Cheapest way to get from Fairfield Conneticut, to Newark Delaware. I have ways of getting to the train station in Fairfield, and to New York, but don't have a car. What is the cheapest besides walking/or even cheapest from New York City. I am a college student so i don't have alot of money.

The cheapest reasonable way is probably a Metro-North commuter train from Fairfield to Grand Central ($14.25 peak, $10.75 off peak), then walk (free) or take the subway ($2.25) to Penn Station, take NJ Transit to Trenton ($15.50), then SEPTA to Newark ($9.50), changing at Philadelphia 30th St. Or you can take the Megabus from NY to Phila ($7 to $11, depending), and SEPTA to Newark ($6.25). Bring a fat book, it'll take a while. In all cases, be sure to buy your ticket before boarding the train or bus.

The train doesn't go to Newark on weekends. And Delaware's public transit system is pretty crummy on weekends So I would definitely look at other ways of getting there that don't involve mass transit.
