The Greyhound website didn't want to let me pick Annapolis as a starting location. But after some time I was able to force a search for buses from Annapolis to NYC. For one-way trips the standard fare was $55.50, web fare was $49.95, and refundable fare was $63.50. Judging from their websites BoltBus and Megabus don't operate out of Annapolis; I doubt any Chinatown buses do so either. The Amtrak website didn't have any tickets from Aberdeen for less than $64. What is the quickest way to get to Annapolis, MD from Washington, DC?

Specifically, I want to know what the quickest way is, by metro, train, bus, taxi, or any combination of the four, to get to St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, from American University in Washington, D.C. According to Google Maps, the distance is 36 miles but it would take about 55 minutes to travel by car (most likely due to traffic I'm guessing). I've heard people taking the metro to the New Carrollton station and then taking either a commuter bus or taxi from there, but the buses only run during rush hours (which might defeat the purpose of trying to avoid traffic) and a taxi trip from there would cost about $50. Even though it's expensive, Is that the quickest way possible? Or is there a quicker/less expensive way?

Least expensive option is a bus service such as Greyhound. It is also a pretty quick trip, but remember all vehicles on wheels will be subject to traffic jams. Annapolis is about an hour away, any way you travel. If you have a car, go ahead and drive. You won't save barrels of time by using public transport, anyway.

What should I do for my 18th Birthday?

I want to tour Annapolis, Maryland and then drive up to New York City for my birthday. the best way to figure this cost is to go to mapquest.com and put in your starting point and your ending point and figure out how many miles to drive there and how long it will take. Then use their fuel cost tool and figure that out. Then, go to a few different car rental sites and find out how much to rent a car for the time it will take to drive there AND back and however long you are going to stay. Don't forget to put in the cost of hotels on the way there and back and the cost of food while you are on the road. THEN go to expedia or orbitz or travelocity and price tickets for you and your family to fly and rent a car for only the time you will be on the east coast and compare the differences. The year is like 2020 in New York State, and a man wakes from his bed and finds his son, and wife missing, and his house is completely trashed. He walks out to find the town he lives in completely empty. He doesn't remember what exactly happened to his family, but wanders around to eventually find a small resistance army that takes him to a resistance camp. He meets with the council of the rebellion group. A scout comes in to tell them that there is a U.S army camp holding prisoners in Annapolis, Maryland. The leader, Commander Hector allows him to take seven highly trained soldiers with him to try and retrieve his family from the U.S army. they attack us camps together, and the main character develops skills on the way. Eventually the team is ambushed and the only survivor is the main character. He must try to make it Annapolis on foot from Pennsylvania. He eventually hijacks a car and drives there. when he gets there he tries to sneak in with skills he acquired from the resistance fighters. He gets caught by the U.S army is sent to prison in the basement of the camp. When he is down there a huge land war breaks out between resistance fighters and U.S army soldiers. Once the war settles down he escapes from the prison, and runs out to find his family. He is told my a half dead soldier that the resistance took all the captives and are holding them in their secret base, which he knows the location of. He takes a U.S tracking device and turns it off. He hijacks another car and and drives to the resistance fort in New York State. Before he sneaks in he puts the tracking device on, and tries to kill Commander Hector. He fails, and gets killed by Commander Hector’s bullet. They lay his body out in the center of the camp, and start to dig a hole. The tracking device starts to bleep, and a resistance fighter hears it. Thousands of soldiers come to the camp, and the resistance loses. In the future, you see the main character’s son as a commander, and he explains that he defeated the resistance once and for all.
