What's the best way to get from the Greenbelt Metro to Columbia Maryland?

Is there an MTA Bus line that goes between these two points? I can't figure it out from looking at the MTA website, and the office is closed. I am car-less and am trying to get to Columbia for Thanksgiving tomorrow. #1 - The MTA Commuter buses are not operating on Thanksgiving and there is no commuter bus from Greenbelt to Columbia. #2 - The Metro B30 bus is operating on holiday schedule between Greenbelt Metro and BWI Airport. The cost is $2.10 with a Metro transfer or $3 without. #3 - The Howard County Transit buses have no service on Thanksgiving. #4 - One can see if Supershuttle is available from BWI to Columbia for about $25 each way - a lot cheaper than $80.

Apartment Handicap Parking in MD?

I have MD issued Handicap tags and live in an apartment complex in MD. The problem is that there is a handicap parking space in front of the building next to me (approx 10 spaces away from the parking spaces in front of my building) and I don't feel that it is close enough to my building. When I first signed the lease I requested a labeled space close to my building, as I have seen this done at other friends apartments and I was turned down (I have actually seen the spaces marked as "reserved for apartment ## at other complexes) Now, I have lived in my complex for almost 2 years and I only park in the reserved handicap space when nothing is available in front of my apartment. Recently there seems to be more people parking in my parking lot and lots of people are thinking it is just fine to park in the handicap space without proper tags or placard which makes me have to park in the next lot across the street. I am not one to bit** but this always seems to happen when I getting home from the hospital or doctor when I really feel like hell and don't want to walk the extra block to my house. In my last apartment I was given a marked spot directly infront of my space but when I called the police about illegal parking I was informed that the space did not state the "correct fine" so they could not tow the car. The space at my apartment does not state the "correct fine" either so I know I will not be able to have the cars towed. I really want to know if it is illegal for my apartment complex to 1. not grant my request for a closer handicap apartment space and 2. not place the correct signage up for the handicap space so violators will be towed I have recently spoken with my leasing office about this matter and they told me that I need to go to the MVA and request that a sign be installed, pretty much that it is not their problem! This seems to be a boat load of BS to me, and I feel that they are discrimating against me. Does anyone know the handicap parking law in maryland that can help me? First off, the police telling you that the fine must be posted on the sign is a steaming pile of BS. In the Maryland State Transportation Code, § 13-616.1 paragraph (f)(1) makes absolutely no mention that the fine be posted, the "Symbol of Access" (the blue wheelchair) is enough. The fine is $130 unless your local county or city government chose to make it higher (many do). The dispatcher or officer you spoke with may just be the dumb one at that precinct; if someone parks in your spot again, call the local police non-emergency number repeatedly until you get someone who will take the call. Get the captain or a ranking officer involved if you have to. The rules on where the HC space is placed and how many there should be is a Federal law, not just Maryland. I put the link to the full regulations below, but to sum up: 1. There must be at least one HC space per 25 regular ones (I'm paraphrasing) 2. According to 4.6.2 of the ADA guidelines, an HC space must be located "shortest accessible route of travel from adjacent parking to an accessible entrance" One last thing, if the ADA email is not getting back to you, call them: 800-514-0301 Little clarification, the ADA is a law, not an organization. It is served by the US Dept. of Justice, Civil Rights Division. They have a special section just for Disability rights: http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/drssec.php EDIT: I just looked up Howard County's local parking enforcement code (Section 21.212) It clearly indicates the police department can tow and impound any vehicle that parks illegally in an HC and there is absolutely NO requirement that the fine be posted. You failed to mention the price and APR's applicable to the 09 model, so how can you compare the 08 except with regard to generalities? Assuming that the prices are the same, but the .9% APR will only be given to the 08 and the higher APR's to the 09, you will be saving $3,660. vs. the 5% on the 09. So if the depreciated price after 5-7 years is lower by 10% with the 08, you are just about even with the 09 since you saved almost the same amount with your payments. But 5 to 7 years from now, the used car prices of both would not really be far from each other, and in fact, mileage and general condition would dictate the selling price of each (so theoretically, the older one can sell for a higher price than the newer one). Remember also that the 08 and the 09 are one and the same, except for some very minor trims, which if you did not know about, you would hardly miss. Now for the clincher. With the 08, you save money that you can put to other use (again theoretically, it can even earn you money). With the 09, you spend money which you "might" be able to recoup after so many years of usage, but with no interest. Lastly, I have not known BMW to sell anything new for less than invoice plus a certain amount. But it still is your decision, and this is only my opinion.
