Are cars cheaper to buy in Virginia or California?

I am moving from Northern Virginia to Irvine, California. I need to buy a car. Moving the car is paid for my company, so should I buy the car in Virginia or should I buy it in California? What would be cheaper?

Id go with virginia because california just wants your money lol. You could also check how much a specific car would cost in cali and one in virginia and also take into consideration how much tax would cost you because cali is pretty high like 8% or so.

Virginia charges for car tax per car that you own. They do not charge "more" for a second (or third) car. The tax is the same whether the cars are owned by one person or two different people. The only difference in car tax rates may be based on whether the car is "garaged" (registered). Urban areas, such as Fairfax County, have a higher tax rate than rural areas, such as Lee County. The "car tax relief" that was implemented earlier this decade means that the individual only pays 30% of the locality's tax. The remaining 70% is paid to the localities by the Commonwealth. For more specific information, use Google or Yahoo to search for "car tax relief" and the city or county where the vehicles would be garaged.

I'm considering getting underbody lights for my car and I live in PA, I know that they're illegal to drive with and have them on, but I wasn't sure if they were illegal even to have attatched to your cars body? I go to school in Virginia and I was wondering the same thing for their regulations. Searching through DOT's million page books on what sort of heaters you can and can not have in your car wasn't a big help, so if anyone knows this or could offer information that would be helpful!

What is West Virginia's law regarding used cars and state inspections?

Hagy's Body Shop in Coeburn, Virginia (276)395-6883 and Wells Body Shop in Big Stone Gap, Virginia (276)523-4657 Both are AWESOME when it comes to custom paint jobs for autos. Been there done that!! These guys are all small town, but BIG CITY paint knowledge!! A++++ Both located in the southwestern area of Virginia about 45 minutes to an hour from the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN. Have used both, only reason I didn't use Hagy's the second time I needed a custom paint job and went to Wells was due to a scheduling conflict, not due to quality of performance. Like I said, both do awesome jobs and the price is very reasonable.

Let me start out by saying I'm not the smartest person when it comes to auto repair. Last week I had an accident with my Honda Passport and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the Internet for tips, but the procedures were way too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs.
