Freaking out about not having a car in lincoln park?

someone help me stop freaking out, i am moving to lincoln park in chicago soon and will not have a car so will have to rely soley on public transportation and am taking a few night classes, I know its a nice neighborhood and all but need some reasurrance, someone tell me if its ok before i freak out.

I love Lincoln Park, count your blessings you can live there, car or no car. My favorite part is "Old Town", but you are right, it isn't really serviced by the Subway, -unless you walk to the Ravenswood line at Sedgewick, or the Red Line at North and Clybourne, but there are tons of buses on Clark Street and North Avenue, or etc.

Can you park your car at the Lincoln Harbor station on the Hudson-Bergen light rail line?

I tried to get a parking pass so I can park my car and I was told only my roomate can get a pass but I cant. Ask the landlord if you could be added to the lease as a resident not a tenant. It might cost a few bucks. Make sure you specify you don't want to be added as a lessee, only a tenant.

Parking in Chicago - Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park, Lakeview?

I'm moving to Chicago from the suburbs and am looking at apartments in Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park, Lakeview. I do have a car and can't really afford paid parking, so street parking is a priority. I plan on using CTA to get to get to work daily, but will still use my car a lot. I know parking anywhere in the city is rough, but I'm not sure which of these neighborhoods is better. I have a feeling I know the answer when it comes to Wrigleyville (that parking is a nightmare there during Cubs season), but I'm not sure about that or the other two. I don't trust potential landlords to give me an honest answer, so I'd appreciate any tips.

You've actually chosen 3 neighborhoods with worse than average parking; try considering Rogers Park, Andersonville, Bridgeport, and maybe even Old Town.

I've just recently started commuting to Lincoln for work and found that the car parking charges are extortionate (£7 a day in some places!!). The cheapest I've found is £4 a day. Does anyone know of any cheaper than this, or even free?! Thanks

It's locked down fairly solid. Depends on where you are working. There's always the Tescos at Pelham Bridge, but it's a fair walk along Portland Street to get to the High Street, or across Pelham Bridge itself to get to Broadgate. There's 2 places on St. Rumbold Street, NCP I think, then it's going to be streetside parking on Monks Road area if you can find a space.......and if you trust the locals not to help themselves. Perhaps the retail parks on Tritton Road might have free parking.... Glynwebb? I haven't worked in Lincoln for years,so don't know if there's clampers. You might need to take a drive around looking for signs. What about parking at Birchwood and getting a bus in. North Hykeham railway station?

1995 lincoln continental just out of no where will not go into park position. I was going down the street to the local store when i got there and found a park space could not go into park. i tryed forcing but not to hard, had to leave in N with ebrake on. any help plz thanks The only thing I did was hit the brakes at about 70mph after that it wouldn't go into park..

If that has the AX4N or AX4S or similar transaxle, you can inspect the parking pawl mechanism by removing the oil pan of the transaxle.

When I shifted out of park this morning in my 2002 lincoln Ls, my radio shut off. Happened several times.?
