Questions Related to east, peoria cars

Provided By Y! Answers

I recieved a speeding ticket in east peoria illinois (the ticket was issued by tazewell county). I was drivin?
Question:
I was traveling DOWN the springfield rd hill coming to the intersection where there was a red light. The cop was shooting radar in the Associated bank parking lot, which is basically right there at the light. The cop claims I was doing 48 mph, my problem is that it is physically impossible to be doing 48 mph at the bank coming to a red light without nailing the car in front of me, I want to fight this ticket. Any suggestions out there?? Thank You Top Cop for your response! It was a Tazewell county officer that pulled me over (which I found strange). Anyway since you are familiar with Springfield Rd hill, can you tell me if the cosine effect regarding the steepness of the hill and the curve before the actual decent down the hill would impact the speed at which I was clocked at? I have had speeding tickets in the past and have always paid without contesting, as I WAS speeding. But I really feel that I was not speeding on this occasion as I live on Springfield Rd and travel down this hill daily (48 mpr coming out of a school zone, taking that curve, and going down such a steep hill approaching an intersection, in my view constitutes reckless driving!!). I appreciate your input! Thank You Top Cop for your response! It was a Tazewell county officer that pulled me over (which I found strange). Answer:
I'm a police officer in East Peoria, IL!!! It wasn't me that pulled you over though! WHAT A COINCIDENCE!! There is one way to fight the ticket: The police officer will first explain to the judge what he says you were doing, then you will have a chance. Explain to the judge exactly what you just explained here. The rest (the judge's decision), you cannot control. EDIT: I actually go to that parking lot to do the same thing (catch speeders) quite often. The reason is because the trees and buildings conceal me when I'm sitting there so people do not see me for a while. Yesterday, I decided to drive down Springfield Road, to see how far in advance you can see the outer edge of the Associated Bank's parking lot. Officers sitting in that parking lot can actually see people well before they cross Stewart Street (the last crossroad before Washington St.) although they are hidden somewhat by trees and a small building. You asked if the hill makes any difference as to how your speed is clocked. The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT. As long as you are not driving at a 45 degree or greater angle (which is impossible on any paved road in the US. as no roads are made such), the radar clocks you accurately. I have actually tested around a bit with a co-worker against his speedometer to see how accurate the radar actually is. We found that it is perfectly accurate. We actually tested it on a steeper hill than that one. I think what happened is you were going faster than you thought, and he could see you well before you noticed him. Since the pavement on that road is fairly new, it creates a smoother, quiet ride therefore making you feel as if you are not going as fast. The speed limit on that road is 35mph. I wasn't there, though, so I cannot say for sure you were speeding. If you want to fight the ticket, go ahead. Good luck!

Answer:
Originally from Decatur I too have moved. If you want a nice smaller town close to Bloomington and Champaign, then you should look at Gibson City, IL. Great parks, all the fast food places, city pool, public golf course, and great downtown.

i got arrested for driving with a suspended license.?
Question:
I got arrested for driving with a suspended license. It was due to an out of state ticket. I got this ticket while going to a cousin's wedding in Indiana; I was going from Chicago to New York. Police officer told me that I would get the ticket in mail in less then a month. I was in rent a car at night. I forgot the receipt in rent a car and forgot where I got that ticket. After a month I went to the court and ask them to see if I have received any ticket and they said that there is not ticket on your record. So they told me that the best thing is that I should update my address and we will give you a notification a month ahead before we suspend your license. I did what they said. I got this ticket in 6/25/2010. In NOV I moved to a neighbor city due to my job and re routed all my letters. I was arrested on Sunday 27feb2011 and they told me that my license suspended in JAN and they sent me a notification in DEC. they arrested me and I had to pay $500 for my car and $80 for the towing and now $70 dollars for the reinstatement fee for my license. I am thinking of pleading to get my money back and take the suspension off my record. Anybody knows if I stand a chance. Let me know what do you guys think. At the time of ticket I lived in Decatur IL and then I moved to East Peoria IL in NOV. Got arrested in East Peoria IL. hey thor. how should i consider myself lucky. and what are you talking about losing my license for 1 year. i have a clear record. and people do mistakes. i still went to court two times to check if i have the ticket and it was them that told me that they will send me a notification before suspending my license. Even the police officer who arrested me said that sorry that this happened to you because i didnt had details about you handy as it was a out of state ticket and he was the one who advised me to try to get this money back, that means there is a chance. thanks for the stupid answer Mr. perfect.

Answer:
Let it go and consider yourself LUCKY.You could have gone to jail and lost your license for at least a year.Wise up and keep track of your tickets and pay them promptly. You probably won't be so lucky the next time.
