Question: If I have multiple cars and have a car I only use in Michigan, can I have a California Driver's License, but keep Michigan plates on my Michigan car? Why are the foreign cars in Michigan being attacked by UAW workers? Question: Foreign cars (In Michigan) are getting kicked (Doors dented) tires slashed, and keyed all over Michigan. My Malibu chevy was left alone but the foreign cars around me were trashed. Answer: Erudite, ole son... The chickens are beginning to come home to roost.... This is but the beginnings of what will soon turn out to be absolute mayhem on the freaking streets. The government already knows this... this is why they have situated a number of returning units of the Army into 'on call' status for.... urban duty.... As tens of thousands of American workers are laid off... and, with the government in dire financial condition already with a major, record debt load.... there is no real way that they have of even supplying these newly jobless with the barest of the basics..... Soooo, it is going to get extremely testing in the... out and abouts... over this next while... UAW just 'shot themselves in the foot' .. with this recent refusal to concede certain pay and benefits in order to see the 'bail out' come through.... so, they have no one to blame but themselves for the impending layoffs and plant closings to come.... However, the major ride that these people have had in the longest run... with rock solid pay and benefits... is over... and, that is not going to go down easy in this next while... We are going to see things in this next year... that we didn't think we would ever see... on the American street !! Buckle up, my friend, we are in for a long long hard ride down a steep and rocky road !! ☼ //// |

Why do pre-production cars all have Michigan plates in CA? Question: Hi! I've seen a handful of pre-production (Lexus IS-F, Hyundai Genesis coupe, an entire caravan of Mercedes) cars driving on the streets here in Los Angeles in the past and they all seem to have had Michigan plates. I can understand that for cars from Detroit but why do all the imports have Michigan plates? Answer: Hyundai, at least, has a tech center (shared with Kia) in the Detroit suburb of Superior Township; that's probably where the Genesis came from. I can't explain the Benzes or the Lexus. |

Why are UAW members destroying foreign cars in Michigan? Question: WOODHAVEN, Mich. - It seems the economic conditions and the auto industry crisis is turning some Americans against Americans who drive foreign cars. Woodhaven police said forty cars on Friday, all produced by foreign carmakers, had many tires slashed and "Buy USA" written on them. Answer: This has happened before and its a gut reaction to what is happening in the auto industry. If the American carmakers took the time to make cars that people actually wanted to buy, we would not be in this position. I do not blame the autoworkers, rather I blame their management, the auto designers, the engineers, etc. Why is that a Honda or Toyota is just a better looking car than say, a Malibu? Can't American automakers come up with cars that are just as good looking and fun to drive? There are a few exceptions, like the PT Cruiser (had one, but it got lousy gas mileage, though it did get a lot of stares and smiles) or the Chevy HHR, but they are few and far between. Make better cars and people will buy American. |

Here in N.C. Goodwill offers vehicle assistance to those in need of transportation or having difficulties with finding a car. A lot of people donate their cars, trucks, or vans so that people have one for themselves if in need. Check that out or try Salvation Army. |
