Where can I find information for making cars legal in Indiana?
Question:
I am currently looking into buying cars from japan and I know that they have to pass certain regulations in order to become legal in the state I live in, which is Indiana. I've tried looking on the BMV site but it is way to confusing and had no luck on finding the correct info. If anyone could help me with this that would be great! P.S. I already know I need to have certain U.S. regulations passed also, I just need to find out the specific ones that I would need for Indiana.

Answer:
I would try contacting the U.S. Headquarters for that specific company you're looking at buying from. If they don't have a U.S. HQ then I would try contacting their HQ in Japan. I suspect they've dealt with this sort of thing in the past and could probably give the specifics and details. Good luck.

any good car dealerships that will have cheap used cars in the pitsburgh area/indiana?
Question:
i have been looking for ever and damnit i really need a car. im in indiana, pa right now and all dealerships suck and try the whole high pressure sales thing. if there are any dealers out there you know of in the pittsburgh area that sells cheap yet decent used cars please let me know thanks

Answer:
If your in a small town it may pay you to drive to an area where there is more competition between dealers. I would suggest Lafayette or Kokomo Indiana, Indy if you can get there. Right now "Honda Cars" or Toyota's are selling in big numbers due to gas mileage, so Honda & Toyota dealers will have the best selection of "Trade-in Used Cars"... A used certified Honda is the best used car on the market. They are reliable and hold their value really well. Tell your car salesman that you do not want to be pressured. Ask for the Used Car manager and tell him to assign someone who will not be high pressure and will give you time to look.

Does anyone know of a website with cheap reliable cars for sale in Indiana?
Question:
My family e looked but and I are in need of a cheap but reliable mini van? I have been looking but having no luck.

Answer:
Used cars can be found everywhere. But it is your job to find the reliable from junk. People don't say, oh I have a junk so I won't list it in the GOOD CAR LISTING. Everybody hopes to get the best selling price. So everybody pretends their used car for sale is in good condition. So do your due diligence and do your research. === Don't think that used car dealers are any better. In fact they are worse. MSNBC had a news story on where is the best places to buy used cars. The used car dealers were on the BOTTOM of the list. They are pros at negotiations (and you and I are rank amateurs), they are pros at hiding problems on their cars, etc. The private sales (newspaper, etc.) were the best places. The seller will not tell you all the problems, but they don't know how to hide them. And a private seller are at MOST they are equal in negotiation skills to you and me. === My 94 Civic can get 41 MPG (and I was doing 72 for the mileage test). The engine + tranny + suspension runs like new. It ain't no beauty but it is rock solid. If I had to sell it, I would not get more than few thousand dollars. This is the kind of car you want to look for. Just take your time, as good old used cars are cheap but hard to come by. Good Luck...

what is the goods n consequences if a get a indiana car dealer license?
Question:
what is the goods n consequences if a get a indiana car dealer license ! is it really true i can use it in all 50 states only dealers car auction with no no no problem at all ? is it worth to get it even if i leave in new york n wants to start selling cars for leaving ,for those that knows more about the car dealers Business plsssss help me n tell me what i need to know

Answer:
I think you would need an indiana address and insurance. If you have a real dealers license. Im pretty sure you can get in auctions nationwide. I live in Alabama and went to ones in TN & GA without problem. You have to register at any auction. The biggest issue everywhere is mandatory garage liability which runs $2500-3000 per year. Full coverage would be even higher. kind of expensive for a hobby.

Does anyone know how much money I could expect to make selling cars in or around muncie Indiana?
Question:
If you do know anything about it do you know which dealership is the best to work for?

Answer:
I have done some contract work in Indiana, and the market is about the same as everywhere else. The best way to find out is ask how many cars they sell per month and how many salespeople they have. 10 to 1 ratio is good. If you can sell 10 cars a month which is about avg. you should make$2500-$3000 a month. 10 years in auto Biz

Indiana resident buy car insurance in Chicago?
Question:
I go to college in Indiana and hold an Indiana license. I'm working in Chicago this summer and thinking about buying an affordable used car here since there are way more options in the city. I'll go back to Indiana in the fall and would like to register the car as an Indiana one. Since I can't drive the car without an insurance, I wonder if I can buy insurance here in Chicago and still register it as an Indiana car? Thanks a lot.

Answer:
you can try, some insurance companies will want you to get a chicago license, some will not care, you have to ask, its best to be upfront, and here is why, if you claim one thing, like an address in indiana, then get insurance in chicago, but do not tell them its reg. in Indiana it could be considered insurance fraud, and grounds to keep your money all that time, then deny the claim on a technicality. It is best to keep the insurance, registered at the same address as the car. You can check to make sure Indiana insurance meets chicago insurance requirements. Keep in mind, the second you start to work in chicago, you are considered a resident of that state (purely for tax gouging at its finest, money grubbers are the same in every state, my advice is to buy a car in chicago, register it there, tell them you are a student and you may be abel to keep indiana license (you don't have to tell the dmv you are working necessarily) register the car get insurance in chicago, and then after the summer is over go back and change it over. Having lived in a travel trailer and going from one state to another for many years, there is always that one bored rookie cop looking for that nitpicking crap cops claim they don't do. so rule number one, cover your butt first. It may cost an extra hundred or two, but for the less hassle factor that could be priceless?
