Has anyone had problems from the Three Dollar Car wash on Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs/ATL?
Question:
I went there yesterday and this dude with no teeth comes out and takes my money, doesnt ask me anything as for as what options I would like to have. Then he starts yelling at the machine HURRY UP! So I'm thinking, maybe he's having a bad day. This was my first time there so as he's directing the cars into the wash(because he is standing in front of the instuctions) he starts to yell PUT YOUR CAR IN NEUTRAL. Maybe if he dad were a glass maker, I could of seen the instructions. I told him I was sorry he was having a bad day and he YELLED-NO YOU ARE HAVING A BAD DAY. @ This point I'm mad as hell because I live and breathe customer service but I'm also LMAO. Is it just me, or should you get better customer service? Anyway, I called his manager, who took up for him saying that there have been accidents and it was a miscommunication. As I'm on the phone with his manager, he tells me to leave his lot, that I have been vacuuming too long. Sexist? The man in front of me didnt ge yelled at :-( g

Answer:
they don't deserve your business. Go to the $5 car wash on MLK

Moving to Sandy Springs, Ga 10points?
Question:
I am moving from out of state and would like to be inform on as much as possible about the area. I have a younger sister going to the 11th grade and I would like to know about the highschools. Will I need a car in that area? or is everything near by? What type of dress do they wear, uniforms? or casual dress(regular clothes)

Answer:
What a lovely place to move. The highschools down there are very nice schools. Yes you will need a car, but i'm sure that there is a city bus. Most schools wear casual day where although 3 of the private schools wear unifrorms. This area isn't too hot and has alot of nice people who would love to welcome you. Parks are abundent along with dog parks, pools and recreation areas. Good luck with your move and I hope I helped! :)

I got clocked at 75 in a 55 mph zone in sandy springs, GA of 400 NB?
Question:
The officer said he clocked me at 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. This was right past north springs marta station where it changes from 55 to 65. I could actually see the 65 mph sign when he clocked me. He put down that i went 75 in a 55 and said if I went to court than I would be facing the full 80mph charge. On the ticket it is also written that the location is near pitts road, a good 2 miles inside the 65 mph zone. Also he said he recorded me at 649.4 ft going 80 but I had just passed a truck right when i saw him and immediately slammed on my brakes. I could have barely gone 100 ft with him seeing me much less 600+, But I have little way to prove that. What are my options? Can I get this thrown out in court if I fight it or at least reduced? I have a perfectly clean driving record before this. My gf was also in the car and can corroborate my story. Thank you for any help. He said that if I just sent in money than I would pay for the official 75 in a 55 but if I went to court I'd face a charge of 80. I was wondering if I could fight it because I was going with the flow of traffic and he might have mistaken my car for the car in front of me? Though he had laser as a detection system.

Answer:
What is there to fight? You were clocked by radar or some electronic device. Unless you can question its calibration or something, seems like you got nailed. Speed limits start at the sign post, not when you can see them. Think of it as a start/finish line, you need to cross it before the speed limit changes. So what's the story going to be? That you were driving 20mph over the limit instead of 25mph? The differential is critical in GA; the fines jump up significantly when you are caught doing 21mph or more over the limit. Frankly, I am stunned there was a real life cop on GA 400. I can't think I've ever seen one. I'm usually doing 75-80 and getting passed by Alpharettaites in luxury SUV's doing 90+ while Twittering on their iPhone's. You are double unlucky there. Sorry to hear that.

Where in Atlanta can I donate stuffed animals?
Question:
The nearest Goodville or other such stores are many miles away and we do not have a car,So I would like to try and donate them to a charity.I have read some other answers that say used stuffed animals will not be accepted. Is this true?Mine are in very good condition with no rips or stains.Does anyone have any ideas?I live in Sandy Springs.Thank you!

Answer:
Without a car, you'll need a charity that will pick up in Sandy Springs. Try AmVets. Another thing to try, Salvation Army. They might pick up, too. I've never heard that stuffed animals won't be accepted. Maybe it's only certain charities that won't. Maybe it's because most they anticipate could be covered in dust and need laundering.

I got a speeding ticket for going 90/55, what will most likely happen at the court?
Question:
This is my first ever citation, The cop indicated he used laser to get my speed, but I am really dumbfounded as how could I be going 90mph. My car would literally be shaking if i did go 90mph. I have to go to Sandy springs court? any ideas on how much the fine will be or the consequence? I am way over 21. I appreciate your help in advance.

Answer:
It will be a big fine. You can try to say he was actually clocking another car (that happened to me once), but you will probably not bed believed. Tell the judge your car would shake. You can go to traffic school so you don't have the points.

What happens is I don't pay these fines in another state?
Question:
Months ago I helped a friend move over 800 miles away. I got a traffic ticket in which was serve 2 fines. Granted I was speeding, but I thought the speed limit was 65 as in the rest of the bypass. I was doing 70 and the cop who stopped me said the the speed limit was 55. I am from Maryland, my friend's lincense plate is registered in Virginia and we were in Georgia. There were cars passing me so I had no need to not believe the limit wasn't 65 when that was the last sign I remembered seeing while looking for the 24 hour walmart. Found out they don't have one. Well, I came back for court and the fines totaled $1091.00! This is for Sandy Springs Georgia. No one walked out without a fine or with a dismissal that day. It is a new city so I found out what they were about. I asked to have time to pay it in which they assign you to the probation department and make you pay fees of $44.00 a month for the payment plan, and they want $100.00 a month for the next 24 months. WTH?! What I want to know is if they can have my Maryland license suspended if they don't get paid. If I get stopped in my home state or any other state, can I get locked up for it? I don't ever have to step foot in Georgia again if that's what it takes!

Answer:
S Yes, it will come back to haunt you in your home state. It can effect your license status. Take care of it. Here is how it will go. Your state will refuse your license. You will have to drive to work, so you ignore the suspension while you do or do not take care of the other state issue. You get into an accident, or get a ticket for driving in Maryland w/o a valid license. It escalates rapidly. Soccerref

Nightlife in Buckhead ATL?
Question:
I'm in Atlanta this summer for externships for my clinicals. I have only been here 3 weeks thus have yet to experience all that ATL has to offer. I have a lady friend coming down to visit this weekend and need ideas on where to hang out. I'm located in Sandy Springs. I don't have a car here so would prefer to take a cab somewhere in Buckhead. 1) I need an activity--something fun like bowling, skating, or billiards. 2) I need a good restaurant--nothing too expensive of course, but with good food, and if there's a better place to go for 3) desserts/wine, I need that too. I'd prefer these places to by fly/upscale type. Any help would be appreciated

Answer:
I'd avoid Buckhead. The restaurants are all pricey, the area is too spread out if you don't have a car and the nighlife has all been run off by the politicians. Take MARTA into Midtown instead. There's a lot more going on in that area. From there you can walk or take much shorter cab rides to your destination. Go to a show at the Fox Theater and maybe take a walk through Piedmont Park in the early evening. Have dinner at Veni Vedi Vici. If this doesn't impress her I'd give up. Damn, I just checked the Fox box office and Phantom just closed, the theater is dark this weekend.

We think my dog just got hit by a car...please help.?
Question:
Is there a clinic that is open on Sundays in the Sandy Springs area? Is there anywhere that would treat for less than emergency charge?

Answer:
http://www.aecsandysprings.com/ And you can find several more in your area with a simple google. Why would money be a factor? Your dog was just hit by a car. The poor animal must be in pain.

Where to live in Atlanta GA for a summer internship?
Question:
Hello, I have already ask many friends who have already been to Atlanta,GA, but I keep on getting different answers with no specifics. I currently live in North Carolina in a pretty small town that I cannot wait to get out from! LOL I'm from South America, and I have been raised in a crowded city until the age of 14 near the beach. I love big cities as long as I'm able to live in a pretty decent area. This summer I have been given the opportunity to work for a company(internship) near downtown Atlanta so I'm looking for a place to stay for 3 months. So far I have been looking for places around East Lake, Sandy Springs, Buckhead, Dunwoody, Decatur, Druid Hills, and Virginia-Highland. I will probably visit the place a little more before renting a room or apartment, but so far Buckhead, and Decatur seem more appealing. I understand that traffic is a problem so I cannot not live very far from downtown, but I also need to live in a safe area where I can park my car at night with no hesitations. I will be driving a luxury car, and I will also be wearing a suit everyday so I will most likely call the attention of criminals pretty easily (I'm short and skinny too...hahaha) . I don't really know what to expect, but maybe I'm just worrying too much. Any comments would be very helpful especially if you live within the area. Budget($600-$800 per month for rent) Thank You. More details: -I would not mind paying a little extra for rent just in case my budget is a little low. -I would not mind driving around 30 to 45 minutes with traffic. - I prefer quite and private areas, than areas close to everything. I do not mind wasting extra gas.(I prefer not to walk) -Just to be a little more specific: I prefer to live close or within the educated/rich neighborhoods.

Answer:
All of those are pretty great places. Of all of them, Buckhead, Decatur, and Virginia Highlands are the most centrally located and safest, and places I would choose to live in. In all of them, you will have traffic. Lot's of traffic. With that being said, Buckhead and Decatur both have access to MARTA, which may not matter considering you will be driving. Virginia Highlands has no super close MARTA station, but is closer to down town and pretty much right on top of most of the major highways. At Virginia highlands, you will have noise, considering it is in the center of a huge shopping district. Decatur, while a really nice place to live, does have it's extremely seedy and dangerous parts, so if you get the chance to talk with residents while you're there, ask them if they have any trouble with crime overflow. Buckhead is were I grew up, so I can tell you first hand that it's nice, but you run a high risk of living near a huge jerk. Seriously, straight up jerks. Also, it will probably be kinda hard to find a $600-$800 rent in Buckhead, unless you strike a really good deal. Honestly, this might be true with all of them, as they're all either established neighborhood for the wealthy, or yuppy central meaning you'll be over charged.

Anyone's child been taken to jail for minor in possession for drinking?
Question:
My 19 year was arrested for drinking, she was charge with minor in possession. She has court this week in Roswell Ga. She has had a hit and run on a parked car and she got that charge reduced. Her MIP charge is this week and in Fulton County Sandy Springs a DUI on New Years eve resulting into a accident of plowing over several cement mailboxes. She has been to rehab, AA, kicked out and lived in an apt for two months but back at our home and even to last week came home via taxi and friends wasted or stoned. Will the Judge put her in jail or just slap her wrist. She needs help but doesnt care she is so disrespectful to her parents and is a total B. Has anyone gone through the court system in Roswell Ga on this type of case before and can give us a heads up. Will they let us speak to the Judge, will he ask us how she has been acting?

Answer:
Time for some tough love. If she lost her license, make her walk where ever she is going. You set the rules, and stick to them. I suspect you have always let her have her way, and it's going to be hard to change that@
