How would you (without a car) get from Evanstion, IL to Hoffman Estates, IL?
Question:
I am completely without a car and would like to do it as cheaply as possible. spesificly, if it helps its the sears center (in hoffman estates)

Answer:
You don't say where in Hoffman Estates you'd be going, but Pace Buses will get you there and back for $3 each way, but the trip will be long. Route 208 goes from Davis St. to Woodfield, in Schaumburg, and route 699 takes you from Woodfield through Hoffman Estates. There are others from Woodfield that go to Hoffman estates too. http://pacebus.com/sub/schedules/search_results.asp?TYPE=commun ity&KEYWORD=Hoffman%20Estates The catch is that the time in transit is very long because you are on surface streets all the way. It's more that 2 hours each way. Use the RTA trip finder to figure out if you want to go: http://tripsweb.rtachicago.com/ EDIT: The Sears Center is in the Prairie Stone Business Park, there are several pace routes that go there, but the only one that is remotely reasonable from Evanston is one that leaves from the Rosemont CTA station and goes to Prairie Stone, but not specifically to the arena. But that is only a rush hour route going there in the AM and taking people back in the evening. If you're going to the arena for an event, this won't work. The arena website doesn't suggest any public transit options, and it looks like there are none. http://pacebus.com/sub/schedules/route_detail.asp?RouteNo=610 Welcome to the northwest suburbs, car country.

has anyone ever dealt with car dealership bill jacobs land rover in hoffman estates illinois?
Question:
has anyone ever had a complaint against them?

Answer:
I used to, never had complaints though but place is just as busy as Orloff I suggest next time you go to Knauz Lake Bluff you'll be well taken cared of, they pick up and deliver your car for maintenance services and leave you with one of their own courtesy cars, LRs of course.

help! whats the best way to get to get to Arlington heights from the hoffman estates marriot. i have no car :(

Answer:
Probably a cab is your best option to Arlington Heights. The Marriot can suggest cab companies. Check with the people at the Marriot to see if the Pace bus runs near them. Then check the Pace web site to see if the Pace bus runs near your destination. www.pacebus.com I live near that Marriot and while it's a nice hotel there isn't too much near it (walking distance). The hotel has a good restaurant. In a nearby shopping area you'll find a Buffalo Wild Wings and Claim Jumpers - also a Subways, Panda Express and Jimmy Johns. Stores include an Office Max, Michaels, Target and more. The Sears Centre Arena is walkable and there is a new Cabela's close too.

Question about Hoffman Estates,IL?
Question:
I never been to chicago or Hoffman Estates. i plan on going soon but i know nothing about these 2 places. Do you need a car in both areas to get around ?? How far is the Airport from Hoffman Estates ?? Any nice hotels to stay at ? I'll be spending most of my time in Hoffman Estates. Thanks in advance

Answer:
O'Hare airport is about 30/45 minutes from Hoffman Est. Depends on the time of day you are driving and where in Hoffman Est. you are going. You will have to a car in Hoffman Est. Public transportation is very limited. For a nice hotel Just do a google search. there are many hotels in Hoffman Est. The huge Sears complex is there and it is right off the tollway-so lots of hotels. Check out the schedule at the Sears Centre, there may be something going on there. Medieval Times is closed by. Lots of shopping in the area. Woodfield Mall -with IKEA and Game Works isn't too far away in Schaumburg. It is a suburb- lots of restaurants/shopping/movie theaters mostly- golf courses You can take the train downtown Chicago and get around with public transportation for the day. Depending on where you are in Hoffman Est. the train station at Barrington Rd and Rt. 19 would be closest.Which will be south of Hoffman Est. Driving downtown from Hoffman will be a pain. Traffic can be bad and paying for parking is $$. easier to take the train.

Driving from O'hare to Hoffman estates?
Question:
i was wondering if the drive to o'hare to hoffman is difficult. i'm a new driver and i plan on renting a car and drive to my hotel in Hoffman. How is the drive?

Answer:
whatever you do, avoid 290. route 90 doesnt get too bad unless its rush hour when you leave the airport you can leave arrivals, and follow the signs to I90/I94 toward Rockford/Milwaukee. take I90 west to rockford. depending on where your hotel is in hoffman you can get off at roselle, or barrington roads. i cannot stress this enough. check to see where your hotel is on google maps in relation to I90. if its closer to barrington road, get off there, if not, roselle obviously. if you miss these exits, you have to get off at route 59. that is the far west side of hoffman estates. heading east on I90 back to ohare airport, barrington and roselle roads do not have an east bound exit. so the only exits for hoffman estates heading east bound is route 59, if you have to be somewhere west of hoffman estates such as, barrington, streamwood, are close ones. or if you are supposed to be east of 59 the only east bound exit is route 53, which turns into route 290 which is under construction for 26 miles, so i would definately stay away from there if you dont want to spend your entire time in traffic. some major roads that run through hoffman estates are route 72 (higgins road) golf road, which i think route 62. golf road will take you to woodfield road if you head east, if you have the time. its less than 20 minutes if you go at the right time, if your on the far west side of hoffman estates, and im talkin like sears centre west side. also schaumburg road. EDIT: in response to i know for sure-- i mean heading east toward the city on 90 you cant get exit I90 onto roselle or barrington rd.

Does any one know any places that help needy family's get a car.?
Question:
I'm 28 with a 6 year old i'm not asking for a handout just a lending hand. can't afford a car, need one to get back an forth to school. Where i live if you don't have transportation your not going anywhere. there's not a bus schedule for hoffman estates. What i'm really trying to say if anyone knows anything that can help my situation i will gladly appreciate it.

Answer:
I just bought a very cheap used car after having to walk to work all winter. Not fun, so I understand your predicament. Had to worry about getting to work, getting the kid to school, not to mention the loss of freedom to go when you want. There are a few used car lots here that will finance anyone, as long as you have a steady job, good credit not required, but they charge a high interest. Fortunately I got enough back on my income tax to pay cash (700.00) for some basic transportation, and I get 50 mpg to boot. She won't win any beauty prizes, but at least it gets us around! Good luck, something will come your way.

Looking for town in Chicago NW suburbs to live?
Question:
I live in Lake In the Hills and commute to and from my job in Glenview everyday. This is about a 1.5 hour commute each way in rush hour. My wife works in Hoffman Estates. We are looking for a good town to live in somewhere between, but maybe a little up north. We don't like the congestion of Arlington Heights, for instance. We would like a newer home ( < 10 years old) with 3-car garage, full basement, 2000+sqft for around $350k. We want to be in a good school district with no gangs and a good academic reputation. We like being on the boarder of country yet have a Super Target or Best Buy within 20 minutes of us. Does such a place exist or are we looking for something that doesn't exist? One of the primary goals of the move is to reduce the commute. So, Naperville is really nice, but wouldn't reduce our commute since it's so far south.

Answer:
Melissa B has mentioned some good high end places. Desplaines, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Mt Prospect and Prospect Heights are other possibilities. I would get a Rand McNally or Chgo Tribune map of Chicagoland at the local bookstore or Walgreens and then take a drive on the way back from work in Glenview. You can check out the areas and the traffic at the same time.
