Does anybody have a 2000 Dodge Stratus SE? Question about back seat?
Question:
On my Stratus the bottom of the back seat does not lock in. It just kind of sits there. I've tried to google this to get an answer but nothing comes up. So I'm hoping somebody has an answer for me. My question is...Is the rear bottom seat just supposed to sit there? My husband is in Louisiana at Fort Polk for training and I know nothing about cars. I'm not able to call him but I want to figure this out because I am due in August to give birth. So I really want to know if this back seat situation is a big deal or not. It seems like it would affect the safety of my child if we ever got into an accident.

Answer:
the 2000 model is about just like the 98 and i own one of those and 2001 model and both fasten down with latch under the seat,if you,ll pull it up you,ll see a latch under the seat this will help you in getting it back in and locked down, you have to push back on them real hard to get them to latch, good luck.

My fan belt sliced a hole in my tranmission hose, I was charge 80 dollars forthat, which I think was too much.
Question:
As I drove my car to a service area my shifter got stuck and wouldn't shift to park. The man told me that for the hose to be fixed it's $80. For the new shift cable he told me $287.00. I told him that I will get my own cable because he said that it cost $93.00 for that and $120.00 for the labor, but before that I ask him how much he said $287.00. I ask him for everything he said no the $80.00 for the hose being replace, I think he's taking me for a ride. What could I do to report this and find out if it's the right price. And where could I get a shift cable at for a 1998 dodge intrepid. I'm located in New York, but my car is in New Jersey, Fort Lee. Could someone please help me with this. If you can fix cars and know what you are doing contact me and I'll bring my car to you, if you're close to me.

Answer:
Ive just my transmission line on a 99 Dodge Ram. The line cost me $60 at the part store. So 80 sound fair for the trans hose. Now for the cable that's high. The shop markup there parts to make money off of them. They all do this. Just one of the reasons I do all my own work.

Pricing for road trip.?
Question:
I'm taking a trip from Fort Dodge IA to Arlington TX and back. This is a total of 1656 mile trip. My car gets 17-23 miles/gal. I have a 15 gal. tank. If i estimate gas to be $4.00/gal. how much would my trip cost? I came up with $288.00- $360.00 is this right?

Answer:
Yea thats pretty close

want your opinion on this parent. Be honest?
Question:
'Mean mom' sells son's car after misdeed Wed Jan 9, 5:39 PM ET DES MOINES, Iowa - Jane Hambleton has dubbed herself the "meanest mom on the planet." After finding alcohol in her son's car, she decided to sell the car and share her 19-year-old's misdeed with everyone — by placing an ad in the local newspaper. The ad reads: "OLDS 1999 Intrigue. Totally uncool parents who obviously don't love teenage son, selling his car. Only driven for three weeks before snoopy mom who needs to get a life found booze under front seat. $3,700/offer. Call meanest mom on the planet." Hambleton has heard from people besides interested buyers since recently placing the ad in The Des Moines Register. The 48-year-old from Fort Dodge says she has fielded more than 70 telephone calls from emergency room technicians, nurses, school counselors and even a Georgia man who wanted to congratulate her. "The ad cost a fortune, but you know what? I'm telling people what happened here," Hambleton says. "I'm not just gonna put the car for resale when there's nothing wrong with it, except the driver made a dumb decision. "It's overwhelming the number of calls I've gotten from people saying 'Thank you, it's nice to see a responsible parent.' So far there are no calls from anyone saying, 'You're really strict. You're real overboard, lady.'" The only critic is her son, who Hambleton says is "very, very unhappy" with the ad and claims the alcohol was left by a passenger. Hambleton believes her son but has decided mercy isn't the best policy in this case. She says she set two rules when she bought the car at Thanksgiving: No booze, and always keep it locked. The car has been sold, but Hambleton says she will continue the ad for another week — just for the feedback. I think this is a good punishment. Hopefully my kids when that age arnt as abusive of a privilage like this boy was

A question for all my fellow car salesmen (especially in the southeast), How much are you making?
Question:
Hello there my salesmen brothers and thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Ok, so I am a "top dog" subaru salesman in busy metro NY NJ area. Me and my girl just went down to the fort lauderdale area and we love it and might want o move down there since houses are A LOT cheaper than where we are at 200 vs 350k for a nice 2 br 2 bath. I work floor and internet at a 60-70 car per mo. highway dealership with good traffic and I am doing 20 cars a month and made around 70k my first year including all spiffs. My question really is, can I expect to be able to make as much selling cars in the fort lauderdale area or will the pay suck? (obviously not subarus, maybe dodge, honda, or toyota) PLEASE ONLY ANSWER THIS IF YOU ARE A SALESMAN, I dont wanna hear about your uncles cousins brothers friend. So... florida/georgia salesmen.. how much are you making a year, and what bracket are you in (ie are you top 10-20%, average, just ok)

Answer:
First of all, in response to LB, it's common for car salesman to talk about how much they make, it pretty much tells the story of the dealer, the market, and the salesman. Subaru, in our area is an ok car to sell, congrats, that's a lot of subaru's per month, that's not the easiest car to sell around here. I sold subaru in a dodge/subaru/suzuki store, and we only sold about 20 subaru's a month, tops. I hated selling them, no money in them, the buyers are too cheap. So to make 70k at a subaru only store is great. I expect, that you will do well in any store after dealing with these clients. Try getting into a highline dealership down there. A lot of highline cars are sold in Florida, and they always make money.
