Red Light Fine Too High? Can I Lower? Question: Ok so I ran a red light just barely at 3:00 in the morning. I have not received a traffic ticket in almost 3 years, and prior to that one it had been about 2 years so over the last five years I have only two offenses, and I think they were both speeding. Any way I live in Douglas County Georgia, and I just looked up my fine online and it was 251.00. I am going to have a hard time paying all that at once, and I have less than a month to do so, my court date is July 1st. I had a red light ticket long ago like 6-7 years ago and it wasn't even over 100 dollars. Why is this one so high? And if I show to court will they possibly lower it? How about payments. I don't won't to hassle with driving school or probation, I have a tight schedule and those would be more painful that just paying the money. I barely ran the light, and there were no other cars around, I was exiting the intersate and saw the yellow light, being so late I tried to make it, go figure. Thanks for any help. Answer: are you just a "barely pregnant", is someone "barely dead". you ran the light. the fine isn't too high, you can't afford it. if the fine was $20 it wouldn't make people NOT run the red light. bet next time you won't try and make the yellow. see, it is working already. |
