Does anyone know a way to get a rental car at the Osceola, IA amtrak station?
Question:
My grandparents and I are riding the train from Ft. Morgan, CO to Osceola, IA and we need a way to drive from Osceola to Kansas City. Is there any way that we can get a rental car without leaving the Amtrak Station in Osceola?

Answer:
You can use the Yellow Pages to find rental car companies in the area, or you can use one of the national ones like Hertz, Avis etc. Any rental car company will deliver the vehicle to you for an additional fee. Some of the smaller ones will even deliver it for free if they don't have an office in the vicinity and they are trying to improve their market share.

Why did J.P. Morgan Donate 4.6 million dollars to the NYPD?
Question:
'JPMorgan Chase recently donated an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple. The money will pay for 1,000 new patrol car laptops, as well as security monitoring software in the NYPD’s main data center.' http://www.davidicke.com/headlines/54153-jp-morgan-chas e-donates-46-million-to-nypd-

Answer:
Do you think it's a coincidence that JP Morgan, a major Wall Street finance institution, made the donation in the same period with all the protests going on in NYC about the policies and practices of the Wall Street institutions. Many Americans are outraged about how the financial institutions reaped all the benefits of the allegedly criminal acts during the bubble and then got all the benefits of the hundreds of $Billions in taxpayers funds ... never paying it back and never facing justice or even consequences of their actions... while at the same time, more Americans than ever face foreclosure and loss from the subsequent deep and lasting recession and unemployment. Could it be that JP Morgan would like curry a little more friendliness from NYC's finest in a time where some folks are so fed up with what they see as larceny on maybe the largest scale ever -- the "too big to fail" scale... people are so fed up that some are willing to take to the streets.

Which is the better and more up-to-date business model?
Question:
Two well-known companies close to where I live: 1. Morgan Cars. Run by relatives of the village blacksmith down the road in Barnards Green. Cars are made in much the same way as they were in the 1930s, with bits put together by the hands of old blokes in overalls. They refuse to modernise and have a 10-year waiting list for their cars. 2. Royal Worcester Porcelain. Established over 250 years ago. Produced some of the finest pottery anywhere in the world, with an impressive skill base of master ceramic artists. Taking expert advice from financial consultants, recently outsourced most of their work to cheap labour abroad using the Royal Worcester name, sold the works site for prestigious city centre housing at the peak of the market, but kept the retail outlet to maintain a traditional image. Forgot to say - the remaining part of Royal Worcester and Spode (a similar long-established pottery in Staffordshire, which was merged in accord with modern commercial thinking) closes down on 30th April. All that will be left will be the pottery museum. Morgan cars is still in business and about to expand into the old Civil Service social club site next door.

Answer:
I would submit that #2 is not a business model at all. "Kept the retail outlet to maintain a traditional image." Image isn't a product, it is a kind of lie, and sure as heck is no guarantee of quality. Truely, that 10 year waiting list says it all.

OPINIONS: After students ejected for wearing American flag, Hispanic students march to show support for Mexico?
Question:
"Hispanic students leave school, march to show support for Mexico" http://www.morganhilltimes.com/news/265448-hispanic-st udents-leave-school-march-to-show-support-for-mexico More than 200 Hispanic teens skipped school Thursday and marched through Morgan Hill yelling "We want respect!" and "Si se puedes!" At least six Morgan Hill police cars and several sheriff's vehicles caravanned alongside the line of teens wearing red, white and green and carrying Mexican flags. The crowd - mostly high school students - left school Thursday morning after the story of four students who were sent home because they wore American flag T-shirts went viral on TV and online. A war veteran, William Quenneville of Morgan Hill, was at City Hall while students protested on the front lawn as the police caravan kept a close eye on the whistling and hollering students. "These students chose to be part of civil disobedience," Quenneville said. "There's a much more respectful way to do this." At least one resident said she was attacked by the mob. Jennifer, who wanted to keep her last name private, said she was at the World Gas Station on Monterey at 11:50 a.m. Thursday when the march rolled past her while she pumped gas. "They yelled 'dumb white b*tch!' at me," Jennifer said. "Police were everywhere, so I asked them if they were going to do anything, 'that's why we're here' they said." "You have a right to be proud of it," Jennifer said. "But you don't have the right to disrespect every other race."

Answer:

Does New York City have a plan to make parking and car ownership more affordable?
Question:
I kept a car in Manhattan for almost three years - during my last 1.5 as an undergrad at Columbia, and then for more than a year afterwards, after I began my job with JP Morgan (which I later quit because I wanted to move back to TEXAS, a real state). It was really expensive and often inconvenient. Street parking was so inconvenient that I finally caved in and bought a parking spot at a 24-hour garage. The cost? $645 PER MONTH!!! And then it WENT UP by $50! Jesus Christ. What plans does NYC have to bring those costs down? It's a huge hardship on people who commute into or around Manhattan by car.

Answer:
apartments in Manhattan are 1 million plus there are no plans to get the parking lowered

Why do mexican americans find the American flag so offensive when they live in the USA?
Question:
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/05/t ensions-high-in-fallout-over-students-wearing-american-flag-t-shi rts-on-cinco-de-mayo/1 Tensions remain high at a California high school where four students were sent home this week for wearing American flag T-shirts to school on Cinco de Mayo in what an assistant principal considered a possible provocation toward Hispanic students. As the story gained wider attention, about 200 Hispanic students from Live Oak school skipped classes on Thursday to march to Morgan Hills city hall to express their displeasure over the action by the four on Wednesday on what many Hispanic students consider the equivalent of a national holiday. "I think they should apologize 'cause it is a Mexican Heritage Day," Annicia Nunez told San Jose's KNTV. "We don't deserve to get disrespected like that. We wouldn't do that on Fourth of July." Parents of the four students said the boys were just being patriotic and displaying their individuality. The boys, who have since returned to school, said administrators called their T-shirts "incendiary" and said they would lead to fights on campus, KNTV reports. As the controversy swirled, the school district issued a statement calling the incident "extremely unfortunate" and said it was investigating. "While campus safety is our primary concern and administrators made decisions yesterday in an attempt to ensure campus safety, students should not and will not be disciplined for wearing patriotic clothing," the statement read. During Thursday's march, several cars and trucks bearing American flags repeatedly drove past the crowd, The Morgan Hills Times reports. The teens responded by yelling "Give us respect!" but some screamed obscenities, the newspaper reports. At least three people driving yelled derogatory slurs at the largely Hispanic group.

Answer:
Various reasons. Some are bigots, but some fear they might be evicted and that is possible. If the economic conditions overpopulating cultures like them cause by flooding the labor market with excess workers undercutting wages gets much worse, they could become scapegoats. Reactions from Euro-cultures here for centuries could turn into pogroms. They did in Eastern Europe over a century ago when overpopulation of Orthodox Christians pushed Jews west. Then the native cultures were the overpopulating ones. Ironically for the Latinos, most of that problem is now caused not by them but by grossly overpopulating Asian cultures sucking away whole industries to their ultra-cheap, desperate excess labor; but that won't help the Latinos caught in the storm of resentment as the economies around the world sink lower. As overpopulating Asians pump out ever cheaper labor taking the last of the jobs away from Euro-cultures, who stopped overpopulating and prospered a half century ago, things could get really nasty. PS: Annicia Nunez is lying. Cinco de Mayo is not a significant holiday in Mexico. It is only here. Also, for years Mexican immigrants have put up Mexican flags on the Fourth of July and native citizens here have not made a big issue of it; or bigoted PC media paid no attention to their objections while they broadcast far and wide Latino complaints now.

Answer:
This isn't going to be PC, so if you're brain-dead and, because of that are easily upset, don't read this. In my humble opinion, the administration who sent the kids home for expressing their support for their country should be fired... no tenure... no pension... no benefits. The Hispanic kids should be expelled for skipping class for no reason. Here's the deal. "America" doesn't hate Mexicans. Mexico, last time I looked was on the American Continent. Technically, if they learned how to read, they would find that it's called "Central America." People in the US don't generally hate Mexicans. Personally, though, I do have a problem with people who sneak into this country illegally... on whatever pretext... from Mexico... or any other country... and who claim they own it... require me to teach classes in their language because they're too stupid or too lazy to learn ours (were you to go to their countries, if you don't speak their language you wouldn't get an education)... who cheat the system by not declaring income, and because they have no (declared) income, they're able to get welfare and other benefits... and who for some moronic reason seem to think they own this country. I have an aversion to people who enter this country illegally, don't even attempt to become legal citizens, and, as criminals (breaking the law entering the country, and by not making any effort to legalize their presence here), expect protection by the law. I checked with an attorney, and the only legal right an illegal alien has is to be deported. They're have no legal recourse. They have no right to incarceration. They have no right to a trial. They have no right to fair and humane treatment. Mexico NEVER owned any part of California. Spain did. And Spain swiped it from the indigenous "Indians." And the Indians didn't own it either. They immigrated from North Eastern Europe over what is now the Aleutian Islands, but what were then a land-bridge between the two continents. And they killed the former residents (the animals), and ate them. The fact is, that no real estate is actually "owned" by people. It's acquired and occupied. Sometimes it's acquired by purchase, sometimes by war, and sometimes people just move in and occupy land that nobody else seems interested in defending. Every once in a while, the Earth tries to remind us of the fact we don't own the lane. Every once in a while there's a flood, a fire, an earthquake, a hurricane, a tsunami, a tornado, or other natural occurrence. As for the illegal aliens, that's what they are. They are, by definition, illegal because they broke the law by entering this country illegally. They know it's illegal because they sneaked in. And they intend to remain illegal because they don't do anything to legalize their residence. They are criminals by intent. They are aliens by definition because their loyalty is not to the country in which they live. Their loyalty is to the country they pretend to have left. An "immigrant" is one who renounces his/her loyalty to the country he/she left, adopts the laws and culture of the country he/she selects as a residence, and assimilates into that country as a productive citizen. We have legal aliens. These are people who are here on student visas, or for medical purposes, or maybe a work visa. We have illegal immigrants. These are people who have been forced to flee from their country, but who, in their flight, were unable to secure the proper paperwork, but who are in the process of legalizing their residence. And we have legal immigrants... people who entered the country legally with the intent to be come citizens... productive members of this society. It is the 23 million illegal aliens from Mexico that are souring the citizens of this country against that country and the people who come from there. And that goes for quite a few Hispanic citizens of this country too.
