Does anyone know the story behind the ghost car of Garden City?
Question:
I know that this is a real ghost car and driver but I wonder if perhaps by chance someone knew who the driver could have been?

Answer:
Do you mean by "real ghost car" that it is "real car" or "real ghost"? These people think the former and think it is pretty obvious http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=62069

How to take bus or train from 130 Franklin ave , garden city NY to JFK airport?
Question:
After I drop off car at 130 Franklin ave , garden city NY, how to take bus or train to JFK Airport? Thank you very much.

Answer:
My friend, take the N40 or N41 bus southbound from 130 Franklin Avenue to the Hempstead LIRR train station. The bus will leave you right in front of the train station. The fare on the bus is $2. Once at Hempstead, transfer to LIRR's Hempstead Branch. Take the westbound train from Hempstead to Jamaica Station. The fare on the LIRR train from Hempstead to Jamaica is $5.75 one way. Please make sure you buy your ticket before boarding. At Jamaica Station, transfer to the JFK Airtrain. Take the Airtrain from Jamaica Station to the terminals. The fare on the Airtrain is $5. Now, in regard to tickets on the LIRR, if you're buy a LIRR ticket from the vending machine, you should also purchase a $5 Pay per ride MetroCard to use on the Airtrain. The machine will ask you if you want to buy a MetroCard when purchasing a ticket. Just touch the "yes" button on the screen and a card will be included with your ticket. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck

what is the nearest subway station from garden city ny? And once there how do I get to time square?
Question:
I am staying in Garden City and driving from Ohio..I want to see time square and central park..ect but i am not sure about the subway system. Should I just drive my car into the city or use the subway station..and if so where should i park my car..thank u

Answer:
the subway does not leave the borders of the City of New York and garden city is in suburban Nassau county. the nearest station to Garden City is in Jamaica, in the city borough of Queens, approximately 10 miles away. What Garden City does have is the Long Island Rail Road, the nation's oldest and busiest commuter line. Garden City station is on the railroad's Hempstead Branch. Most trips including all weekend trains from that station require you to change trains at the LIRR's hub station, which coincidentally is also in Jamaica. Most Hempstead trains run to and from Atlantic Terminal, in "Downtown Brooklyn" (New York has more than one Central Business district with the city borders, Midtown Manhattan, downtown Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn). At Jamaica, you'd transfer another train to continue into Penn Station at 34th between 7th and 8th aves in Midtown Manhattan. the trains run all day, with the only gap being between 2:00AM and 4AM on that branch. If you prefer a quicker trip, you can head north from garden city to the town of Mineola. trains leaving from that station include the railroad's main line, the Ronkonkoma line. these trains make only 2 stops between Mineola and Penn Station. And you should buy your ticket's from the machines at the station before getting on the train, as on board tickets can cost twice as much.

Where is the train station parking for "hamlet" East Garden City residents?
Question:
Hi, I just moved to East Garden City and I take the Garden City train on the Hempstead Line, I need to park in the train station parking lot but you need a sticker. I tried to get the sticker and they said that East Garden City is not part of Garden City that its one of the hamlets cities of the Town of Hempstead. So where do we belong to? Where can I take the train, which line and be able to park my car there? Thank you!

Answer:
I looked up East Garden City on a rail map and can't find it. I'll take a guess and say the LIRR-Hempstead Station, on W. Columbia St. It seems to have the largest parking lot of any of the stations in the area. I would assume that you would make your parking arrangements at the station. If not, call the Metro North-LIRR info number. I don't have it.

Good photo locations in Welwyn Garden City?
Question:
I would like to find a place local to Welwyn Garden City where I can take some nice snaps of my car, could be old buildings, boats, fields, whatever just something nice and local Anyone got any ideas?

Answer:
Shaw's Corner, where George Bernhard Shaw lived. He wrote Pygmalian, which became My Fair Lady as a film and stage play adaptation. Lanes from Old Welwyn or WGC to Ayot St. Peter, then to Farm Hill Lane and Shaws Corner, bit twisty but good scenery and good for pics. I cycled to work at Rank Zerox that way from Harpenden area sometimes. For a longer run, not too far considering the prize, Hatfield House, where Queen Elizabeth 1st spent her younger days.... Her dad sort of liked it there. That was Henry 8th. Her Mum was Ann Boleyn, who he later had beheaded. Dad didn't like her after all. The entrance road is right opposite Hatfield Railway Station. Rather impressive place ,what? Would suit a Bentley, haha. http://www.hatfield-house.co.uk/ . . .

Question:
I am looking for pansies for my backyard. I don't have a car, so I need somewhere in Center City, Society Hill or Old City. No, pansies are a fall and a spring flower here. I have planted pansies in the fall for years and they last until the spring

Use Philly Car Share and go to the Home Depot in South Philly because I don't know of anywhere in town to get pansies.
