Does anyone know the law in Ohio for buying and selling cars?
Question:
Is there a certain limit of cars you can buy and sell a year in Ohio? I am just a car lover and I purchase different cars, keep them for awhile, then sell them to get something else. I looked on the OHIO DMV website and found nothing. Does anyone know a website that would disclose this info? Thanks.

Answer:
I think after selling 4 in 12 months you need a Vendors License.

Does columbus ohio have ordinances regarding how many cars can park publicly and legally for one resident?
Question:
My neighbor across the street from me has four cars in which one is never moved but every six months and he takes turns with the other. I usually have to rush home just to get my spot in front of my own house. Where can I find information on Columbus, Ohio parking ordinance and who can I call to get help with this.

Answer:
no such law. Hence, you can have a party and your guests can take up the whole street.

why does Ohio have a split speed limit for cars and trucks when it is unsafe?
Question:
Ohio has a 65mph speed limit for cars and 55mph for Trucks. As a truck driver I feel this is unsafe. I drive from Ohio to PA and back everyday. and In WVA the speed limit is 70mph with curves and hills. Ohio roads are pretty straight. Any thoughts?

Answer:
It's sheer madness, I tell ya. Though I did hear "trucker rumor" that a prior governor of Ohio had a kid killed by a speeding truck. Or something. At least that's the story on why the law was initially passed. Try California....a 70/55 mph split, and most of the 4-wheelers do 80 on the interstates, without even a sideways glance from CHP. Let a trucker DARE to drive 64 mph through the desert, though.... I almost feel like putting a sign on the back of my truck, every time I have to get into the passing lane and inevitably cause a line of cars to drop their speed 15 mph....the sign would say "TIRED OF SLOW TRUCKS HOLDING YOU UP? CONTACT YOUR STATE & LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES- REPEAL THE 55 MPH SPLIT SPEED LIMIT FOR TRUCKS. ONE SPEED TRAFFIC FLOW IS SAFER & EASIER FOR ALL. HAVE A NICE DAY" One of these days I'm gonna get by a graphics shop and have a sign made, I'm just afraid of what Cal DOT would say about it LOL.

Is there mandatory liability insurance for rental cars in ohio?
Question:
I live in NY and rented a car from Avis in OH, without taking out liability insurance (ALI). I bumped someone's car and I want to know if by law I'm covered up to a certain amount even without having any personal automobile or credit card insurance. My questions was regarding the other car. I understand that the rental company has insurance for themselves; my question is if that covers me also, or will I have to pay out of pocket to cover their expenses to fix the other car.

Answer:

Can I buy cars at auction and sell for profit in Ohio without a license?
Question:

Answer:

Is there a website that I can get an idea of what cars are going for at a dealer auction for cars in Ohio?
Question:
Looking to buy a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2 with 58,000 miles on it. Dealer wants $6000 for it but I don't think he will get that much for it. Wanted to get an idea of what he will get at an auction for it for better haggling power.

Answer:
just search it on google.com

is there an ohio law that states cars have to be parked a certain distance from a mailbox?
Question:
The post office has stopped delivering our mail because they say they can't get to the mailbox. It's blocked. It's not blocked. The mail carrier just doesn't want to have to back up. Any cars parked in front of our house are at least 7 feet away from the mailbox. I don't see what the problem is here except that our mail carrier is just lazy. It is a public street and cars are parked on it everywhere.

Answer:
It's the USPS policy, not state laws that dictate where they will deliver mail. I had the same problem and also noticed it was only specific carriers that complained and wouldn't deliver the mail if they couldn't comfortably reach the mailbox from inside their vehicle. We had a different mail carrier almost every day. Some had no problem with the vehicles and others would slow down, look at the box, and just drive on to the next box. I think it's laziness, because as you said, it's a public street and cars will park everywhere. The postal customers have no control over who parks where or how close they get to our mailboxes..........

What color lights are on top of Ohio state patrol/trooper cars?
Question:
I know some states have only blue flashers, some blue and red--I wanted to be correct for a novel I'm currently writing. Thanks!

Answer:
Ohio is one of most agencies now that go with the standard red/blue overhead emergency lights. The technical reason for this is these two colors are on opposite ends of the visible spectrum. This means one or the other will be highly visible regardless of the weather conditions. This also serves a practical reason. Blue it the color associated with public safety, and red with warning. That is why all emergency vehicles have red, but only police have blue.

In Ohio, two cars heading in opposite directions both want to turn left at an intersection.?
Question:
Do the cars turn left without crossing each others path or do the cars pull through the intersection crossing by each other then turn left behind each other?

Answer:
Years ago you drove to the center of the intersection and turned hard left. In other words you passed each other and then turned. I don't know anyplace that is done anymore. Every course I have seen in the last 25 years says take the most direct route. In other words, do not cross paths and every intersection I see, that has turn lanes marked, is marked that way.

anyone know where i go to get my old cars license plates transferred to legally be put on my new car (ohio)?
