Do I need some kind of license to sell cars in Nevada? Question: Im thinking about applying for a sales job at a car dealership (I know the economy is bad, I dont wanna hear it right now) in Las Vegas (again, I dont want to hear it) anyways do I need a license to be a car salesman in the state of Nevada Answer: Yes, you need a salesperson's license from the DMV. I have not gotten an individual license in some time, but I believe the first time you apply it is $120 for hte license and background check. Y ou will be fingerprinted at that time too. If you change dealers, you have to pay $10 to move the license from one dealer to the other |

How do I register my Nevada car in California? Question: I bought this car from a lady in California. She said she's send me the title but when I went to register it the dmv said I need to file for a lost pink slip in Nevada, then register it in California. Is this right? I can't go all the way to Nevada. And the lady has disappeared. Please help. Answer: Do you have, did she ever give you a valid title for the car? If not, you were foolish to give someone some money and not get a title the very second that you forked over the money. If She did giver you a valid title, you simply take it to your states DMV and get a title in your name. If you do not have a tile for it, demand one from your seller. She is the only one who can get a duplicate, you cannot get a duplicate because it is legally not your car. It sounds as if you have been taken to the cleaners. When will they learn? |

nevada law information on how to get rid of unwanted cars left on your property in reno? Question: car left on property for 2years and no title to the cars what can i do about this? Answer: You can't donate a car unless you have the vehicle title. Most wrecking yards will accept and tow a junk car away for free, but all the reputable ones require that you have the title for it (a lot of junkyards are a bit on the shady side, though, and may be able to help you out but they might also charge you a fee for getting rid of it). You could try calling a towing company, but they usually won't do a job unless you have a contract with them or if you obtain a court order first. But if you have the key to the car, then you could just go out one night and drive/push the junker out onto the street. Eventually, it will accumulate enough parking violations (due to having expired registration/inspection stickers) that the cops will soon tow it away and will try to go after the registered owner of it. |

Is it worth buying a used car in California and registering it in Nevada (Las Vegas - city of my residence)? Question: I would like to know if it is worth buying a car in california and using it nevada. Would i have to pay double the sales tax, and what about other nevada car expenses (prior registration)? Answer: Private party car sales in Nevada are not taxed at all. So if you buying a car from another person, you would not have to pay any tax at all. It does not matter if the car was from California or anywhere else, as long as you register it in Nevada. Before registering the car you must get it smogged which will cost you about $20, and you will have to pay title transfer fees. You also must have current insurance on the vehicle. If you are buying the car from a dealer, you must pay sales tax. You will not be taxed twice, but if the California dealer makes you pay sales tax, and the taxes you would've paid in Nevada are more than what you paid in California, then you must pay the difference when you register the vehicle (i.e., if California charges you $500 in sales tax, but the sales tax in Nevada would've been $600, then you must pay $100 in sales tax to Nevada). If the California dealer does NOT charge you sales tax, then you must pay the full tax rate in Nevada. |
