I want to move to Georgia next year?
Question:
How much money should i save up for this move,i need to buy a used car also, and i would like to pay my rent off for 6 months when i arrive, can anyone help me calculate?I'll be moving from St. Paul,MN to Douglasville or Lithia Springs GA....THANKS IN ADVANCE

Answer:
I suggest finding a job first. Unemployment is very high and it's taking people over a year to find employment. Douglasville and Lithia Springs are really nice neighborhoods. I think it's better to buy than rent there. I'm a Real Estate Consultant. Shot me an email if you are interested in buying. msrealestateagent@yahoo.com

Answer:
Be sure to factor in utility deposits (call utility companies in advance for info on amounts...depends on credit history) , rent deposit, basic household items (like garbage can, shower curtain) and furniture (depending on what you have and what you need), travel costs from St. Paul. If you bring a vehicle into Georgia you have to pay a tax for that (a way to generate revenue at the expense of newcomers). If you can afford to pay six months' rent, I'm assuming you won't need to have this figured out to the penny. But you can count on it being expensive, for sure. I hope it works out well for you. Plus, the car--are you planning on spending $6000, $3000, $10,000? Cash or credit? Will you be using a moving company, a U-Haul, or just loading up a few things in your car? The first is by far the most expensive option. Whichever you choose, be sure to do price comparisons and ask about deposits. If you don't have a car now, remember to add car insurance to your list of expenses. It's a good thing you have a year to plan...look online for moving checklists/planners and check out sites such as the local chamber of commerce or city web site which should have info on utilities and other newcomer info.
