the girlfriend is on his insurance policy, but for some reason when he switched insurance co they never took his deposit out of his account so the insurance never started, this all happend in one month. anyway, the person who was badley injured's attorney is callin my son and treating to sue him. he was at work, he had no idea she was even driving his car that day, actually when she had the accident was when he found out she had it and he said to bring it home right now. any how, can he be sued even though he had nothing to do with the accident, and she was the one driving? he is 20 she is 19.

Owner of the car Can be sued. Name On title even if there is a lien on the car. Driver of the car can be sued. Counter Suit will need to be filed. But your going to come up with good game plan. Also Insurance company can be sued, if a Policy was Opened and Both your Son and His girlfriend are on the policy. Effective date of the policy is when it purchased the day your in the Office or Filling out the on line app. for Progressive and excepted. Side note. You stated Insurance was never started... That statement is used in to many statement's in civil cases that go to trail. 50% of the time come back it was never filed for. 10% couldn't get approved when in the insurance companys office due to past records and couldn't get insurance that day. 15% were cancelled by the Insurance company because of past record of any party that wasn't disclosed when filing app., Tickets, wrecks, credit history problems, etc... If your son has the Policy Insurance card Look at the date on the card thats the start date to the expired date. Its Not when they take the money out of the bank if a check is used as payment. Also get a copy of the police report and if a ticket was issued for no insurance you might have more problems. Good Luck...

Ok in two months im taking a trip. I live in springfield Ill and am going to wichita kansas. I have an idea about how much money ill need for gas, but I need another opinion. I have a 95 ford mustang with a v6 3.8 engine. The trip one way is 510 miles.
