traveling from indianapolis to paonia colorado.?
Question:
I am planning to travel from indianapolis to paonia colorado 81428 in april. I would like to fly to either denver airport, or other regional air ports and either go by public transport, or car pool and go to paonia. can some one help me what is the best air port to get in to -- denver international, montrose regional air port, walker field air port in grand junction, aspen - pitkin country airport-- which is the best air port to get to to use the public transport to get to a place called solar energy instiute in paonia. which air ports have either a gray hound bus or some thing like that to get to the paonia. any further information you can provide will be extremly helpful thanks.

Answer:
There isn't any public transportation to Paonia. I imagine that flying into Grand Junction would be much less expensive than flying into Aspen. You might also consider flying into Montrose. Your best bet would be to rent a car in either Denver, Grand Junction or Montrose.

Rte. 90 Montrose to Moab across Uncompahgre Plateau?
Question:
Have you ever driven this route? Mapquest wants me to circle north through Grand Junction and across I-70 (shortest time), or else circle south along US-550 and State Rte. 62. But the shortest distance is across the mountains along Colorado Rte. 90. I can force Mapquest to send me that way, but it says that the 120 miles will take 4 hours (with portions unpaved). This is one segment of a two-week car camping trip starting & ending in St. George, Utah. Will be driving a Dodge Grand Caravan, and will be in that area during the third week of October. What do you think of crossing the mountains in the Uncompahgre N.F. rather than circling around them to the south?

Answer:
The route from Montrose to Moab by way of Norwood takes about 30 minutes longer than the route through Grand Junction. Both routes are very nice drives. If you have the time, I recommend that you visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and then drive to Ouray to see the San Juan Mountains, Box Canyon, and the Hot Springs. Then reverse direction and drive through Colorado National Monument on your way to I-70. Utah State Highway 128 from Cisco to Moab is a terrible road but the scenery is incomparable. Don't miss Islands in the Sky in Canyonlands National Park and Landscape Arch in Arches National Park.
