Does the Tinley Park Amphitheatre in IL allow re-entry during the middle of the shows?
Question:
Wondering if I buy drinks/food and leave them in the car, will I be able to run out during a band I don't want to see and then come back in. Sometimes places will stamp your hand or something.

Answer:
No, they do not. Due to the large size of the crowds, it is very difficult for them to do this effectively. Sorry :( Candy ps you might be able to sneak some of the food in and maybe a sealed water bottle

Public Transportation from downtown Chicago to Tinley Park?
Question:
I'm going to a concert in Tinley Park soon and I need to know the fastest or cheapest way to get there. I live in the South Loop of Chicago right now and I don't have a car. The concert will be at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park. CTA, Metra, Pace, or cabs seem to be my only options and none of them provide a direct route to and from the venue (except for a cab which would be ridiculously expensive). Anyone have any idea what the best combination would be? Also, not all public transportation is 24 hours, and the concert is from 7 PM to probably 11:30 PM, and I might be staying even later in hopes of meeting the band! :) Any advice or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Answer:
Take the Metra from LaSalle Street Station to Tinley Park - 80th Avenue Station. That station is probably less than 2 miles from the concert site. (It's the Rock Island line.) Here is info on two local taxi companies. I don't know about their hours of operation, etc. Orland Taxi Services (708) 349-7888 Tinley Taxi www.tinleytaxi.com Orland Hills - (708) 614-5399

What's the best way to get from Metra to MW Bank Amphitheater in Tinley Park?
Question:
I'm going to a concert at Midwest Bank Ampitheater in Tinley Park, IL later this month. I live in South Loop and don't own a car, so I'm taking the Metra. What's the best way to get to the venue from the Metra station? Is it too far to walk? Is there a good place to lock up my bike? Or do they have shuttles that run from Metra to the amphitheater? TIA!! I do actually belong to IGo... I just hate to spend the $$ on a car that will be parked most of the time. LOL Oh, and the cost of the parking. Hmm...

Answer:
I live in Tinley Park and ride metra everyday for work. Ok so you probably already know that you want to take the Rock Island District train that leaves from LaSalle Street Station. Now once you get to Tinley Park, technically you have two options: you could get off at the Oak Park Ave. Train station or the 80th Ave. Station. Both are considerably far. While the 80th Ave Station maybe closer you have some highway to cross. If you were to get off at the Tinley Park Station you could walk from the south side of the station to 80th ave, which will be to your right if you are facing south. Take this to 183rd and turn left. Then take 183rd to Harlem. Turn right. You will be on a 4 lane road, and quickly pass over the pass. Keep walking on Harlem until you reach OOdysseyFun World on your left. I believe it is 193rd or 195th. Turn left and fallowing that down to the amplitheather. I is doable but not recommended. I am not positive but I do think there is a cab company you can call and schedule a pick up. Here are some company numbers: (708) 614-9156‎ (708) 444-0717‎ (708) 429-9664‎

What is the difference between an "incident report" and a police report?
Question:
My neighbor was accused of denting her neighbors car. Her neighbor is friends with the Tinley Park police. The cop friend filled out an "incident report" not a police report. Whats the diffrence? And does it get filed with the state?

Answer:
I just phoned the Tinley Park, Illinois police department (non-emergency number) and reached the desk. The Officer I spoke to was extremely nice (and laughed when I explained that this was a question someone had re: incident report vs police report clarification on Y!A.com).. Anyway, he said that an Incident Report is basically a report of any/all incidents that may take place, documenting what has occurred. I take this to mean that it is simply documenting that someone has reported that a crime has occurred, and this report is useful for people who would want to submit this information to an insurance company (such as the neighbor who believes that the other neighbor dented her car), etc. Even though the report may contain the statement of the person filing the complaint, along with various facts..it's one-sided and although it's an official way for people to document their side of things, it isn't as if the officer(s) were dispatched to the scene of the crime and they filed a police report, interviewed observers or witnesses, gathered evidence, or made an arrest. I'm in Los Angeles, and the way it works here is that an Incident Report/Police report is a fairly simple piece of yellow paper that documents the information of the person who has been victimized by crime, their (brief) statement, all of the particulars (such as time, place, what happened..any suspects, etc). It will have the officer's badge number and name, as well as basic information. This report is golden if one has their purse stolen (as an example) since that is what one would need to take to the DMV and have a duplicate license sent, to their bank (to close out accounts and open new), to cancel credit cards and it helps to expedite obtaining all the duplicate or new i.d. cards, credit and debit cards, etc. If one's property has been tagged/vandalized, and they have no idea who is responsible, then obtaining an Incident Report, so one can pass the info on to their home/car insurance company, would be important. In this case, your neighbor is being accused of denting the other neighbor's car and the one who filed the incident report likely wants to submit this to her insurance company, so that she can get it fixed. If she strongly suspects that the first neighbor dented the car, then she may choose to take her to Small Claims Court, or I suppose she could be the 'squeaky wheel' and have it investigated by the police. If there are no surveillance cameras in the area (like for instance if there is a bank or large store near-by) that could have documented the alleged fender-bender, then it's the one neighbor's word against the other neighbor's word. (which means it's a CIVIL MATTER) = Small Claims Court. You could also phone Non-emergency Tinsley Park police Dept.: (708) 349-4111 and speak to the nice officer who answered the phone (you guys are so lucky..phoning and being able to get someone to actually pick up the phone)..sometimes LAPD doesn't answer at all, or you get put on hold.

Would leave your child alone in the car?
Question:
I am not asking if you would leave them to run into the store but if you were going to do something and be in eye sight the whole time would you leave a child under 5 in the car? I always take mine out but i saw this story on the news and she is going to be on dr.phil next week and i think what happen to her was wrong. http://www.imperfectparent.com/topics/2008/03/05/tinley-park-mo m-leaves-child-in-car-endangerment/ What is your opinion on this?

Answer:
i agree that it is wrong! when my son was younger i would too leave him to pay for gas, get a newpaper/milk at a convient. especially when he was asleep. now, he is 3 1/2 yrs old, i take him out for ALL these things because i do not have child safety locks on my door and he can undo his 5-point harness. he will do this and open the door, running across the lot which is unsafe. p.s. i think a lot of parents are lying. my answer states the obvious that once they can get out, they can't be left. but, i find it hard to believe that so many claim to take their kids in at all times to stores. please, i never see anyone taking the infant carrier into the gas station in the pouring rain or having a gallon of milk in one hand and an infant carrier in the other at the convienant. but i do see a lot of kids in cars at these places. ;) i live in suburban chicago, very close to tinley park. i can say people are real sticklers here about leaving your kids in the car. but what that woman did is not child endangerment at all! i have been confronted more than once for leaving my infant in the car to pay for my gas in the winter while they were asleep and temps were quite cold. or, leaving him to go grab a gallon of milk. i've only been confronted by citizens who had no kids with them and told me off and said if they ever saw it again, they would call the cops! lots of busy bodies, paranoid people and such around here. i would have to asume this poor woman had some busy body go to a nearby parked car and asumed she was shopping in walmart (which would be child endangerment.) at this walmart there are security officers which circle the parking lot, that is why they arrived so fast. yet, they still should have been able to see the obvious and let her go!! to Nik, it is NOT laziness to leave a child in the car. this mom wasn't lazy, not sure where you live but in an icy storm on an icy lot, it is more a safety issue and thinking of the comfort of her child that this mom left a sleeping child in the car TO DONOTE TO SALVATION ARMY. People are not too lazy to take their kids out, in fact, sometimes if i have stuff to do, get home, and my son is sleeping in the car (in good weather not hot or cold) i'll think of him first and sit in the yard instead of moving him or leaving him unattended.

What would you have done in this similar situation?
Question:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/video/?slug=chi-shooting-tinley-par k-wn I saw an Oprah show where someone told the audience not to leave the location where you are confronted, i.e. don´t get in a car, don´t move into another room, etc. The person speaking said to RUN!!! Did anyone else see this similar episode. God be with the family and friends of these lovely ladies, and God be with this killer, and bring him to justice.

Answer:
Yes I agree. You do whatever you can do to not be taken to another location. If if that means you are shot on the spot it is actually better than being taken, raped and your body dumped somewhere. I feel it is very important to make up your mind what you would do before anything should happen. The element of surprise and fear can paralyze so it is best to think about things now.
