers.

Answer:
"would not he had to deduct he spped from mine?" His machine would work that out. "how could he cheched my speed with a laser gun ?" They latch on quickly. That and the tight beam is why LIDAR gets used rather than RADAR. Anyway it probably picked you up earlier than you think. "also because the beem is so small it would be so small how could he hit my car with it?" They point it at a big reflective target like the hood or the licence plate and it locks on quickly. "well I just was not going that fast." Then you got screwed over big time by the system. "when the officer came to court he didnt bring thing with him just his testamony. I asked Him all the questions like did he have the gun calibrated, was he trained to use it, and he just said yeah. but he didnot prove it." He gave evidence that the gun was calibrated, that he was trained to use it. Evidence under oath is pretty significant. Unless you had some proof to the contrary all the proof would point in one direction. "The judge just asked me if I had any proof that I was not speeding, such as pictures, or any witnesses, and I didnt really have anything, so I said to the judge, this sounds like I am guilty untell proven innocent. he said yeah that is pertty much it." So the cop alleged that you were speeding, that he caught you with a radar gun, and that it was calibrated and he was trained. Against that was the testimony of a person who had been accused of doing something that almost everyone does and no proof of intention is required for the offence. You should have prepared more. You had a theory. Why didn't you take photos and make measurements that would give it some support? "so it seems as if I was guilty, even before I came to court. also it said the court has accepted my gui.lty plee???? I didnt plee guilty?????" Perhaps the judge doesn't have much confidence in self representing people accused of speeding to present a decent case. He might be getting cynical. I don't know why the pleading guilty thing was on. Did you say that you weren't speeding? "how is this justice?" It isn't the system is there to make money. If you don't like it join the NMA. What is the point in asking others about it?
