Is Hartford Connecticut A Repub or Democratic Majority Population?

Just curious to which party would be more likely to create/ have impact on the people to act they way they did when that man got run over by that car, it was like watching zombies reactions. Is this city more democratic or republican? Interesting Salty is blaming the man who crossed the street? What is that about? How the heck could they tell his race - he was laying in the middle of street all bloody!? Now your saying its a racist city too? Interesting?

Answer:
Well, the state most often goes democrat in national elections, only one republican, although our state gov is a good mix, Jodi Rell Kicks A$$! I think Hartford itself leans pretty left, but most cities do.

How Far is Hartford, Connecticut, and New Haven Connecticut from NYC?
Question:
It is probably a chance that I will be going to college in: University of Hartford, or University of New Haven. I have heard that Connecticut is a close state to NY and I was wondering how long it would take for me to get to Hartford & New Haven from NYC. I do NOT have a car, and I do NOT have enough money for flight (airplane) tickets. So what are the ways in which I can get to New Haven & Hartford WITHOUT taking a car or a an airplane. also, How long is hartford and new haven from NYC. -Thank you!

Answer:
New York City to New Haven -- 83 miles (133km) New York City to Hartford -- 121 miles (194km) Both New Haven and Hartford are located about 40 miles (64km) away. New Haven is closer to the City and very accessible by public transit. You can take the Metro-North's New Haven Line from Grand Central to New Haven. The trip take about 2 hours and the fare is around $30 for a round trip off peak ticket. If you're considering going to Hartford, you can take Metro-North's New Haven Line to New Haven and, for an addition $15, you can take the New Haven-Springfield Shuttle to Hartford. The New Haven-Springfield Shuttle is operated by Amtrak, therefore, that explain the addition $15 fare. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck

Ignore the snow route signs, it's July.. If you have questions, call the Hartford Parking Authority or Police Department. If you follow the other signs, you will be fine. They don't check meters on weekends or holidays either.

Can you help me find the best way to get from JFK to Hartford Connecticut?
Question:
Hi all, I am flying into JFK in October and need to get to Hartford CT. I already have my airline tickets. Flying from NYC to Hartford is very expensive and is not an option. I have been looking into car services, but they too seem very expensive. I am looking at trains, but really need some advise as to the best way to do this. Do I take a car into the city and take Amtrak? Do I do the same and instead take the Metro North to New Haven? Or is there a way to get from JFK to CT without going into the city? I don't want to rent a car because I will be arriving at 5:30 AM and will most likely be sleep deprived. Also I will going back from Hartford to NYC for a few days and don't want to drive in the city. Comfort is an issue as I have arthritis in just about every joint in my body. Is Metro North comfortable for a 2.5 hour trip... If I take Amtrak is there a way to get between Penn Station and GCT by train? I am very confused and hope that a native New Yorker or someone in the know can help. Thanks in advance. :)

Answer:
Unforturnately, Metro-North does not go to Hartford. It only goes as far as New Haven. Therefore, you will need to take Amtrak from Penn Station to Hartford. From JFK Airport, take the JFK Airtrain, which is an automated shuttle train, to Jamaica Station, where a connection can be made to the Long Island Rail. The fare on the Airtrain is $5. Once in Jamaica, take the LIRR to Penn Station. The one way off peak fare from Jamaica to the City will cost you $5.75. If you're arriving on the weekends, you can purchase a CityTicket for $3.50. You can get the New York City bound train from tracks 1, 2 or 3. When you get to Penn Station, exit the LIRR train and following the directional signs to the Amtrak Concourse. Take the Northeast Regional from NY Penn Station to Hartford. The one way fare on Amtrak ranges in price from $35 to $90. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck

Advice for buying first car please?
Question:
I'm 17 and landed a local job, just need some piece of shit to bring me from point a to point b. My first car too so an automatic would be nice. I don't really know much about cars, so can you look through craigslist pages for cars under $2000 (all I have at the moment) and tell me why their good deals/what I need to get from the owner to legally make it my car. Oh, and I live in the Hartford area (Connecticut) so that would be where to set craigslist settings to, thanks!

Answer:
Yes, if you just want cheap transportation look for a small 4cyl. Automatic is easier to drive stick gets better gas mileage It would be best if you had someone knowledgeable go with you. There are many cars that would apear to fit your needs on Craigslist. Here are some suggestions: http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/2587039088.html http://hart ford.craigslist.org/cto/2587031265.html http://hartford.craigsli st.org/cto/2563790578.html Cars to look for: Toyota Camry/Corrola, Nissan Maxima/Sentra, Hyundai Elantra, Kia rio etc. At this price range you will be talking about a 10 to 15 year old car. In general a family (boring) type car is your best bet. Look for a stock (unmodified) well maintained vehicle. Things to check for: Tires, do they have good tread? Does the ac, radio, windows, door locks work? Oil, should be clear or brown (not grey or milky). Transmission fluid, should be red or pink. Coolant green or red/pink. If the paint inside doorjambs or under the hood does not match the interior, the car has been repainted and may have been wrecked. Look for obvious defects broken windshield, hoses, wires, major leaks. Start the car, drive it around untill it comes to full operating tempurature (5-10 min) and up to highway speed. Does it overheat, make funny sounds/smells or have warning lights on. Does it stall or run roughly? These are just a few of the things to check if you have no one to help you. You can also have a car checked out by a sevice shop for a fee. Do not buy anything that has been modified for "performance". Lastly, if you see, hear or smell somthing that makes you think WTF? Keep looking. Good Luck!

to copy CAR KEY, "Daewoo Lanos"?
Question:
I have a Korean car, a Lanos from Daewoo. And I want to make copies of my car key. However, I have found that the key makers cannot get the "generic keys" similar to the Daewoo car keys. I ask around, but I do not find somebody able to copy keys for me. I understand the main reason is the failure of Daewoo Enterprise in the USA. Since Daewoo is not doing well, Daewoo cars are poorly supported. Yet I still want to find somebody to copy the car key. I guess this material is not entirely impossible to get. If a key maker can get comprehensive supplies, maybe he or she can do it for me. Hence I am seeking a very capable key maker/ locksmith. I am around Hartford, Connecticut, USA. If you know any capable guy, please let me know. Thanks.

Answer:

Anyone have info on how to access Police LICENSE PLATE SCAN DATA?
Question:
This article showed up in the local paper this AM. (Read below) It states that the license plate scanned info collected by police vehicle cameras is available to the public but does not tell you how to access it.Looked online and came up empty handed on searches. This is interesting how BIG BROTHER can be in everyone's business. ARTICLE: Connecticut police keep license plate-scan data Published: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 By The Associated Press HARTFORD — Connecticut police departments are holding on to data from millions of license plate scans that pinpoint when and where drivers have been. A database compiled by a group of 10 towns includes more than 3.1 million license plate scans by patrol cars since the summer of 2010. The American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut obtained the database through a Freedom of Information request and provided a copy to The Associated Press. The ACLU and some lawmakers say the practice raises privacy concerns. The database can be obtained by the public and searched to determine when and where individual cars were seen. State Rep. Gary Holder-Winfield, D-New Haven, said Tuesday that proposed legislation would restrict the amount of time police can keep scanned information and restrict its use to law enforcement. etc...... Bill...I saw that too...but the websites I looked at were not the ones to easily access the info. I find this so interesting. I pass quite a few State police cruisers every day. My neighbor is a state cop and his fellow officers stop by here regularly....their cruisers pass my house daily. I have nothing to worry about, but it would be great to check out!
