Transportation From Seymour, CT to West Haven, CT?
Question:
Transportation From Seymour, CT to West Haven, CT? I know there is a Train Station in Seymour... Does it go to West haven ... if not does it go to somewhere close to there where there is a bus to west haven or close... I am trying to find transportation routes between Seymour and West Haven because I do not have a car and I need a way to work? Anyone knows anything let me know, Thanks.

Answer:
You might want to call the train station...try the New Haven train station first, as there is usually someone there to at least answer your call. I know some of the smaller stations don't have people there to help you. They should also have a bus schedule. Make sure you ask for both AMTRAK and Metro.

How can I get from Tweed New Haven Airport into West Haven, CT late at night or early in the morning?
Question:
I'm flying into Tweed New Haven Airport and will be arriving around 11:30 pm on a Friday and will be trying to get to West Haven. I'm no good at reading bus schedules but from what I can tell, the city bus doesn't run that late? I will also need to get to the airport by 5 am on Monday. So my question is: Is anyone here familiar with the area and the bus routes? If so, can you tell me if what I've figured out is correct, that I can't get a bus that early or late? The airport website lists Metro Taxi & Heritage Taxi. Are they good choices and how much should it cost to get from the airport to West Haven (the very edge of West Haven, on Kimberly right across the river)? Are there any other options? Renting a car is not an option for me and I will call the bus company in the morning, but I'm looking for advice from someone who knows the area and the transportation system. Thanks!!

Answer:
Take a cab, the buses won't work the hours you need. Metro is fine, make sure you call the night before to arrange pickup on Monday morning, the cabs are surprisingly busy at that hour. Metro is easiest to remember -- 203 777 7777 (Their motto is All you need is 7). The fare should be $20-ish.

Parking risks at west haven?
Question:
Hello. I have a 1990 Pontiac Trans Am in excellent condition in which I dumped 11 grand into over the course of five years. I need a car for college and I amd wondering if I can safely park it in an area where crime rate is high. The apartment complex is closed off by a fence but the main gate is open during the day for anyone to enter. The people here drive cars that have rims worth more than the car itself. The Stereo is expensive as well. Can I park my car here with no worries? Does this culture of people like muscle cars and alloy wheels?

Answer:
Well, yes and no. I say you can park it because there are some drivers that have parked their cars in places that have high crime rates and fortunately they have never had anything stolen or vandalized. However I also say no, because when you are parking in a high crime filled area you are at risk for theft. There are alternatives to parking in high crime areas. You could have your car installed with a security alarm. Having an alarm system does help because it can deter criminals from actually breaking in the vehicle. The second thing you could do is if you are concerned about the area, talk with local authorities. If you see any suspicious activity in the area, call them and ask them to prowl the area. It is known that if there an increased presence in police in the area, crimes are less likely to occur.

how much time do I have to file a police report?
Question:
My car stereo was stolen while the car was fixed at budget transmission center in west haven, ct a week ago. I want to know if I still have time to file a police report. answer me please.

Answer:
You can ALWAYS file a report. The sooner after you discover the theft, the better chance it will matter.

Where can you get old style vintage (wild west etc) photos taken in Orlando, Fl?
Question:
We had one done at Wild Bills Wild West dinner show years ago where you dress up in vintage clothing and have sepia pictures taken to purchase. We've been a few times but haven't seen anywhere similar since and Wild Bills closed years ago! Any ideas? Were going in 3 weeks and staying on I-drive but have a car so we can travel a bit further.

Answer:
I seem to remember that The General Store in Old Town (or certainly one of the shops in Old Town) do the type of photo you are looking for. It is a great place to visit especially Friday and Saturday nights. I have read some good reviews and some bad but we have always found it a very family friendly place to go and love wandering around the shops, even if they are a little over priced for some things. Well worth a visit and I am certain you will be able to get your special photos to add to your memories of your visit to Orlando. Have a great time.

Moving to Chicago and would like some information.?
Question:
I am moving to Chicago and am a big basketball and hockey fan, a realtor has suggested some nice properties on w.madison (close to the united center). One she mentioned is west haven 2200 ?block of w madison She has stated that I could probably just walk to the games since I would live so close and could even walk downtown to the loop. My question is the area good for walking to and from the games and maybe walking and doing some shopping without using a car all the time?

Answer:
Gentrification is moving westward along that corridor, but it is still an area of sharp contrasts between rich & poor. As with ALL city neighborhoods, walking at night is not recommended.

I saw a car chase on I-95 in CT on saturday, where can i find out what happened?
Question:
It was a black mercedes benz with no license plate driving east, just west new haven. When I was at the 95/91 split I saw another cop with lights flashing go onto 91, so I imagine they went that way.

Answer:
routine occurance especially on the weekend. I think I-95 and I-91 are about the fastest roads in the east.

I haven't done anything in a year. Literally.?
Question:
My parents have promised me from the sun to the moon that eventually I would leave this town. Ever since 1998, we were on the verge of moving to England, to California, to Baton Rouge, to Chicago, Kentucky, the list goes on. As life works, hopes get crushed. The only thing that gets me (and the only reason I'm seriously taking the consideration of posting this) is that I haven't done shit for the two years since I last took courses at college. I overworked myself, had a nervous breakdown, snapped once, tried to join the military, had a relationship, got drunk a lot, partied a ton, met god knows how many people and new friends, and yet after two years I'm back in the exact same situation I was, sitting in my parents basement, only two years older, alone, and now I don't have any idea what to do now. I have gained nothing. Everyone else has a license, and cars, and possibly an apartment. I instead have sat around and played video games and getting drunk. And even worse, I'm still stuck in the same house that I've been stuck in for over twelve years, since the Clinton administration, because I don't have the means to get out! My future I see dying before my eyes due to the economy, to my parents neglect, and my own sloth and stupidity. I know that I'm only 19 going on 20, and that there are people over 40 living with their parents due to the economy these days, but I can't sit here and wait for money to come my way any longer, or for some miracle to happen. And yet I don't know what else I can do. I really need some advice, because as far as I can tell, at the rate I'm going, I'll have to get a shit job and work for a couple years around here, take student loans for college, and hopefully get accepted despite having failing grades from two years ago. This is driving me nuts. The world has changed and I'm still stuck here. I've never seen the west coast. Is there anyone else out there who has it worse than me? What kind of advice can someone give me? I get fired from every job I work at and I can't get hired anywhere because I don't have any work worthy references, and I don't have nearly the same qualifications that people with degrees do. I need help and right now, advice.

Area code decals on cars?
Question:
I live in Phoenix, AZ and in the past 6 mos I've seen a number of cars with the central Phoenix area code in big numbers on the back window of cars. It's "602" and sometimes that's combined with a sihouette of a phoenix rising. Just today I saw a decal of "623." That's the area code for the west Phoenix area and western suburbs. Is this popular in other areas too outside of Phoenix? We have 3 Phoenix metro area codes, but I haven't seen a "480" decal yet (that's the eastern Phoenix metro area code). I'm just curious if this is a trend other places too.

Answer:
It is.
