A question about felony probation in Georgia?
Question:
So there is this 32 year old woman who lives in newnan georgia and she has had multiple arrests is on first offender, got arrested again they did not revoke her probation when she got re-arrested and than she used her 2 year old daughters social security number to purchase 2 cars in 2 different counties. One of the counties being the one she was on probation in. Guess what she still does not get revoked on her probation. It gets even better 3 weeks ago she gets arrested yet again for 4 counts of first degree fraud in fayette county georgia and than 2 counts in coweta county as well as bank transaction fraud and would you believe they did not hold her for a probation hold she was able to bond out on all the charges. I contacted the fulton county d/a by email which was one of the counties where she purchased a car and never got a response. Who do I call, email ? This is gone too far and I feel that everyone who comes in contact with her gets either their credit card numbers used, social security number, checks written in their name, financial identity fraud, forgery or maybe next she will buy a home with someone elses identity. When you call probation they will not talk to you and are very rude. Is there any justice at all in this country any more. She has not even served any jail time for all of those charges, please any advice of what i can do would be appreciated

Answer:
You are up against a brick wall and may as well go ahead and bang your head against a real one because you will not get any responses from the states attorney's office or probation. If you are a victim you can got to court and present a victim impact statement but that will be your only involvement.

Moving to Atlanta.?
Question:
I am going to be moving to Atlanta, Georgia (probably Newnan, Georgia to be exact) at the end of January. What can anyone who lives or has lived there tell me about it? Like about the people what it's like there, and good places to shop, eat out, fun places to go on weekend getaways etc... And also, anyone know what the cost is to get Georgia tags for my car? Thanks!!

Answer:
I moved to Atlanta from Fairburn, GA which is about 26 miles north of Newnan. That was almost 25 years ago. Then I moved to FL about 4 years ago. Anyway, Newnan used to be a very small farming town, but it has since grown to a fairly progressive place. The people are true Southerners; hospitality abounds and it hasn't forgotten its small town beginnings. Very close by is Peachtree City. It is a planned community, very upscale, but with very strict housing rules (because it was planned by private individuals). Also close is Fayetteville. It has grown by leaps and bounds since I was young as well. All three of these places, as well as Fairburn and Palmetto, have plenty of restaurants, clubs, bars, and shopping. Employment is also plentiful. You just have to remember that you're in the South and things are very reminiscent of the easy-going small towns that they used to be. The capitol city of Atlanta is only about 1 hour away, and if you can't find something to do there, you might as well stay home. Six Flags over Georgia is about 45 minutes away; Stone Mountain is about an hour. There are lots of parks and hiking, camping, and river tours around there. It's very beautiful country with lots of natural things. It has a fairly temperate climate, though it can get very cold and does snow (slightly) on a regular basis in the winter. Great warm/hot summers (awful humidity sometimes), very defined spring and fall. As far as tags go, I don't know what would be the initial cost to transfer (especially from out of state), but I do know that they still go by the Ad-Valorem type of tax system. This means it is based on the value of the car. As the car depreciates, the tag gets cheaper. If it's a newer car, plan on paying between $500 to $1000 for the first tag plus any transfer fee.

Pregnant, Move home (Atlanta) or stay here (seattle)?
Question:
Hi, Okay so I'm in a situation. I'm pregnant about 11-12 weeks along. I moved to Seattle 2000 and loved it. Met great people and even have a 'seattle family' Well, my family in Atlanta wants me to move back home. My mom and I love each other but she's very pushy and bossy. I'm 28 years old. I'm not sure what i should do because if I stay here, transportation is better (i dont have a car), i have a job and 'seattle family' already said they would help me anyway as in babysitting while I go to work. If I move to Atlanta, I'll have to move back with my mom, she'll tell me what she thinks I should do all the time, she works during the day so I wont have a babysitter, the transportation isnt all that great in Georgia being that my mom lives in Newnan. Her feelings are hurt because I havent made up my mind what I want to do. Mind you our beliefs in certain things are complete opposite as well. I'm trying to be an adult and figure out what I need to do which would be easier for me in order to support me and my baby. I know other people have to live their lifes and I'm so used to being independent that I go and come as I please....when I have a baby I need to find a job not saying I'm going out partying like my mom thinks I'm going to do. She keeps telling me I dont know what I'm getting myself into and yes she's right because this is my first pregnancy but I'm trying to weigh out the pros and cons that would help me better in supporting my child and not hurting any feelings. I love my mom very much but I still need to live my life the way I want too but she doesnt see it that way. Suggestions...

Answer:
I was in a similar situation when I got pregnant. We lived in Seattle (and loved it!) but my family (in Portland, OR) pressured us to move back to Portland so they could be a bigger part of the babies life. Well, we fell for it and moved back to Portland and my family has barely even seen my son! I gave up my job up there, living in a nice house, and being where I was happy so that my family would be happy and it backfired. They don't help with my child, haven't even seen him in MONTHS and yet we moved down here and gave everything in Seattle up so they could have him in their lives. I regret it every single day. We have a baby now so we can't just uproot our lives AGAIN and move back, can't get our jobs back, our house back, etc but I just feel like they tricked us. If you are happy in Seattle than STAY THERE. Don't let anyone guilt you into moving. Also, I really can't imagine a better place to raise kids than Seattle. Good schools, culturally diverse, SO many fun activities (Greenlake, Pike Market, Aquarium, Museums, Lake Washington, Kirkland waterfront, Woodland Park Zoo, etc etc it just goes on and on). And as much as some people complain about the rain, when its nice out up there its BEAUTIFUL.
