How to get from Greeley, Colorado to Fort Collins, Colorado?
Question:
I do not have a car and my friends can't drive me because its pointless for them to. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get there. Its really important that I do. Its during the weekend on a Saturday. So please if anyone can help me that would be fantastic! I just don't know how to get there!

Answer:
Take hwy 34 West From Greeley to I25 North in Loveland. Fort collins has like 4 or so exits you can take to get into town! Good luck!

Anything you can tell me about Greeley Colorado?
Question:
My family will be moving there soon, I've never been and was just wondering what it's like. I was looking to rent an apartment but all of them complian of car break-ins. Is Greeley just bad or are there nice areas? Any information you have would help, thanks!! :)

Answer:
Try Country Club West apartments. They tend to run about $100 more a month, but I have never heard of a break in around here. Greeley is a great little college town with a lot of agriculture business too. Stay away from 10th and 11th Ave if you want to be able to sleep at night because that area is mostly college kids who party all night. Cactus Canyon is probably the best "club" that Greeley has to offer right now and they are a combination of Country and Pop music. Sadly, Texas Roadhouse is probably the best restaurant, unless you make your way up to Centerra and then you HAVE to try Bent Fork. Greeley Mall is good for nothing except the movie theater and DON'T go to the other movie theater (seats are uncomfortable and the floor is sticky). Watch speed limits because they change ALL the time and cops LOVE to get you right as they change.

How easy is it to get around Greeley without a car?
Question:
I am considering UNC for college next year, but a good public transportation/ easy to get around by bike or foot? city is very important to me... I live in Colorado, but have only been to Greeley once, in the middle of winter. Thanks!

Answer:
Yes, you should be fine there with bus, bike, etc. but things are a little more spread out there than say a fort collins or boulder where everything you need is right there.....

i lost my car keys where can i get new ones?
Question:
my car is a 1995 eagle summit where can i get new keys in greeley colorado and how much will they cost?

Answer:
Two Options: 1) If you go to a Jeep dealer with proof of ownership and the VIN of the car, they should be able to look up the key code and make a key for you based on that. Many manufacturers can do this. If they can't, then #2 is all you can do... 2) Call a Mobile Locksmith: they can come out to your car, take the locks all apart and recode them to a new key. Search Yahoo Local for mobile locksmith (I did it for you, below), or the yellow page.

can i get some opinions on fort collins, colorado?
Question:
Hi there! I am looking to relocate from Southern California to Fort Collins, Colorado. I grew up in gorgeous Redondo Beach and due to insanely high rents, moved to Palm Springs a few months ago. Although this town is fine, I am not having a good time here. A lot of the area is dominated by gays or retirees. I have no problem with these people but being a 25 year old straight female, I don't quite fit in. I have been here for almost four months and have yet to have made friends Although I would LOVE to be able to move back home to the South Bay, I simply cannot afford it anymore. Rents have sky-rocketed and the prices that would make your eyes bug out in disbelief. Areas that I would be able to afford have been taken over by gangs and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $1,600 a month rent for a place where I have to look over my shoulder and have pepper spray in hand just to walk to and from my car. I have always had Colorado in the back of my mind, for what reason I don't know. I have never been there, but love the mountains and the type of weather that comes with it. Growing up, I've always gone camping and love the "roughing it" atmosphere. I'm not totally interested in living on a ranch or in a very rural area, but a little dirt and dust doesn't scare me. I have been doing some research on Colorado and Fort Collins seems to be the place to go. I am educated, intelligent, and personable. I am still young enough to enjoy going out here and there but would love to be able to be in a town where I would be able to find a potential someone who I could see myself settling down with I am looking to live in a SAFE area, meaning low robbery/vandalism rates, no heavy drug use (outside of marijuana, knowing that it is all too common, especially around the colleges), NO gangs (although I AM well aware that it is impossible to get away from them altogether), and a neighborhood where I can feel safe walking my dog down the street at in the evening, without having to buy a tazer Mainly, I just want to live in a cozy neighborhood with friendly neighbors. I want to be able to say hi to someone walking down the street and have them smile back. In California, you're more apt to get a smug look or be ignored by someone wondering why you're saying hello in the first place. I am tired of the pretentiousness of Southern California and would trade the beach for some snow and a family oriented area. I want to go somewhere where people are involved in outdoor activities or where there are yoga classes or hiking groups/buddies. I don't mind trading in the hustle and bustle and pimped out SUVs of this city life for bundling up in the winter, building snowmen and snowangels, and riding my bike with new friends! It's time for a change and I can't express how ready I am for it!! I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life and looking forward to what the future holds Now, if you've read this far, you've got an idea of what I'm looking for. Or at least I hope so! Let me ask some questions... I will need a 2 bedroom place that WILL accept a small (12 pound) dog for no more than $1,000 a month. I prefer a house with a yard but am open to an apartment with a patio or balcony. Where in the Fort Collins area should I look into? Where should I stay away from? From some posts I've read, Greeley seems to have more free standing houses that are in my price range but is the "stay away from" area; Loveland seems a bit of a better area, and Old Town is nice if you can afford it. I am interested in other people's opinions and neutrally biased points of view. Any information you may have will be MUCH appreciated!! Considering I've written so much, congrats to you if you've read it all!

Answer:
For what you are looking for you really can't go wrong anywhere from downtown Denver (Lodo) all the way up to Ft. Collins. There are so many great areas in that northern front range. Stay away from Greeley. It has more of a farming community and plains feel than a front range feel. Plus the smell in winter time is uh, less than agreeable. (livestock) As far as rental prices go, typically the further towards the mountains you are, the higher the rent. So while Boulder is a nice city, its housing is much, much higher than Superior just to the east which is higher than Erie just a little further east. Northern Suburbs of Denver like Northglenn, Westminster, and Thornton are all nice but they are suburbs and feel that way. Starbucks and super targets along side master planned communities. If you are considering Loveland I would also have a look at Longmont. It really depends on what you want. All of those communities, except perhaps the northern suburbs of Denver, have older smaller homes that would be affordable and trendy new apartment buildings converted from old brick canneries or the like. What Ft. Collins would offer over the others except for Boulder is that it is a college town and has the feel of a college town. What I did was got a place on a month to month and then explored as much as I could before I eventually bought a house with a killer view in Frederick. I really like downtown Louisville, LaFayette, Longmont, Loveland, and Ft. Collins. Good luck! You will love it out here.

Can I get this reckless driving ticket dropped?
Question:
I recently got a ticket for reckless driving in Greeley, Colorado. The ticket carries 8 points and is an automatic summons to court. I was with my friend and in a parking lot of a local King Soopers. I took a turn a little fast so my tires squealed. I got out of the car and was approached by a lady who wasn't happy about my driving, I basically told her not to tell me how to drive and proceeded into the store. When I got back outside the lady was out there with her husband and they would not let me get in my car and they called the cops. A cop showed up and listened to both sides of our story (The lady saying I almost hit two King Soopers employees when I obviously didn't). After sitting in his car for a while he issued me the ticket. My question is if it is probable to get this ticket dropped because the cop didn't see me and I have a friend who can testify that what the lady told the cop was wrong. The cop also didn't ask for my proof of insurance or registration so when I took another look at the ticket the make of my car was wrong. The VIN number on the ticket also did not match my car. Would this be enough to get the ticket dropped if I got the help of an attorney? I know I need an attorney so don't just tell me to get an attorney, that does not help me at all.

Answer:
Reckless driving is a misdemeanor crime as opposed to a simple traffic violation. You could even request a 6 person jury trial at your expense. The lady put herself as the victim and she will be the person testifying against you in court - not the police officer. The lady will get to describe her side of the story to the judge. You can also tell your side of the story to the judge. The judge will decide whose story is more credible. Tickets are never dismissed for simple errors such as the ones you describe. Also, since the ticket is for a criminal offense the officer and the lady will both receive a summons for the court to appear. So not showing up isn't an option. If one or both of them don't show up they could be charged with a crime. How old are you? Colorado has a graduated drivers license system. If you are 16 your license is suspended after earning 6 points. Your license is suspended for earning 8 points for age 17 and 18. After 18 it only gets suspended for 12 points. In Colorado this is the reckless driving statute (see second link below to search) (1) A person who drives a motor vehicle, bicycle, electrical assisted bicycle, or low-power scooter in such a manner as to indicate either a wanton or a willful disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving. The lady would have to describe to the judge something you did that showed a wanton or a willful disregard for the safety of persons or property. In order for you to be found guilty. Too bad you didn't just apologize to the lady for your error and let it go at that. If you wouldn't have got her all worked up she probably wouldn't have called the police. Oh well hopefully a lesson learned. If you get your driver's license suspended your insurance will skyrocket to $500 a month in 2012 when you are allowed to reapply. Those high rates could last as long as two years. Assuming you pay $100 a month for insurance the insurance penalty alone will cost you $9,600.00 over the two years. In early 2015 your rates should go back to normal.

Can I press charges on someone who said they were making a citizen arrest?
Question:
I was driving one night and I squealed my tires in a store parking lot in Greeley, Colorado and a random woman approached me and tried to talk to me but I ignored her and proceeded into the store. When I came back out of the store the woman and her husband were waiting at my car and her husband said he was making a "citizen arrest" and held me back from getting in my own car. They called the cops after that and continued to keep me from getting in my car until the cop got there. When he got there I was issued a ticket for reckless driving. I just want to know if what the woman's husband did was illegal? And if it was can I press charges on him?

Answer:
Criminal law is not my area, but sounds like grounds for a civil suit for false imprisonment. Contest the ticket.

I got a ticket for something i did't do, im fighting it but a little nervous... I need advice!?
Question:
So a little under a month ago I was pulled over in Greeley Colorado at 2 in the morning and was told by the officer that I ran a blinking red light. The thing is that there are only 3 blinking red lights on that street and the one that I supposedly ran is on the street that I live on. I had 2 other people in the car with me and I was taking one home from a party. I know that I stopped and am pretty sure that the officer pulled me over because there were 3 college-age students in the car and it was so early in the morning. The first thing the officer asked was if I had been drinking when I said no he asked me an additional 4 times and seemed to be obsessed with it. He didn't test me or anything like that. Now I have court in a week and I am a little nervous because I've never plead not guilty to a driving offense. How you you approach the situation and what do you think my odds are of getting out of the ticket?

Answer:
If the cop doesn't bother to show up for your court appearance you'll get off, so you might get off w/o much effort. I would just clearly state why you are sure you didn't run the red light, and you should be fine. Be as specific as possible, and stay honest, don't try to make it sound better than it was.
