Is the use of windshield mounts for GPS navigation systems in cars regulated in Kentucky? Answer: There is not a specific KY Revised Statute written to prevent you from mounting a GPS or satellite radio receiver to the windshield of the car using the suction cup mount. The key is that the device cannot obstruct the driver's view of the road. This means that it needs to be kept as low as possible on the windshield and favor with the left side A-Pillar of the viewable area or the direct center of the windshield. HTH! |

Who to repo cars for in Lexington, Kentucky? Question: Ive always been really interested in repoing cars since i was little, since im in college now and I take classes late in the day, I think that it would be nice to have a flexable job possibly repoing. Does anybody know who i could work for in lexington? or who to even ask? Answer: I did it in college here and there. But be mindfull that most oft you are just going and towing a car.... not just having a key and driving it away. That requires some knowledge and can involve licenses and such. I got into it by just looking in the phone book for car repo and walked in and asked for advice. I offered to"intern" and do some ride alongs until they let me do it on my own with pay. That led to something else during the summer. Sometimes a bank wants their car back but it is in a different state. So they would have some other company repo it there and it sits in a lot.... but the car has to be returned to the home state. So they had a list of people like me, firefighters who get 3 days off in a row, waiters and just people who could be available. A couple of times I got paid to fly out to the midwest and drive the car back to the east coast. Did insurance PI work as well but that was pretty boring. I did get a lot of reading done though. The base thing was guys who were collecting huge insurance payments because of a work injury but still work on the side. You just ly in wait at 6:00 AM, follow them to a job site and take pictures of them still climbing roofs even though they have an injury. I got that by just finding a small office and say I was willing to do whatever. |

How long would it take to get to Crestwood, Kentucky from South Florida by car? Question: I was just wondering about how many hours or days it would take to get to Crestwood, Kentucky by car, coming from south florida. Answer: Whenever I have such questions about travel, I usually consult Google Maps or Mapquest. Since I don't know exactly where in southern FL you are, I simply used Miami as a starting point. According to Mapquest, it should take about 16 hours; Google Maps says 17 or 18 hours, depending on whether you take I75 or I95.. So, you answer I guess would be anywhere from 16-18 hours. You could do it in a single day if you didn't stop too much for sightseeing; however I wouldn't suggest it. I remember as a child, my mom drove from Orlando straight through to Goldsboro, NC so we could stay the night with family. That's only about a 10 hour ride, but my mom was just barely able to stay awake long enough to get us there. If we had to drive another hour or two, we probably would have gone off the side of the road. Anyway, long story short.. I'd say about 2 days. |

if I sell my car in Kentucky to a kentucky resident do I still collect the license plate? Question: Some tell me if the buyer lives in kentucky they keep the plate till they go to the DMV to finish the title transfer. But others say I need to turn in the license plate immediately after selling my car. Answer: It may, or may not be a requirement in Kentucky, but I would remove the plates immediately upon selling the car as a protection. That will FORCE the buyer to register the car in their own name to legally drive it. Also when selling your car notify your DMV of the sale so you can no longer be held responsible for any ticket, or accidents the car may be involved with. Protect yourself! |

Do you think the Cup cars will be ready by July 7th to test fuel injection at Kentucky? Question: What do you think are some problems or pro's we will see? Here is the article http://www.nascar.com/news/110404/fuel-injection-test-ke ntucky/index.html Answer: Will it be on schedule? No. will problems arise delaying its use? more than likely. But this isn't exactly brand new technology, sure it has advanced greatly over the years but basically fuel injection has been used in racing applications since the late 50's. NASCAR is just a little slow accepting things that are not part of its racing roots. The teams will work out the bugs and it will be a huge part of "race tuning" these race engines in the future. There is a lot of "magic tricks" you can perform on a fuel injected computer controlled race car and NASCAR will have to figure out how to tech and police this. This is a step up as far as engine performance goes and it will be interesting to see how it all pans out. I am all for it. |
