Where can I camp & hike in (or near) Boulder, Colorado? Question: I'm planning a trip to Colorado in July, and I'd like to work in a couple days of hiking and a night of camping in there. My husband and I are not inexperienced hikers, all we need is someone to show us where to start, then turn us loose so we can hike for a day, camp that night, then hike back to the car the next day. Is there anywhere we would be able to do that? thanks! appreciate it! Answer: Just go out the door, head to the mountains. You can hike TO there! Try the Chamber of Commerce or the USGS for maps to specific trails. |

Boulder, Colorado to Eldora. Do I need 4 wheel drive? Question: I am planning to take a trip to boulder the first weekend of february and not sure if i should rent a larger vehicle as of now i have a compact car. Would i need something with four wheel drive to get to Eldora Ski Resort? Answer: Needing 4 wheel drive to get to Eldora is a dream right now. We are having a horrid ski season, very little snow. Even if it does storm then, it is a well maintained route so front wheel drive will do fine. Another thing to consider is that RTD does have bus service that goes daily from Boulder to Eldora ski resort. I think it's $8 but I can't remember. So if it's really bad you could always ride the city bus up there. |

how far is fort collins from boulder in colorado? Question: like how many hours does it take to go from one to another by car? Answer: I drove to Fort Collins from Boulder when my parents came to visit, it was a pretty easy drive, almost all highway. I think it took a bit over an hour. We went West towards Denver and then North on 25 and then had to take another road back West to FC. |

How to get from colorado springs to boulder via bus? Question: So the guy I am seeing goes to school in boulder and I go to colorado springs. We are gonna trade weekends- or that is my plan, only problem is I don't have a car and he does and I cannot let him drive here every weekend cause of gas and time. Anyways we will spend the weekend with each other but I can't figure it out, that is how to get up to boulder- can anyone help me I tried greyhound but that would take 23 hours, which is stupid since it is only a 1 1/2 hours away!!! Please help? Answer: When you enter 'Boulder' as your destination on the Greyhound webpage, you have to enter it as "Boulder,CO". Otherwise, it assumes you mean Boulder, Montana...that is the problem. You will see that the trip to Boulder ,Co is 4 1/2 hrs. |

Unofficial camping near boulder co? Question: Hey so I'm looking for some unofficial camping locations within about 30-45min of boulder colorado. what I mean by this is I don't want to set up my tent alongside others and near cars. I'd like to go off into the woods somewhere and set it up. so does anyone know of a good place for me to do this? Answer: In the national forests near you and BLM lands you can camp in area's that are referred to as dispersed camping. You drive or hike into an area pick out a spot, some are posted for such with yellow posts. There is usually no fee and no water or toilet some may have a picnic table and fire ring. You may need to have an adventure pass if you bring a car that fee is $5. for a day $30. for the year.
