Where do I go to replace the title on my car? I live in Clearwater, Florida? Question: I bought my present car years ago, so I should have a little registration card that replaced yearly. I do have that. But I need to replace my title ASAP. Please help! Answer: Why do you need to have your title redone dear? Well never the less, you would have to go to the DMV (the Department of motor vehicles) and take ALL your information with you, SSN, present registration, Current title (if you have one) and your D.L.. There is a fee, of course! Call your local DMV and ask them what you would need and or what you have to do! Is it easy to get around in Clearwater, Florida? Question: I will be staying in Clearwater in March but cannot rent a car. I paid for a week unlimited bus pass- but how easy is it to get from Clearwater (US-19) to the beach? Do buses run over to Honeymoon island area? Suggest any restaurants? Thanks! I will be staying at the Howard Johnson on US-19 N near the Country Side mall, so far I have found bus service that runs into downtown clearwater- but is there any that runs to Caledesi area? Also, anyone know of any bike/moped rentals near the given area? Answer: once you get over to the beach area - you can take the trolly up and down the beach area - For eats - I like Frenchies and can highly recommend the Fried or Grilled Grouper Sandwich. a little south of Clearwater beach (and over in Ybor City NE of Tampa) is a fabulous rest. Called the Columbia - I buy their house dressing and take it back to MN with me whenever I'm there. Is it worth it to rent a car while in St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Florida? Question: I have seen where you can take trolleys and buses, but I didn't really want to mess with the whole schedule and waiting thing. I AM trying to save on money though. Has anybody used the towns various transit systems and are they easy to use? Do they go to most of the beaches? I'm staying in a hotel near Clearwater Beach, but am going to make my way to other beaches all the way down to Fort De Soto. Thanks! Answer: You pretty much have to have a car in the entire Tampa Bay area. There are areas of downtown St. Pete where you can get around ok without, but you will be very restricted as to where you can go and when. In general, Tampa and area is very pedestrian hostile. |

Does anyone know the law in Clearwater Florida about domestic cats? Question: My daughter lives there, and her cat loves to go outside. The other day, as it was sleeping on the walkpath, a girl jogging by with her dog ran into the cat. The cat waking startled and surprised, jumped up on the dogs face and wouldn't let go. The girl kicked the cat off, and then proceded to kick it, again, airborning it into a parked car. She then went over and kicked the cat again. Simba the cat is a mild 17 year old cat who just likes to sleep .He wouldnot hurt a fly. All this was witnessed by my daughters boyfriend, who was sitting on his apartment porch at the time. Needless to say, he got up and ran as fast as he could down his stairs to stop this girl from killing the cat. She yelled at my daughters boyfriend and told him that domestic cats arenot allowed to be outside and she was going to report him. Well, she did. Low and behold, and sheriff came to his front door three days later with a warning. I was just wondering if there is in fact a law about cats being outside a dwelling in Clearwater Florida. To say the least, she should be charged with animal abuse herself, but that didnot happen. Answer: |

Please answer my question clearwater and/or brooksville attractions? Question: I am looking into working for the Eckerd Youth Alternative, a Camp/Program for troubled teen, I would become a youth counselor in Clearwaters florida or Brookville florida I dont know exactly yet, but If anyone works there or have worked there in the past and doesnt now please give me insight on how you may have liked the job or not like the job. What should I expect? What main attractions like malls or beaches or anything entertaining in Clearwater Florida and/or Brooksville Florida? Are these two cities rural cities or urban cities? Do you need a car to go anywhere or are stores close by? Answer: If you work down near Clearwater Florida you will most likely be working at the all female camp. Up near Brooksville you have the option of the Eckerd E How Kee or the Eckerd Challenge program. I worked at an Eckerd Camp for two years. I liked the job alot. At the time I felt as if I was contributing something to society. Eckerd does not use Synanon methodology or for the most part it doesn't advocate brute force tactics. They don't need to. They have the climate of Florida that you will come to know and enjoy 365 days a year. No matter how hot, humid, wet, cold, rank, digusting smelling you get you still spend the majority of your time out in the woods. You live in the woods with a group of boys or girls for 24 hours a day for 4 to 5 days straight. You sleep in a tent, you shower with your group, you eat with your group, and participate in every activity with your group. When the group struggles you must be the one to deal with it. When someone gets violent you have to be the one who resolves that situation. If you fail to ensure your campsite is clean you are the one who deals with that also. For the most part the most you will be able to do about troublesome behaviors is call a huddle. Once called the huddle is for confronting negative behaviors, evaluating activitities, or acknowledging positive behaviors. The camp I worked at put a heavy emphasis on positive praise. However, you need to bear two things in mind. This is a job that isn't for everyone. Actually, I think it is a job that isn't for anyone, but bear with me for a few moments. Can you remain calm in situations that are potentially violent? When sitting still and listening to a young boy or girl talking about her childhood abuse stories can you be the one who remains objective and not get overly emotionally invested? No matter how much you favor kids can you be the one who refuses to play favorites amongst your group and confronts and praises equally? The clearwater program recently tried to make a young lady who couldn't participate in a river trip sit on a couch in thier front off doing nothing for 21 days. Can you make a young girl sit on a couch for 21 days doing nothing? At my own camp Master counselors on occasion restrained kids for pretty much no reason. Bullying tactics were common place. They would get into the boy's faces and threaten and intimidate them. One Master Counselor tried to get a boy to fight him. So not everything is what it seems on the surface with this company. It can be highly satisfying, but I can honestly think of better venues to help children through. If you are a college graduate, which you have to be to work for Eckerd, then consider doing a stint in the Americorp and after than go on to the Peace corp. Also their a numerous Nongovernmental organizations that work with kids in their homes and in their own communities. You realize that these boys and girls in Eckerd programs spend on average 2 and a half days every six weeks with their families? Yes I realize the majority of them are adjudicated, but then again I don't agree with the juvenile justice system either. |

Hostel in Clearwater Beach, Florida? Question: In 2004, I stayed in a nice little HI hostel in Clearwater Beach, Fl ( Bay Esplande ) it was an awesome location and was really nice. But when I still was there I ve heard a rumor that this hostel might be sold! And now I cant find it anymore on the internet. Is it really sold and turned into a private home. Or is it still a hostel / crew house which is now private. Unfortunately dont have a car, and the location of this hostel was perfect to work and to see the attraction, including beaches and babes. I know Clearwater Beach has lots of hotels, which are quite expensive for me as a travelling tourist. Is there maybe another hostel in Clearwater Beach or close by? Can I get by without renting a car for vacation in Tampa Florida? Question: We're considering going to Tampa for our vacation (or somewhere else if anyone has suggestions). Probably Clearwater Beach. Can we easily get around without renting a car if we stay on the beach? Trying to save money on our vacation. Answer: Tampa and Clearwater have good Transit Systems, Buses, and you can get around on them, I know College Students depend on them a lot so they must be pretty reliable. |
