How long will it take to Greyhound from S Carolina, to Iowa?

Tomorrow i'm traveling from Ft Jackson, South Carolina, to Cedar Falls, Iowa, by means of charter bus. On Mapquest, that's 17 hours by car, about 1000 miles. Any idea how long i could expect it to take on a bus, if i left friday at noon? I'm guessing i'd arrive late sunday. How often does the bus make stops for food or other things? What should i expect or come prepared with? I've already got a Nintendo DS and an MP3 player to pass some time until their charge dies. Thanks!

Niagara Falls Honeymoon Advice?

My fiance and I are getting married May 15th, so we started looking at honeymoon options. We won't have a lot of extra money, so we were limited as to where or what we can do. We are 22 and 23 years old. We are planning on taking our honeymoon to Niagara Falls from May 17-22. We live in Michigan, and we plan on driving to save on airfare. Here's what we plan on doing: Hotel - Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview (Canada) for most of our stay, but possibly a cheaper one for a night or two. Attractions- Maid of the Mist Journey behind the Falls Wet Jet Boat Tour Cave of the Winds If time, then I'd like to go to the aquarium or do the Whirlpool cable cars. We plan on being at Niagara from the 17-20th, then we wanted to do something fun on the way home for a day or two. Cedar Point is on the way, so we were contemplating stopping and having some excitement and silly-fun at the end of our trip. This is in the air though, as we have been there before. Not sure what else is along the way from New York to Michigan, when passing through Pennsylvania and Ohio. Ideas are welcome! Any advice? I think this sounds really fun, and we cannot wait!

That sounds like fun I live about 20 minutes from the falls so its nothing special to me but to do all that for your first time you'll have a lot of fun. There is also a part of Canada right there called clifton hill...there are a few restaurants/bars some wax museums, haunted houses and that sort of thing. There is also the casino there if you are into gambling. Have fun! Cedar point is a great time also :)

How shall I paint (white) a new cedar picket fence? It was installed last fall so it has weathered 4 mos.?

I will be helping to paint this fence that belongs to my family. So ultimately I will not be making all of the decisions. First of all - I know the fence ought to be STAINED, not painted. But they want a white picket fence. So it is going to be painted white. they should not have bought cedar in this case. But that is water under the bridge. Next, they seem to think that "we" will be sitting on chairs with brushes and priming the entire fence and then painting it. The fence is huge (around a corner house). When the idea of using a sprayer comes up it is met with contempt because it will spray 'All over cars, grass, and other peoples houses." Is it me...or are they making too big of a deal about this??? Wouldn't any professional painter use a sprayer? Wouldn't painting it by hand take FOREVER??? What should be done and how should I explain it so that I am not one of the people sitting out there with a brush all summer long????

My granny has a picket fence and that's a chore every year. Someone had to come and replace pickets or entire panels and repaint the flaking ones. It's a pain. Painting a picket fence by hand is the worst. You have to get four sides of the picket and four sides of the support boards, then you do the posts too. You get paint all over you and your hands cramp like you're 93. Using a sprayer is much much easier but you can expect to buy more paint this way since a lot will be over sprayed. I totally agree with your second paragraph. I cannot fathom covering up a beautiful cedar anything with paint. Blah, the horror! My only suggestion would be to white wash rather than paint the fence. At least you could save a little grain to show through. I know you've thrown in the white towel too but I still don't get why they bought cedar to paint... But letting wood weather doesn't mean you can't stain or paint it. It actually should adjust to its new outdoor environment before you do either.

i'm 14, i have always hated doctors, the school made me go see a GI because i have missed too much school.. but i got a MALE doctor...i am a lesbian, with an avid disgust for men...and they asked me to put on a gown so he could do a rectal exam..i threw a fit and hypervenelated and cried the whole 2 hour drive home...i refused because that is second to rape in my opinion and i went outside and threw up 6 times...and ran off and got in the car and cried hysterically. now i feel like shit, and im still crying...i dont know what to do. i feel so disgusted, and my dad wants to admit me to the psychiatric ward as an inpatient!! he's schizophrenic and always thinks I am insane...that hurts a lot...i'm not insane..i just would have been FAR more comfortable with a female doctor,..and i dont see why they have to get all invasive on the first appointment anyway. my regular doctor said we would just talk and do bloodwork...please help me. i feel like...wayyy violated. i cant stand the bulky hands and spitty grumbly voice of big nasty men. i can hardly see one on the street without freaking out.. i just dont like them. my mom know's this but there are only males in my state...(iowa) and the only female specialist in this field is in cedar falls...which we dont know our way around in. and i am just scared to death now... i really want to get this figured out. i've been like this since i was 9. but if i have to go through the torture of a doctor even seeing me naked... i will feel so...TERRIBLE. i'd rather just be sick. i'm fine the way i am!!! there is nothing wrong with me. just because men creep me out doesnt make me insane! thats just the way i am. live with it. it hurts me

on october 11th i got served a no contact order?

She claims that I had called her at work threatening to take my son back about three times on the dates of october 7th and 10th. i for that matter didnt make those calls to her. i am trying to get ahold of my call logs from my phone for those dates listed above to prove i didnt call her at work. i havent spoken to the A mom for a long time. I am being taken to court in illinois, i reside in iowa. i have no means of having a lisence or car to get there nor do i have the money for a lawyer. i need some major support and help! i have documents of copied internet websites from her printing out my last years facebook status posts and old texts from last year 2010 also. i supposably have a twitter account. i dont not have an account for twitter at all. This Christmas I was going to ask my girlfrined who I have been going out with for 5 years to marry me I was going to take to see the sun set at a park here in town but now there has been a problem she was going to come back to my house for christmas But she needed to find a rid over here from her cusens house we tried her sister and she said that if had her brakes fixed on her car by then that she would bring her over on the 24th and now her sister has told her that she cann't do it at all so we tried to get my mom to go and pick her up after work but she is saying that she cann't because she ha to get up at 6:00 in the mornning to go to work and then we have to go to my aunt house over in owine and my girlfriend is in cedar falls so my Question is I am planning on asking her to marry me on either the first of next month or that weekend I just don't know exactly how to go about asking her or at what time I mean should I take her out to dinner and then ask her or should I do it a different way. Tall trees over 100 feet tall I need logged with a crane or similar device, not "tree topping service"becuase?

Most are "pole" quality.Sitting on 2 - 3/4 acre lots.They are in my backyard and behind that is a "green belt" property where they can be felled in between my neighbors houses. What is the most profitable, safest way? At least 2 dozen trees need to be logged. My neighbors tree recently fell on my 2 cars, totalled out both. I don't want my trees taking out a neighbors house in the next storm.Any positive advice is greatly appreciated on procedure (crane with cutter that cuts and gently lays down the tree?) Thanks! If you want to sell poles, although hemlock seldom is harvested for poles, you certainly don't want to cut the trees from the top down. A good sawyer can fall every one of them into that green belt without a bit of hazard to your neighbor's homes. A more expensive alternative would be to hire a tree harvester the holds the tree in a grapple while it shears the stump, then lays the tree down. You then trim the butt and cut to length after the tree is on the ground.
