Are there any places in Central Indiana that restore Classic Cars?
Question:
I know of Vales in Greenfield, but that's it, and I can't seem to find any resources on the internet. We've got a 65 Stang that we can't do all the stuff on it. We have the carpet (not molded) but we don't know how to put them in, transmission won't go into 3rd, and there are no seats or instrument panel. We have all the stuff, but we don't know how to get it in there now! (Our family member who worked on it passed away- I've been on here before with general questions about it) We know Vales put the new engine in. (302 v8) and we *think* that they looked at the transmission, but we're not sure. The horn doesn't work either, at least not yet. I've not tried it when the engine is actually running. The factory AC freon needs to be drained and replaced too.. The exhaust pipe is also fixed temporarily (it will hold safely), but will need to be put on there correctly. Also, do you know of any business that put in custom stereos? We want to keep the dash all original, and put the receiver (like where you can plug in an Mp3 player and adjust volume, select cd's and radio stations) in the glove compartment, and put the actual CD system in back. We'd have to get out to actually put new cd's in or out but who cares? It's better than A.M. all the time. Money is not a major issue; if it was the car would just be put back in the other barn or we'd take it to our local mechanics in our small town *shudder*, but we would like to spend the money to get the stuff done by people that REALLY know what they're doing. We still don't want to pay too much for no reason, but if it has to be done, it has to be done, and the money is there to back it. Any suggestions and networking?

Answer:
Are you aware of Hillyer Restoration in Plainfield? I think they specialize in Mustangs. A bit further north in Somerset is McCoart's. Check out their website, I think you'll like what you see: http://www.mustangmaker.com/index.html If you haven't already, I'd recommend checking out one of the big Mustang forums on the web. They will have forums specific to your model and your state and they are Mustang freaks who will know everything you need to know, including being able to recommend local restoration shops. Try this one: http://mustangforums.com/forum/index.php Good luck!
