Transport from Atlanta, Georgia to Macon? Question: basically flying to Atlanta....need to get to macon/warner robins cheaply and reasonably quickly (as it will be a long flight) not too keen on a rental car. Are there any transport/taxi firms you could suggest?? thank you!! xxxx Answer: There is a transportation service called "Grooms Transportation" that leaves atl to warner robins at least 5 times a day for about 30 bucks. Fellow Americans....Need your help regarding Muscle Cars? Question: Hi people, I will be traveling to the U.S. shortly from Australia, and I am interested in getting a pre-1980 American Muscle Car to do some of the travel leg with then import back to Australia. I need your help as this will be the first serious holiday I will be taking to the states :) I am specifically interested in 'classic' muscle cars (Chevy / Plymouth / Ford / Dodge / Pontiac / etc etc..). I'll be looking to spend around the 10-15K mark. I will be visiting: Vegas. Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. San Antonio and Houston, Texas. Mobile, Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama. Macon and Atlanta, Georgia. Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. And the state of North Carolina. And ending my trip in NYC. Any ideas of where i can look, In terms of websites and areas for cars? What about my "impossible" escape from death (see below)? Do you go when it's "your time"? Question: In my VW beetle I left my college campus to drive home one weekend even though my mother had a premonition I shouldn't do it. I told her not to worry and that everything would be fine. Little did I know! On I-75 below Macon, Georgia, I drove into a bad rainstorm which rapidly became a monster of a storm. I really couldn't even see enough to get off the interstate, and I kept driving and hoping the storm would blow over. It got worse and worse, and suddenly I saw a U-Haul trailor in the road ahead of me. It was either sitting still or barely moving, and I had no choice but to hit it head on or try to go around. I turned sharply to the left, and my VW turned over and skidded down the highway on the driver's side, with sparks shooting up through the water. When the car came to a halt lying on the driver's side, I decided to jump out of the car as I raised the passenger door straight up in the air. Before I could jump, my VW was struck by another car and I was ejected............. Into the storm. However, I remember nothing of that. The last thing I remember before I briefly regained consciousness while lying on I-75 was standing at waist level in my VW while preparing to jump. Later on, they found me lying UNDER the car that struck my VW. I was taken in a hearse to a small medical clinic in a small town nearby where I encountered Dr. Christmas (that really was his name). When I came to on his examining table, he told me I had a slight concussion and a bruised left ankle. That was all! The weirdest part of the story, however, was this: My VW, after it was struck by the other car, righted itself on all 4 wheels and took off down I-75 driverless with the driver's seat sticking through its shattered windshield. With a bent axle, it turned around by itself and headed up I-75 the wrong way and had a head-on collision with the car that had struck it, but no one was hurt. It sounds like something out of a Stephen King novel, but it really happened. My State Farm auto insurance agent in Albany, Georgia told me that a similar accident had happened to a woman on that same stretch of interstate a few months before my accident, but that she had not been so lucky. She had, he said, been spread like jelly all over the pavement. Answer: Holy shitballs! You have some extra strength guardian angels watching over you, you lucky dog, you! Any way I can find out about a car that I abandoned in Georgia 7 years ago? Question: 7 years ago, I was 18 years old, and had a new found freedom. I decided to take off to Florida from South Carolina where I grew up, on a wild spree. Now I realize that I was young and dumb. I despise myself almost every day for doing what i did, but I cant change things now. Anyways, i had a 1989 Chevy car, was in my name, I was almost out of gas in valdosta, Georgia. I left my car in a store parking lot there, left everything i had in the car, license and everything, my license was suspended, insurance expired. I got in a truck with one of the guys I was following with the fair (we had just left the fair in macon, ga) and went on to florida. I stayed there for 2 months before i decided to come back home to SC, and never thought about the car as far as trying to recover it, or anything, never spoke of it. But I do almost hate myself for leaving it there. Now 7 years later, I want to find out whatever happened to the car, if it was sold, auctioned, who bought it, etc. And whatever happened to all my things in the car. I really wish I could get them back now. I wish i could get my car back. It had brand new blue paint, almost like m&m blue. Is there any way possible if after this long, I can still be able to find out about what happened? Is there a way I could still get it back? Please serious answers, helpful please, i really need to know! I may not make a lot of sense here, but i am trying! Any help anyone can give i would really be forever grateful! Thank You! HELP! Air conditioner compressor went out in 2002 Toyota Camry? Question: OK, so it is scorching hot down here in Macon, Georgia. Ugg...And, right when I was supposed to travel 6 hours on a pilgrimage retreat - the air compressor went out on the AC in my Toyota Camry. The seemingly ignorant service man where I took it said it would cost $2000 - $3,000 to repair because it was CLOGGED UP? stopped up? Plugged up? (his terms) *** Here is my question: IS THERE ANYTHING - LIKE SOME FLUID OR ANTI CLOG SPRAY OR FOAM THAT I CAN PUT INTO THE LINE TO UNCLOG IT? Thanks very much! Any advice is much appreciated. Road Trip? HELP?!?!?!? Question: I'm on a 4-5 hour "road trip" to Maggie Valley, North Carolina from Macon, Georgia and I have been in the car for about 30 minutes. I'm gonna be there until Friday, and it's Wednesday. I have an iPhone and Earbuds (Which is what I'm using), a book called Speak (Laurie Halse Anderson), a pillow and blanket, and my bunny is in a cage next to me. I'm sooo bored!! Help!!!!!!!!!! Anything I can do with these things that won't disturb my baby and 5 year old sister, my mom, and my dad (when we pick him up)??? Ps, don't suggest anything that isn't....... Ermmmm........ Appropriate?.... For a 12 year old girl, plz. Lol. Also: I can't take the bunny out, and no- it's NOT animal cruelty. Call PETA, I don't care. Living comfortable/affordable living in the south for single male in early 20s? Question: Hey, I need a little help/advice, maybe some of you can tell me from personal experience. Consider the cost of living in your average MID-SIZED southern cities (example...Columbus,Macon,Augusta in Georgia....Montgomery, Huntsville, Mobile in Alabama) What would you say a decent salary would be to live fairly decent in these areas for a young adult, single male. Living comfortable for me would be...hmmmm....decent apartment in a decent area.....I know how to shop around and dont HAVE to have the most EXPENSIVE brand name clothes, I dont have to have a MERCEDES..just a decent car with manageable payments...a little bit of money left over to take a female out to the movies, club, etc. What would you say a decent salary would be for me to live like this in the south? How much do you think I would need to bring home a month? Answer: $40-50K/yr $3300-4100/month |
