Chapter 1: First Night

Finally work is over now I can go relax and unwind with my three favourite guys. Luke is one of my best friend and is dating my co-worker and best friend Melanie, next there is Damien, he is the best guy i have ever known he also has the most gorgeous green eyes anyone has ever seen, And is also best mates with my boyfriend Stefan, which then brings us to Stefan, Stefan moved to Lafayette, Indiana 6 months ago, everyone assumed him to be a bad boy by the constant trouble that followed him but he isn’t so don’t let those big blue eyes fool you. Then there is Melanie but everyone calls her “Mel” , she has blonde hair and hazel eyes and is an exceptional friend. And then there’s me my name is Rebecca and I have brown hair and blue eyes and I am 19. Me and Mel work at the Red Roof Inn together we met here three years ago, we also share a room here as we get to live here for free, and then came the news that two new guys were starting and moved in down the hall and that’s how we met Luke and Damien.
“Ah finally we can go home and relax” Mel said
“Are you going to come to the boys and have a drink tonight?”
“No, not tonight I’m not exactly feeling all that good so I think I might just have a shower and crash but I will see how I am feeling after having a shower ok?”
“Yeah, sure”
“Wonder who it is” I asked pulling out my mobile
“Who is it?”
“I’m not sure it’s a private number” I said before answering. “Hello? yeah sure. It’s for you”
“Hello? Who is this? Excuse me? Who are you?!”
“What?”
“I dunno he hung up”
“Who was it?”
“I have no idea, he wouldn’t tell me his name he just kept saying ‘will you meet me?” and I was like who is it? And he wouldn’t tell then he hung up.”
“What a creep”
“I know right.” Melanie replied
“Hey guys whets happening?” Damien asked.
“Hey not much Damien, how was work for you today?”
“Yeah not bad Bec, are youse two heading to our room tonight?”
“She is I’m not” Mel pointed out. “I’m not feeling that good so I’m going to have pass this time sorry let Luke know that I’ll see him tomorrow morning yeah?”
“Yeah sure I can do that night Mel see you soon Bec”
“OK bye”
“Night”
“Alright well while you shower I am going to get ready but I will wait for you to get out before I take off cool?” I asked Mel as I unlocked the door.
“Alright I won’t be long” Melanie called as she walked into the bathroom.
As I was walking around getting ready my phone suddenly rang again. “Hmmm that’s strange it’s that private number again. Hello?”
“Hi is Melanie there?” said the voice on the other line.
“No sorry she is in the shower, can I leave a message, like a name?”
“Just tell her to meet me at Lafayette field by midnight or she’s dead” the voice said suddenly sinister
“Who is this? Don’t make threats about my friends, now I don’t know how you got this number but I suggest you delete this number and don’t ever contact me again or I will call the police got it?”
“Click” the dial tone was heard on the other end of the line “Creep”
“Aw good you’re out I’m going to take off but promise me something will you?” I was trying to be subtle so I didn’t scare her.
Mel nodded her head “Sure anything”
“OK please don’t leave the room, I am going to lock the door when I leave and I will only be gone for two hours or so” I remembered back to the time when my mum and dad had said this to me when I was fourteen, that was the night they were both killed in a freak car accident and I was sent to live here with my grandmother. She passed away two years ago and I couldn’t afford to keep her house and that was when I got a job here and the manager told me I could live here so I took him up on the offer.
“Is everything ok Bec?” Melanie had said pulling me back to what was actually happening.
“Yeah totally just don’t leave the room ok?” I said as I walked away “we are all only just down the hall if you need us so give us a call or something, Night” I called to her before shutting the door and locking it. As I made my way to the liquor store that was just down the road, I couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching. As I travelled further and further away from my home it felt as if a penance was burning into my back when suddenly I saw something move out the corner of my eye, I remained very still for what seemed to be a long time “ oh your being ridiculous Rebecca, just keep walking it was probably a bird or something” and so I started walking.
“Boo!”
Realizing who it was I held in my scream before making a fool out of myself “Jesus Stefan, you nearly gave me a heart attack, what are you doing?”
“I went to your room to see where you were and Melanie had told me you were on your way to the store and said if I run I could catch you so I did, Surprise” He said with one of his cheeky grins.
“Well just don’t scare me like that again; otherwise I might do some serious damage.” I said trying to sound tough but failed miserably.
