Towing Laws in Colorado? Question: My car was towed by a private company in Colorado, in the city of littleton. It was parking in a private property lot. What are the requirements to tow it? Does the property owner need to be present? How long does it need to be there to be towed? Are there state laws, county laws (arapahoe), and city laws in regards to this issue. Answer: The only law regarding "towing" refers to abandoned vehicles upon the interstates and highways( by law 30 working days, by policy 3 working days if on the roadway)...private property however is different. If your vehicle is left on the property of another, the owner of the property (or his designee) can call a tow company and have the car removed. No, the owner of the property does not have to be present when the vehicle is towed. There are no requirements to tow a vehicle off of a private parking lot. If the owner or manager does not want it there, it can be towed. |

Your comments on this essay I wrote about the Columbine high school shooting? Question: We have to write about a murder, so I chose this. "An eye for an eye" Sometimes the path towards revenge can lead to murder. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were friends with a sacred bond. They both lived in Littleton, Colorado. They shared many things in common. They both liked violent video games, english, trench coats, cars, and especially guns. What they also had in common was that they both were social misfits, as that is what Columbine high school students claimed. The two boys would be seen either walking the halls alone or together. Looking fearless and fierce on the outside, Harris and Klebold were really disturbed and confused on the inside. Harris and Klebold also had dark and disturbing secrets. Harris kept a private journal that contained notes about how much he hated the world and everyone, especially people who have "bad grammar". Klebold and Harris had archive footage video tapes that they took in Harris's basement. These videos show Harris and Klebold screaming out their rage to the camera. Was this a way of letting out all their anger that they had towards their classmates? Obviously for Eric and Dylan this wasn't good enough. Another set of archive footage was yet to be discovered, showing the two boys firing at a target in a forest in Denver. These guns were lent by an old friend of the two teenagers. When Harris's journal was discovered, it also contained drawings of gunmen, and a floor plan of Columbine High school, almost as if they were planning something. They were in fact planning the shooting spree many months before. April 20th finally came. "Today's the day." both boys said. Harris's request to joining the marines was denied a few weeks before, due to his past of being an outlaw. He didn't care, because he knew today was the day that he was going to die. Both boys drove in separate cars to the school. They arrived around 11:30 AM, ready to shoot without any hesitation. They contain many different types of shooting guns, even some knifes. They spot Rachael Scott, a Columbine high school student, peacefully sitting with her friend on the school grounds. She is the first to be shot and killed. Their next stop was the library, where many students are studying. As they walked throughout the halls to the library with the guns, no student seems to be alarmed. They thing it is just another practical "end of the school year" joke. But they are very wrong. When Eric and Dylan enter the library, they shout, "Everyone get up, especially the white caps." Students who wore the "white caps" were Columbine athletes, and these were supposedly the ones who took part in bullying the two boys. Eric and Dylan begin taunting all of the students in the library with an over friendly tone of voice, and they soon begin to shoot. After being in the library for over thirty minutes, they soon leave the library and continue walking the halls. Archive surveillance footage shows Eric and Dylan bombing the cafeteria, but the bombs fail to set off. No soon after the shooting started, SWAT teams surround the high school, and Columbine gets evacuated. Unlucky students who were in the boy's view get shot, some severely wounded, but some killed. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold then go to the upstairs of the empty and bloody library. Harris shoots himself in the mouth, and Dylan shoots himself in the head, killing them both. 13 people were killed that day, and dozens were wounded. Columbine was then remodeled about a year later, but the shocking and tragic history of the school can never be retouched. Conclusion: These deadly teenagers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, let the violent idea of revenge get the better of them. Some people believe that they were simply born bad, and they had twisted minds. Others believe that Harris was a master manipulator to Klebold, and manipulated him to take part in this shooting rampage due to his hate for the world. But the most common theory for this case is revenge, which is a big motivator to kill. Harris and Klebold were lured into the path towards revenge, because they took An eye for an eye. To destroy their pain, they thought they had to destory the source of the pain. Answer: While a decent recitation of the facts concerning that day, you do little to explore the actual motivations, leaving your conclusion somewhat empty and unsubstantiated. Were they mentally ill? What form of bullying occurred? What confounding factors of their home life, work life and other social endeavours would serve to highlight that this was simply "revenge"? You state it was "an eye for an eye", which appears on the surface to be a condemnation of Old Testament morality, yet you fail to prove it. At best, it's an "eye for a perceived slight", which is not the balance the quoted text applies to. |

Is this good writing? please tell me because I want a lot of opinions!!!! thanks!!? Question: Tears falling like rain in a thunderstorm. Hugs given out to random people. Hands grasping together and never letting go. People screaming and sobbing. Police cars all around, officers searching the building. Paramedics carrying bloody people into ambulances; rushing them to the hospital. Teenagers grabbing their friends and sobbing “How could they do this?” Parents screamed “ How could 2 teenagers do this to us?” The agony, the pain, the devastation, and sorrow was caused by two people. Twelve wonderful friends, family members, brothers and sisters lost their lives and will never get them back. How could two teenage boys create such a plan that could ruin people’s lives, and their friend’s and family’s lives too? On April 20th, 1999, tragedy struck a small town called Littleton, Colorado at Columbine high school. 2 teenage boys ruined many lives. Their named where Dylan KLebold and Eric Harris. They were 2 teenagers that killed 12 students and 1 teacher. They shot many more. They were picked on at school and didn’t fit in. The boys planned the dreadful day out. They planned in their rooms and if their parents would have went into the, then they could have found many things that could have led up to the tragedy. Police found out that there was a website that led up to the depressing event. The day didn’t go as exactly as planned. They wanted a bomb to go off at exactly 11:17 but something went wrong and it didn’t. If it would have gone off, then they would have shot any survivors running out of the building. After they realized it didn’t go off, they went back inside the building and starting shooting. They were laughing as they didn’t care of what pain they were giving people. The teachers got frightened and told their students to get into the classrooms. Sometimes between the time off 12:05 and 12:08 the boys went to the south side of the school and shot themselves in the head. That ended the tragic event. But they didn’t just end it; it started a whole new part in people’s lives that they never would have thought about. sorry it wouldnt let me indent it. Answer: Good analogy at the beginning with the rain. Watch your grammar and of course follow the golden rule of show don't tell. Remember to write out the numbers. This is an excellent start though. Good Luck |

Inside Car LEDs? Question: Hey I have a question I am In Highlands Ranch Colorado(littleton) I know that having Flashing Colors Under your car can be illegal But I have some Blue LED's that i have in my car and they can Pulse to the music i am playing. Since they are not under the car and I was wondering if it is legal for me to have them on while Driving Since they are in my car I dont see an Issue but want to check and make sure Can someone help me out Answer: Edit: See my reply to the message you sent me. As long as you can concentrate on the road, I would not have a problem with it. If it is affecting your driving, then take it out. But, no, you would not be stopped for having this inside your car. Generally, police are more concerned with adjustments made on the outside of a vehicle than with inside adjustments. The only way I can think of this posing a problem is if this will be a distraction to other motorists around you. Could they see it from their position on the road even thought it is inside the car? |

Can somebody please tell me if after the first arrest had police checked immigration status would this of ? Question: Can somebody please tell me if after the first arrest had police checked immigration status would this of happened ? Didn't the illegal know after being arrested once for no drivers license he is not suppose to drive again? LITTLETON (MyFOXColorado.com) - Police in Littleton believe a drunk driver was behind the wheel of an SUV that crashed into an apartment building and killed a man. They say the driver, 22-year-old Adrian Pizana-Rodriguez is an illegal immigrant with no driving privileges in Colorado. The man who was killed had just opened the door of the building at 368 West Powers Avenue Sunday night, when the vehicle crashed into him. Police say the driver was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail for Vehicular Homicide. Other charges were pending Monday. Investigators say the driver hit two cars in the parking lot, lost control, and then his Ford Explorer crashed into the building. Police say a man who was sitting on a bench was also hit. His injuries were believed to be minor. http://www.myfoxcolorado.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId= 7333674&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1 Answer: If the police had been able to enforce the laws already on the books this illegal would have been arrested and off the streets. Thus this tragedy would not have happened and it is happening way to often. Over 50,000 good American citizens de ad since 9-11, over 10 times as many that have been killed in the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars combined over the same time period. Cristale, it seems like you could come up with something a little more intelligent to say, to back your views. Instead you post the same ignorant thing on different threads. Bonita, this is very much an illegal alien issue. I agree that not all illegals are here to cause havoc. That said by definition they are all criminals and many if not a majority have committed multiple crimes. If we were to get this one issue under control we could significantly reduce crime across the board, in the U.S. and there would also be a significant positive impact to our economy and all social programs. |

Specialty Frame Shop? Question: I hit a curb in by car, and possibly bent the subframe, crossarm...or, I really don't know.. Anyone know of a dedicated frame shop or a body shop with the right tools to fix this? I like in the littleton/lakewood/denver area...so somewhere in Colorado. Thanks Answer: I highly doubt you bent the sub-frame just from hitting a curb... maybe your lower control arm, but not your sub-frame. You need an alignment shop, not a frame shop. A good alignment shop will change any bent suspension parts and align your car. If by chance part of your frame is bent, which is highly unlikely, they will also know where to send it to get it fixed. You don't straighten a bent sub-frame anyway, the only fix is to change it. |
