Illegal Drag Racing Ticket?
Question:
Well tonight a bunch of us were cruising threw lenexa kansas, and we got to an area that was all flat, no cars or nothing. So we decide to go fast, Well i pull away from everyone and a cop gets me. Well I got 2 tickets for Basic Speed Rule, and Drag Racing. We werent fucking drag racing. When the cop saw me, he only saw me speeding, there was no one to the side or behind me for a good 1/2 mile. Im also 16 years old and problay fucked. I want to try to fight this ticket. Ill plead guilty to basic speed rule which is $90, but not guilty to drag racing. All he did was see me going fast, no clocking or nothing. What are my options? If any.

Answer:
@ Roger, no racing is a competitive thing, driving fast in a group isn't. Its like the differnce between racing someone on a bicycle, or merely riding together with gusto. But to answer your question Brian, they purposely overcharge everyone so they can cut you a "generous" offer youll accept. For example, I was racing motorcycles, and they charged me with (felony)evasion, which I certainly wasnt doing. Then they made a plea bargain to get me to confess to racing. It worked.
