I got pulled over with a permit and no adult HELP?
Question:
Well, I got pulled over while having a permit and no adult in the car. I am 16 years old and I've been eligible for a license for 2 months now and I was wondering what my consequences are going to be. I live in Berkley, Michigan and my sister told me that the Berkley Judge was really nice. I wrote him a letter explaining my case and I'm wondering if I should send the letter to him (will he read it?) or present it to him there live in person. I am also wondering if getting my license before the court date would be better and if I could even do it. Can I get my license even though I got pulled over before my court date? Would it help? Please I need answers and fast HELP!!!!!!!!!!! And by the way, the officer gave me a Civil Infraction for going 5 over the limit, going 35 in a 30. In Michigan, you need a licensed driver age 21 and older in order to operate a vehicle with your Learners License (which is what i have), I've had my license since May 27, 2011 and have been eligible for my license for 2 months. I decided not to get my license because of insurance purposes that my family couldn't afford, I went about a mile away and back and he stopped me for speeding. This was my first encounter with a cop and I didn't know what to do so I nodded my head and agreed to everything he said, he asked me if I had my license and i said no I didn't, but I never told him I only had a permit and when he asked if I had my license I just panicked and said yes, by the way he pulled me over 4 houses away from my Mom's house. I planned on writing the letter to the judge so I can clear things up but can anyone please tell me anything that will help in any way!!! I just said I've had my license since May 27, 2011 but I meant to say I have had my LEARNERS LICENSE since May 27, 2011, over 8 months

http://autoinsurance.bebto.com - compare how the insurance rates would change for your case. You can easily check it online.

I recently got pulled over for running a red light. I need to take the points off my record . How can I?
Question:
I ran a red light, not to spite the police, but in accident (this happened in Berkley, Michigan). I was given a ticket for the violation. Though no points were specified on the tickets (they rarely are), I am positive they will be put on the record. I am prepared to to pay the ticket, however I was wondering how I may prevent the points going on my record because it will severely increase my car insurance. What procedure may I undertake to take the points off? Thank You!! ** On a side note, some of the passengers in my car were underage and under the influence. They received MIPs ( I imagine that this would affect how I may try to take the points off my record)

Answer:
If they put points on your license, they will stay on for around 3 years. If you think you have a case, you can try to fight it in court...if you are acquitted, no points, but if you are convicted, you will pay your fine PLUS court costs PLUS attorneys fees, and STILL have points on your license. If you take a defensive driving course, your insurance company may choose not to raise your rates (especially if you are a first time offender). You should call them and ask. But the bottom line is this: You broke the law and drove recklessly. The police put a notice of this on your license, and your insurance will go up because you have proven yourself to be a higher risk driver. What part of this system is unjust?
