Is there a mandatory inspection for cars in Nashua, New Hampshire?
Question:
I have been thinking about moving to New Hampshire, Nashua to be exact. I was told by someone who used to live there that they have an annual mandatory full car inspection. During this inspection they remove tires and go through your entire car, practically taking it apart. All for an inspection. I am very curious if this is true or not. I can understand a typical auto inspection, but one this thorough sounds exaggerated. Hopefully someone has an answer for me.

Answer:
sorry can't help but i can tell you your hot :)

How are car registration fees calculated in New Hampshire?
Question:
I called the DMV today but some trick hung up on me when I asked. I want to know now, please. How are NEW HAMPSHIRE car registration fees calculated? Please help!

Answer:
Well, they're calculated by the value and age of your car, so the cost for the same car goes down each year. However, they're still expensive, and you have to pay both the city and state. I don't know the exact formula, but if it helps at all, I paid $425 for a 2008 Ford Escape last month, between city and state (the state portion was much cheaper). Sigh.

Where can I buy a repossessed car in New Hampshire?
Question:
I am looking to buy a used car and was told that I could find new cars that have been repossessed for a very low price. Where would I find a Repossessed in car at in New Hampshire? Thank you for any suggestions you may have

Answer:
Let me start out by saying I'm not the smartest person when it comes to auto repair. Last week I had an accident with my Honda Odyssey and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the web for help, but the procedures were way too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations (car insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in New Hampshire to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com/New-Hampshire-Auto-Repair.ht ml

What are the lemon laws in the state of new hampshire for used cars?
Question:
So I purchased a car from a used dealership in my town of Ashland New Hampshire about 4 days ago. When I left the dealership about 10 minutes down the road, the check engine light came on. I pulled over on the side of the road and immedately called them. The man who sold it to me told me that it was the hummidity from the weather that gets into the gas tank and to just get dry gas and bring it in on monday. Well the following evening, the car makes a large BANG and breaks down on the side of the road with no warning other than the bang. So I get it towed to the dealership for them to fix. I call the next morning and they tell me it was just a bad spark plug out of the box. So I get my car and about 5 hours later the light comes on AGAIN! I called them the next morning (They were closed when this happened for the second time.) and they told me that I could bring it in but all they could do is read what the computer says. Turns out there is something wrong with the fuel intake. I scheduale a time for them to fix that later on in the week. They told me it was no big deal and that i can drive it to work for the rest of the week. Well about an hour ago i go out to get in my car and my car wont start at all. No lights come on or nothing. I am really really really stressed out over this car, and honestly dont want it anymore. Its a lemon if ive ever seen one. So what I want to know is, do i have any llegal rights over this car? Can I get my money back? All the information I find is lemon laws for new cars. Please help

If I buy a new car in New Hampshire, what sales tax do i pay?
Question:
I have been getting quotes for a new civic. The cheapest quote, by far, is a place in New Hampshire, but I live in Vermont. If I buy it there and bring it back, will I pay the VT sales tax when I register it? Does anyone know how that works since there is no sales tax in NH?

Answer:
The Dealer should have no problems taxing and titleing the vehicle in the stae you live in....I do it all the time for people in different states from one coast to the other.... You do need to do it for whatever state you have a permanent residence in though! (Doesnt matter where you purchased) Chris

What to do on a 4 hour car trip to New Hampshire?
Question:
Tomorrow at 4 a.m. i am going to be on my way to New Hampshire. The car ride is going to be 4 hours long, i know it's not that long, but i get car sick very easily. What are some things i can do on the way up there? (I'm not the one driving) P.S. Don't say sleep. Thanks! :)

Answer:
Do you crochet, knit or embroider? Focusing on something other than the ride helps. You could try different games as well (Rubik's Cube, etc. or computer games). Choose a window seat (away from the gas tank). In the future, try "Sea Bands", elastic wristbands used to avoid seasickness.

Cheapest way to get from Massachusetts to New Hampshire? No car?
Question:
Hi, I am from Massachusetts and need to go to New Hampshire. I have no car and very little money. What is the cheapest way (for two people) to get to New Hampshire using public transpo/T/bus? I am trying to get to Manchester but just to get into New Hampshire would be enough.

Answer:
Take the Amtrak, buses are awful. And it likely has a good schedule and may be cheapest. Search on Amtrak "Boston to Manchester" or something like that. Nothing like traveling in comfort, walk around, better views, better restroom.... Train departs Springfield MA to Claremont NH http://www.visit-newhampshire.com/current_category.2561/compa nies_list.html Concord Trailways <-------- Toll Free: (800) 639-3317 http://www.concordcoachlines.com/concord-to-boston.html Better url ! $24 I think -- this is it. Hey, it looks like the second choice is better because there is no Amtrak in Manchester according to internet and Claremont is about 60 mi further NW of Manchester, so for the train you would need to bus back 60 mi to Manchester.

What do I need to know about buying a car in New Hampshire?
Question:
I live in Massachusetts and I'm looking to buy a used car. I noticed that nearly every car for sale in NH is priced under book value, and they are considerable cheaper than used cars sold in my area. I know that this has something to do with NH's tax and/or registration policies, but what exactly are they? Do I simply pay MA tax on NH cars, or what? Thank you!

Answer:
you pay tax in the state you register the car in
