if i have my car impounded in lansing michigan what will happen if i dont get it out?

Answer:
They will eventually sell it to recoup the costs of towing and storage; if it is in a private impound lot it is usually after 30 days. It is still possible that you will be liable for any charges that are not covered by the amount of money your car brings at auction. They might be able to have an action against you in civil court. Don't think that they can do any criminal charges.

Buying a car at an auction in Michigan, Can I travel through Canada from Ny to get there quicker?

can you live in east lansing without a car?
Question:
i am applying to graduate school programs and all of the programs i am looking at are in the midwest except that i don't drive. i am look at east lansing (michigan state), ohio u, indiana u at bloomington, u kansas in lawrence and a few others.. are any of those places doable without a car?

Answer:
You don't need a car at IU Bloomington if you live on campus or in an apartment near campus or a bus line. You can walk, bike or take a bus (free to students) just about anywhere you need to go. All students pay a mandatory transportation fee that covers the cost of campus or city bus transportation. You can take a shuttle (not free) to the Indianapolis airport when you want to go home. The university discourages freshmen by having cars on campus by assigning them parking spots near the athletic facilities and requiring that the cars be moved elsewhere when there is a home football or basketball game.

I am reloacting to Lansing, Michigan. I have no idea how to live in that cold snowy weather. Any suggestions?
Question:
when renting apartment what to look for? How to protect from Cold when going to office in morning by bus? Is it a good idea to buy a car. 3000 dollars. and what kind of problems a car may have in that cold weather? Should I buy Warm clothes from CA or go to Lansing Mi and buy them there? Are they cheap there. And what kind of clothes. Any other suggestions for health in that cold weather? Thanks

Answer:
*Apt - gas heat should be included in most apt communities. In my experience electricity isn't usually included. There are a lot of apt review websites, such as this one: http://www.apartmentreviews.net/ *As others have said, layers! When I take my dog out I often have to wear 2 pairs of socks. Scarf, hat, very warm coat. Lansing has a nice outlet mall too. http://www.tangeroutlet.com/howell *IMO a car is best but you may do ok w/the bus system. *As others have stated - a very cold car may not start. However, I've lived in Michigan my whole life and can't remember a time my car didn't start due to the cold. *Health wise - wash your hands (a lot!), use those hand sanitizers. Take vitamins (especially C). Colds are more common in winter but not due to the cold. People are inside more which makes it easier for viruses to spread. Best of luck with your move!

how many miles from Michigan to California?
Question:
hey i wanna know a question: how many miles from Lansing Michigan to California pasadina. If i can figure out how many miles would it take to drive in a car that far. i can figure out the gas cost. i want to know in a straight through ( no other state stops ) i want to know how much money it would cost to make a trip like that.

Answer:
From Lansing to Pasadena, it is roughly 2300 miles, according to Yahoo Maps. This will take about a week to drive, weather permitting. It would be about a 33-hour drive IF you could go non-stop, or if you have several people to split the driving chores. Plan on AT LEAST $400 each way, depending upon what the fuel costs are averaging at the time of your trip and what kind of mileage your car gets.

Should I thank Obama and the democratic congress?

All is good in Michigan, thanks bro - "O"

Cars in Michigan cost more than California, wtf?
Question:
Man, what a rip off here in Michigan. I moved here in Sept 2011 seven months now. I'm 28 and working out here. I been vehicle shopping on Craiglist and the price is ridiculous. I can't find a reliable and decent looking vehicle within my price range ($2,000-4,000) but I really want to spend the most is 2,000. I checked Kelly Blue Book and it shows the difference comparing the two states. It doesn't make sense shouldn't it be the other way around. I sold and bought on Craiglist before so I know what I am talking about. I also have cousin and friends I went with plenty of time to check out a car. I seen A LOT of vehicles posted on Craiglist in Michigan and most of them look like sh*t for the price I really want to pay. What you will find in Michigan Craiglist for a $2,000 vehicle. - rust, nothing but rust. Big a*s rust holes like a bunch of termite chewing thru the metal. - 200k mileage and up - 1996 model and below only, maybe now and then you'll find a new model in this price range - don't run and look like sh*t like a gernade was thrown at it and they're trying to sell it for 2,000 - lots of dents - salvage title - major mechanical issues - people post from out of state like Kansas, IL, IN or place that are 3 hour away (you almost never see that kind of posting in CA.). I mean really who will drive 3 hours to go check it out by the time you get there someone in that area bought it. What you will find in California Craiglist for $2,000 - 90k -180k mileage anything over 200k the price really have to drop BUT not in Michigan! - no rust at all - 2009 model and below, usually the new model that sell cheap have issues but you can still find a lot of them selling in the 2,000-3,000 range. - basically something decent no dents, decent mileage, and everything functional. Anywhere from 1,200 - 2,000in California that's literally the average and you'll still get something decent. If your from Michigan don't take this the wrong way. I have looked in Batte Creek, Lansing, Muskegon, Holland, GR. just about the whole West Michigan area. I'm still looking. I am just surprise at the cost I guess this even it out since the cost of living here is a lot cheaper.

Answer:
Supply and demand my friend, it's a kick in the shorts
