MOVING !! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!?
Question:
Okay so in August I am moving from Hockessin, Delaware to Pasadena CA. I am renting a room from a lady, and the bed room is fully furnished, all I need to come with is clothes, money, and my car. But that is the issue. Should I drive over 2,000 miles and waste hundreds in dollars in gas, and hotels? Or should I fly, and have a mover bring my car? What is cheap, and how would I go about doing anything!? Please help, if you have experience this before :( !!!! Im a 21yr old female by the way.

Answer:
If you want a moving truck with a hitch for your car, you'll probably have to pay a small fortune for it. (For example, a mere 10-foot U-Haul truck would cost you $2600 going from New Castle to Pasadena). That's why I wouldn't get a truck. Instead, I would just get an oil change now, have front-end alignment done now if it's past due, check the tires and fluids, and drive west. Take just the bare essentials or what will fit in the car. Try not to overstuff the trunk in case you need to change a tire along the way. Once you're settled in Pasadena and it becomes clear that things are going to work out, have your people back in Delaware start boxing up any important items you left behind have them gradually mail those things west. If you're experienced with long distance driving and managing fatigue, then try to make it from DE to St. Louis in one day. On Day 2 you can aim for Albuquerque or Gallup. On Day 3, head straight for Pasadena. Along the way take a power nap every now then if needed: I know from experience that they can save a person from shelling out $60+ for a motel room. Finally, know the range of your car and gas up accordingly. AZ and NM are about 350 miles across with relatively few gas stations along I-40 there. And stop for gas in Kingman, AZ *instead* of Needles, CA.

FOR ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE MOVED GREAT DISTANCES !?

Answer:
Your other option is to sell the car in Delaware and buy a new one in CA. But you will still need to transport your clothes, etc. I would suggest making a road trip out of it - find the quickest route, then find a few places along the way you might like to see. Take a couple of extra days to sight see and enjoy going across the country. Get off the interstate and into some little towns; you'll find most people are pretty nice and you'll learn a lot about the US and about yourself as well. No reason to be scared if you are smart, prudent and observant. (Stay in decent hotels, don't go to rest areas alone at night, join AAA in case you need a tow or a flat fixed, etc.) I travel alone by car a lot and have yet to have a really bad experience.
