Looking for information on moving fish to Cedar Rapids, IA - part 1? Question: I am moving to Cedar Rapids, IA at the end of this month- and will be moving two of my fish with me- a Ryukin (7”) and an Oranda(4”). Information I am looking for: - Further advice on moving fish safely 7+ hours by car? What I've got so far: - I am planning on using a 10-gallon (solid blue) Rubbermaid tub with a lid to hold the fish for travel, and will keep it out of the back window and away from air-vents - Clean the tank 1 week before the move - Not feed them for 2 days before the trip - Try to move at least 50% clean tank water with me - Aerate the water (air-pump & stone run from a car-power adapter) since the trip is longer then 4 hours. Cedar Valley Humane Society Cedar Rapids Iowa? Question: hey I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with them. ive had two in the past 3 years and would like to get them to stop doing the things they do. the first thing was we sent our Dog Buddy there for a week for Dog sitting. when we went to get him back he was terrified of people any movement that we made scared him he was also pink due to they gave him a red blanket and his cage was always wet the whole time he was there he was sick and his whole underside was scabbed and sore. he also had a huge fear of feet so my Guess is they kicked him a lot anymovementt we made with our feet he would growl :(. wefinallyy somewhat broke him of his fear but he still had it he would try to snip at our feet problems we never had with him before then. he ended up a year after all this going blind the vet said it was from the stress of being there and going thru all that. after another six months we had to put him down the vet said it was for the best i miss my puppy so much :( i wish hewouldn'tt have had to go thru that. The 2nd one was 2 weeks ago my uncle had a beautiful bluehealerr in the country and the kids that lived down the street always try to get it to follow them to there house to play ball with them. and the Dog would then go home after they were done playing. the mother of the kids was getting pissed that the dogkeepp coming onto her yard. anyways. my uncle lives downstairs in his house and rents the upstairs out. the Dog makes a sound when u pick it up. the guy who rents the upstairs is friends with my uncle and the one day he heard the dog make its sound he ran to the window to see who picked it up and he saw the mom of those kids car pulling out of the drive way. after my uncle got a call at work about it he went over to the shelter to see if the dog was there and what do u know he was. my uncle said that it was his dog and he wanted it back. they said if he singed this paper that it would take care of getting him back. so he singed it but he didnt know that the paper made him give all his rights away to the Dog. and that now the only way to get him back is to wait for him to be adoptible then he can pay $180 and get his Dog back but i find it funny how the fee is only $125 for dogs there so why would he have to pay $180?(i also thought the point of the shelter was to help people find there animals and to find them homes? not to make money) Anyways im vary upset with the shelter and they either need to get someone smarter and better to take over or shut it down me and my uncle loved our animals they were our best friends and this place ruinedd them if u agree with me or have a story plz tell me about it id love to hear Thanks for reading :D sorry about my messy story and the way i write i have a hard time writing and thinking at the same time :( the dog was slowly going blind from it but he showed that he was almost completely blind a year later. and i did talk to the people in charge and they didnt give a crap about it. also my uncle isnt the kind of person who stirs things up. and the whole family has tried talking to staff about it and has went in multiple times and they don't care about what he has to say. they just took his dog nuterd it and now its up for adoption the dog was slowly going blind from it but he showed that he was almost completely blind a year later. and i did talk to the people in charge and they didnt give a crap about it. also my uncle isnt the kind of person who stirs things up. and the whole family has tried talking to staff about it and has went in multiple times and they don't care about what he has to say. they just took his dog nuterd it and now its up for adoption Answer: |

OB Dr. with extended hours or weekend hours? Cedar Rapids, Iowa area? Question: HELP!! I just switched jobs and will be working 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday-Friday. I am also 23 weeks pregnant with my first child. Although I know my workplace understands my situation, I am required to request time off (ANY missed work) 2 weeks in advance. Because of this, I have already missed my last 2 OB appointments. I drive about 30 minutes to work one way, and my husband also works in the same building as me with the same hours. We only have one car, and it makes it almost impossible to get to any of my appointments without missing a significant amount of work. We really need the money right now and can't really afford to miss any hours. What I was wondering is if anyone knows of any OB clinics that are open late or see patients on the weekends??? And if so, do they accept Medicaid (title 19)? Any suggestions would be more than welcome. Thanks!! Answer: Just call around or look at the office websites. That's the best way to find out. |
