I have a 1996 mazda 626 with transmission problems, how much will the junk yard pay for my vehicle?
Question:
I live in Dover, Delaware. The car actually does run but the transmission is starting to go bad.

Answer:
A salvage yard pays 8 cents a pound. Roughly $250. CAR-PART.com will have a transmission for around $350. I'd fix the car by advertising on CraigsList for a mechanic. $200. Your car is worth $2500.

Would getting this vw beetle be a bad idea?
Question:
i only have 1500 dollars and that's what she is asking for it, and it is my dream car. it seems like it has some problems though... would it be fixable for under $500? Thank you for you interest in my beetle!!! I originally had gotten the beetle from Dover, Delaware. It was my first car. I had a 6 month warranty on it, then shortly after the warranty was up the cylinders started misfiring, i did everything to fix them, b/c i needed a car b/c I'm in college. After trying to fix the cylinders for 3 months, on my way home from work the car stalled and i had to get it towed, something happened where the piston had gotten shattered b/c the cylinders misfired. I've had the car for about 5 years and had put a ton of money into it.Volkswagen parts are expensive and I had taken very good care of it. Oil was always changed on a regular basis and so on. The new engine had been put in the car by a local shop called Edwards automotive! He does all the work on my car and can give a list of what had been done to it. The tires are in ok condition although the front ones are kinda balled. I was just about to get new ones b/c the car was due for inspection this month. I had a new exhaust put on the car a while ago, but not a volkswagen exhaust due to the cost. I had put a universal one on. The new engine ran like a champ and i made sure I took extra special care of it. I had no problems for a good 2-3 years until now. I was driving a few weeks ago and the timing belt just snapped. I just don't have the money to replace it because im in college right now still and im tired of putting money into this car, so I wanna just sell it like it is. It's an automatic, yellow, 2.0 engine, black interior(good condition), 100+k on the body, new engine had 80K on it when i replaced it, I had kept a sheet with the amount of miles on the new engine. Battery is 6-8 months old, the coil pack where the spark plugs connect is brand new, spark plug wires were just recently replaced along with the air filter, and oil was just changed. The exterior is in ok condition. I had the back axle replaced about 4 months ago, b/c it was bent. The front bumper has a black scratch in front of it.I had a New windshield put in b/c a rock had gotten spit up at it while driving and broke it. I can send pictures if you'd like. As you can see I have put a significant amount of money into this car, I love it too. I wish i could keep it, but I can't afford to anymore. If you are still interested in it, I can give you the number to my mechanic who did all the work on it. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I am willing to negotiate on the price. I am not sure on how much it would be to fix. Hope this helps in your decision. Please email me back and let me know what you decide!

Answer:
You don't know how much damage a snapped timing belt will cost to fix. Bent couple of valves and it'll be $3000. I would stay away from this. I would stay away from VW with over 80,000 miles in general. There many better other cars out there.

A peanut is not a nut; it is a legume. The phrase "sleep tight" originated when mattresses were set upon ropes woven through the bed frame. To remedy sagging ropes, one would use a bed key to tighten the rope. There are only 12 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet. Who do I call for a misunderstanding in animal cruelty?
Question:
I live in Dover Delaware and we are prepping for a hurrican to hit tomorrow. I packed all my things including our healthy dog and left the back seat open for her. She is perfectly healthy. We take great care of this dog. She is a part of the family. Anyway, we all went to Walmart to get water and things to be ready for an expected power outage. My dog stayed in the car with the all the windows rolled down enough for her head but not enough to get out of course. We were in Walmart for about 20 minutes. It is 80 degrees and cloudy outside. And windy because of the hurricane. It wasn't hot at all when we opened the car door. Then some older woman came yelling at me saying she called animal cruelty on me and I'm in trouble. I love my dog, and so does my 2 year old. She is a Perfectly healthy dog and we take good care of her. Who do I call to get this resolved?

Question:
Many people have been displaced and I have traveled to now nine states looking for a better pond to fish in. You can teach a fisherman to fish and he or she will fish for a lifetime. You can give a fisherman a fish and he or she will fish for a day. What happens though when there are no more fish in the pond? In Newark, Delaware where I currently am after 23 years of Washington, D.C,, 2 years of the New York City area, 6 years of the Boston area and a year of Las Vegas, find my home state to be in a crisis, a real emergency from the closing of Chrysler and GM, other business, poor air quality in the top county, New Castle County, toxic water in the State Capitol area of Dover in Kent County and in the beach area now 5,000 listings in real estate I am told. This is a disaster. And I was robbed and cheated out of my family home that I had had for 44 years by estate people, real estate brokers and greedy family. I served with two elderly parents part time and full for 13 years helping also 14 others. Now a total of 22 from my life are gone. All died. Elderly and sick mostly. I have been writing and doing things to affect Positive changes since 1989. Made Cambridge Who's Who network last year. Now I have no home, no work at 59, and receive for the first time in my life and now for four months $95 of General Assistance and Food Stamps. I get harassment charges for asking for money owned me and for speaking out...I have Irish roots too and just want a job. Four months of this and sleeping in my car now at 59! Have also 50 nights in motels before my money ran out. This week is courtesy of Dept of Social Services. I had a beautiful home and life at one time now, this...I don't want to walk away. There is so much need here. I want to be a part of the solution not the problem. Will the depression/recession be like the Great Depression. People are sleeping outside here. There are 1200 on a waiting list for Newark Housing Authority in Newark, Delaware and another 1100 were turned away I was told by Greg there. 1/3 or a little over 1/4 of the state now receives food stamps and I think this needs to be called a crisis and a state of Emergency for Delaware, Vice President Joe Biden's state. I am not mob or CIA. They are here too. Pamela Bunting Lewis Dec. 5th, 2011 By this name on Facebook and Cambridge Who' s Who network for Press Release.
