Can someone tell me what the lemon laws are concerning used cars in Kansas?
Question:
Someone told me there is a law that if something major goes wrong within 3 days, the dealer is responsible for fixing it...is this true? We bought a car and within four hours the transmission went out, and it will cost a thousand dollars to fix, what can I do?

Answer:
Lemon laws apply to new cars only. When you signed the purchase order, did it come with a warranty or did it say "As Is"? If it said "as is" then you get to pay for any and all repairs after the sale.

Why are the taxes so high for rental cars in Kansas City?
Question:
Its the worst I have ever seen in a city location. Any tricks for saving money? I'd love to be under $200 for a week's rental, is this too much to hope for?

Answer:
Because the morons in Kansas City voted for a tax to build a stadium downtown by ripping off the people who rent cars in Kansas City, MO without having a actual team to play there while the perfectly good stadium ,Kemper Arena ,goes underutilized. there is many dealers and car rentals in Levenworth, Kansas which is a short airport shuttle ride away. If you rent a car at the airport you will pay and additional 8% airport tax and $5.00 more a day stadium tax so you can see a short taxi or airport shuttle will more then cover the extra fees they rip you off at the airport. IF YOU STAY at the Day's inn or Super 8 in Leavenworth they will provide a free shuttle to and from KCI/MCI airport and when you get to the Hotel you can call Enterprise rent a car in Leavenworth and they will come to the hotel and pick you up.

At the next Phelps demonstration of dead soldiers could someone find the cars with kansas plates on them?
Question:
It would be a shame if somthing happened to these cars.

Answer:
Frankly, one of our Veteran's Home residents says that he wishes Phelps would show up. He lives on $600 per month, has no other assets, and would dearly love to do something to those morons. He says that since he has no assets and only receives disability money, there is nothing Phelps could attach. He said let them sue a turnip and see how much money that they can squeeze from it.

My car got damaged by tree of the ice storm in Kansas which is under disaster declaration. Will Fema pay?
Question:
A tree branch that fell down because of ice landed on the top and totaled my car. Kansas is under disaster assistance as of the day it happened. I only have liability insurance and so have no way to fix it or get money for it. Will fema provide any assistance? Do you know why they won't?

Answer:
FEMA will not pay for this particular incident because it is not an emergency situation. Besides, damage to vehicles caused by natural disasters is paid for by "comprehensive" coverage (not liability) but it sounds like you chose not to buy this coverage from your insurer. So you will have to come up with the money yourself to repair the car. I know this is not what you want to hear, but that's exactly why insurance companies offer comprehensive and why it pays to get it if you live in an area (like Kansas) that is prone to "severe weather." If you can't afford expensive car repairs, then that's exactly why you should have gotten comprehensive and collision. It's easier to pay a little more in premiums each month than to cough up a couple thousands bucks all of a sudden.
