What is a good salary for a single person in Rome Georgia?

I am planning on moving out by myself. I live in Rome, Georgia. I want to know what is the approximate amount of money I will need to maintain myself. I do not have a car so I will also need money to pay for public transportation. How much will I need to make weekly to live on my own?

There is not enough information to know how you intend to live, what expenses you need to cover, etc. If you want to live just above the poverty level, or do you expect a middle-class or luxury life. Rent should represent one fourth (25%) of your take home pay, and other debt should not exceed an additional 15%. If you live in a two-bedroom apartment, then utilities could be $200 a month. On the low-end, having $1500-$2000 a month in take-home pay is about minimum for living on your own. Save up cash for a used car, then save up more cash for the next used car. Have $2000 at least in an emergency fund, and work on saving 6 months expenses in a long-term emergency fund in case of unemployment or medical issues. Not having an emergency fund is a major factor in people having financial problems. Stay out of debt, and only charge on a credit card what you can pay in full when you get the bill. He'd probably have to fly from Indianapolis to Atlanta. Airfare varies widely but if he plans right he can get tickets for about $350 round trip. A rental car will cost $30 a day. Gas is gas. Pay for what you use. Assuming one tank of gas will probably cost $40-$50. Dinner, again, it depends onhow much you want to spend. You can go to Taco Bell and eat for $12 or you can go to a steak house and spend $125. How much you spend on dinner is up to you. If he saved $650 he can make the trip a good one.

Title pawn cars come from people who borrow money against the title of their car. When they can't pay back the loan, the lender has the right to keep the car and do what they choose. Autos are commodities with many buyers and sellers. If a car is in good condition, there are many business' and people willing to buy the car, so there is a fair market value for the car. As things get ugly, there are fewer buyers and the market softens. Auto pawn cars are considered very poor cars to buy - similar to repo cars. If the owner could not afford to make payments on his debt, then he certainly won't pay to maintain the car properly. Also, if he knows he's going to lose the car, he may become vengeful and purposely damage the car (drive over curbs, hit things, race the car, etc). A simple question to ask is "do I want an abused car?" I am in the auto industry and we consider these cars to be "dirty". Consequently, they get very low prices when they go to auction and only certain resellers venture into this risky business (corner used car lots, etc). Even franchise car dealers don't want them.
