Road test in massachusetts , please help.?
Question:
Has anyone taken their road test/driving license at Donohue's Driving School in Hudson - Massachusetts ?! If not u can still answer me if u took in another driving school. If yes, was it hard ?! Who goes with you on the car ?! How long does the road test take ?! What do they ask you to do ?! (Please I need help :( thanks all)

Answer:
I found this and its very informative and best of luck.... While state legislators debate the appropriate amount of time a teenager should spend behind the wheel before getting a license, they are mute on the subject of driving tests. Massachusetts has no regulations governing the length of a driving test – the final barrier between a teenager and the legal ability to operate a two-ton vehicle. Although state officials mention a goal of 20 minutes, a survey of 459 Massachusetts high school students conducted by the Boston University Statehouse Program found that 56 percent were tested for 10 minutes or less. Another 29 percent said the test took between 11 and 20 minutes. Only 15 percent said they were tested over 20 minutes. State police administer a test using a 12-maneuver checklist as a guideline. The checklist includes: pre-driving checks, starting the car’s engine, using hand signals, moving and stopping the vehicle, parallel parking, backing up 50 feet, starting, stopping and turning the vehicle on a hill, entering and leaving intersections, three-point turns, obeying traffic lights and signals, conducting left and right turns and using “good driving skills.” A majority of teens surveyed by the Statehouse Program said they were tested on at least seven of the 12 maneuvers. But only 41 percent said they were tested on more than 10 of them. The most common testing points left out of the exam were hand signals, parallel parking, backing up 50 feet and stopping, starting and turning their vehicle on a hill.

Please help me with these questions. This homework will be graded, and I just want to make sure that my answers are correct. There are 50 questions in all, and I am only posting 7 questions, so please don't make a big deal out of it. I already have my guess on all of them, and as I said before, I just want to make sure that they are right. You do not have to solve it, just find the equation. Thank you. 1. Darrell and Joe enjoy reading adventure books. Joe has read 3 fewer than 5 times as many books as Darrell. Joe has read 17 books. Which expression shows how many books Darrell has read? a.) 17 - 5a b.) 5a c.) 5a + 3 d.) 5a - 3 2. Erin is reading a book that has 192 pages. She has already read 80 pages. If she reads 20 pages each day, which equation will show how many days it will take Erin to finish the book? a.) 20d = 192 b.) 80 - 20d = 192 c.) 192 + 20d = 80 d.) 80 + 20d = 192 3. Which inequality describes how many more miles he has left to drive? a.) d ≤ 75 b.) d ≥ 75 c.) d ≥ 125 d.) d ≤ 200

Answer:
It would be nice if you put your thoughts down so we have a starting point on how much to explain, rather than giving the answers. Here are some hints to send you in the right direction (I'm using my own notation in hopes that it'll make more sense about who is who): 1) Joe has read 3 fewer than 5 times as many books as Darrell: J = 5D - 3 Joe has read 17 books: J = 17, so 17 = 5D - 3 Which expression shows how many books Darrell has read? Which option above looks like 17 = 5D -3? 2) Erin is reading a book that has 192 pages. She has already read 80 pages. If she reads 20 pages each day, how many days it will take Erin to finish the book? You can use the concept of the slope intercept form of an equation to find this. Remember y = mx + b. In our case lets use y = total pages, m = number of pgs she'll read per day, b = number of pages she has already read (x is the number of days). Sub in the numbers and you'll have it! 3) Do this the same way as #2 4) Do this in the same way as #2,3. The difference here is that you know x (number of months) but you need to find m (monthly fee). 5) same as #2,#3 6) If the auditorium can hold "at most' 250 students that saying that the auditoriam can hold less than or equal to 250 students. There are already 140 in the auditoriam and we want to know how many more we can add so that we have less than or equal to 250. So think: 140 + s ≤ 250. Use this info to find the correct solution. 7) Is at least means no more than, which means less than or equal to. Use this understanding and what you learned in #6 to figure it out. I have given you more than enough that you can figure this out. Especially if you managed to complete the other 43 on your own! Best of wishes!
